Open Question: Farnsworth House in Gettysburg? Ghost Picture?
We spent a week in PA this spring, and took a tour of the Farnsworth House in Gettysburg. I've never really been one to believe in ghosts, but I can't help but be so intrigued by what happened while we were there. I went on the tour with my Dad and younger brother, so it was pretty interesting. The first hour was fine for me but I was obviously very uneasy about the whole thing despite loving ghost stories etc, and I felt prickly all over while in the attic. After the attic part was over and I was a little bit settled down we headed down to the basement, the guide started telling his stories etc, and told how if you hear talking its just the restaurant upstairs (its a bed and breakfast/tavern also). Suddenly out of no where I heard laughing and I looked around to figure out where it was coming from, it sounded like directly behind me but there was nothing there but a wall, and I finally realized that my Dad and brother were staring at the same spot. I asked them if they heard that and they said yes, and we were all confused because it definitely didn't come from upstairs as it wasn't muffled and it was directly behind us. I tried to explain to them how it sounded, like it was almost in another dimension or something, and they agreed. It creeped me out a little bit so I started fidgeting but eventually that part of the tour was over and I headed up front to take a picture of the elaborate set up (1800's seance type display) with my digital camera. I took the picture and my camera shut off, despite the batteries being full. I was confused and was fooling with the camera trying to get it to work but I was holding up everyone behind me so I walked out of the basement with a dead camera and I turned it back on after I was out and it was perfectly fine, but when it turned back on, it had a strange picture on it. It really was interesting because it was completely pitch black down in the basement except for some candles, and I didn't use a flash because I wanted the natural candle light. I was shuddered by the picture when I realized that it just didn't make sense, and I looked to see the battery was still completely full. After the tour was over I showed the guide and he told me it was definitely a picture of a ghost, but I still am undecided on whether or not they actually exist. While on the tour of East Cemetary Hill I got great pictures of alot of orbs, even a red one. So it was pretty cool all in all, but what do you think of this picture? http://xs135.xs.to/xs135/09021/vacation_196452.jpg Sorry if that's a little lengthy but thanks for the interest! (more...)

Open Question: Okay, I have officially had one of the weirdest dreams EVER. What do you think of this?
Here it is. So, I don't really remember the first part of it, but I do remember that there was a Zombie (Yes, zombie. I was reading the Zombie Survival Guide before I fell asleep) outbreak somewhere in California, where I guess that I was staying for a vacation(Since I don't live in CA). And somehow my old babysitter lived there, because I had been bitten by a zombie and then I went to her house. Somehow I switched bodies with some other person, so I didn't turn into a zombie. I basically hid somewhere while the people attacked the zombie that was(n't) me. Then I remember that I was on a motorcycle with a trailer on the end. I was taking people somewhere, and my brother was there, my assistant principal at my school, and some people that I didn't know. But then one of the guys that was there turned zombie and tried to bite me. He almost bit me on my knee, actually, his teeth were ON my knee, when I woke up. When I woke up, my knee flinched and felt like something had been making a bit of a depression on it. It was really weird. What do you think about this? (more...)

Resolved Question: One more light fluffy poem, from my fingertips today, critiques?
Ode to my damselfly eyes.... My wings have been clipped my body removed I now look out from a mug shot of blue I cannot complain, my eyes have behooved All things I look at as novel yet true For the things eyes take in when observing Are of utmost import in providing To the brain as it functions unswerving As the thought process they?re glibly guiding The colors the scents the interrogation Mixing together they mesh in my head As my thoughts aren?t allowed to vacation These eyes sometimes become bloodshot and red If you?re in doubt of the power of eyes Wear a blindfold briefly - you?ll be surprised ` (more...)

Voting Question: are there any dream experts on yahoo that could explain this dream i had?
In the dream i had last night, my boyfriend and I were swimming in an ocean. He was holding me up and guiding me through the water, so i felt nice and comfortable. Then i looked at his face and he looked concerned, so i looked up and there was a big pirate ship. He said we had to swim back to where we came from. The place where we came from ended up being the island on which my family summer vacation house that i used to go. We had to swim more quickly to get away from the pirates, but it was hard and i was falling under the water, trying to swim. I expected him to help me but he just kept swimming beside me. That's all i remember. anyone who could give any sort of explanation or opinion on this dream would be an awesome help :) thanks. (more...)

Voting Question: For those who have visited Spain; Best way to vacation?
So we are thinking of going to Spain sometime in the next year or two, and wanted to know whether it is best to take a guided tour, or if it would be more fun to take time and travel by train b/w cities. I speak fairly good spanish, enough for dining, asking questions, and making conversation, and the likes from 2 years of formal classes. Also, I wanted to know if it is easy to travel via rail, and if the subway systems are nice or easy to get around on. Thanks! (more...)
