The Skulls Trilogy (The Skulls | The Skulls II | The Skulls III)
The Skulls Trilogy (The Skulls | The Skulls II | The Skulls III) The Skulls
Think of the Skulls as a collegiate Freemason's society--an ultrasecret organization that opens the doors of power to a few lucky Ivy League students, including school rowing star Luke McNamara (Joshua Jackson), a poor kid with a misspent youth. "If it's secret and it's elite, it can't be good," cautions his journalist roommate, but the lure of lavish gifts and cabal-like ceremonies in torch-lit stone chambers is too much to resist--until his roomie is murdered and his own Skull "soulmate" Caleb Mandrake (Paul Walker) is the number one suspect.

There's a campy kick to the initiation ceremonies, ancient rituals in dungeonlike alcoves filled with haze and shadow, performed by enthralled frat boys, but as Jackson flounders at the center of a Skull conspiracy it spins into ludicrous melodrama. See the college president become a thug for the Skull godfather! See street punks become high-tech criminal masterminds! See the conspiracy collapse under its own absurdity!

Jackson is pretty much a dud as the well-meaning hero, but Walker, with flashing eyes under furrowed brow, is mesmerizing as a haunted rich kid torn between a ruthless, overbearing father (Craig T. Nelson) and his conscience. Director Rob Cohen drives the film at a galloping pace and fills it with foreboding images, but his humorless solemnity finally buries The Skulls in a heap of clichés. --Sean Axmaker

The Matrix Reloaded [HD DVD]
The Matrix Reloaded [HD DVD] Neo (Keanu Reeves), Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss), and Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) continue their battle against the machines in THE MATRIX RELOADED, the second chapter of Larry and Andy Wachowski's MATRIX trilogy. As RELOADED begins, Neo, Trinity, and Morpheus arrive in Zion with new crew member Link (Harold Perrineau), and discover that 250,000 dreaded sentinels are close to launching a massive attack on the underground haven for the liberated minds of humanity. When Neo seeks advice from the prophetic Oracle (the late Gloria Foster), their meeting leads to a sorely outnumbered fight with Neo's old nemesis, Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving). While the sentinels advance on Zion, various battles within the Matrix continue to escalate, culminating in an extended highway chase sequence involving Morpheus, Trinity, more imposing agents, and two new adversaries--the relentless white-clad Twins (Adrian and Neil Rayment).

With RELOADED, the Wachowski brothers delve deeper into both the realm of the Matrix and the apocalyptic, machine-controlled future reality. Initially giving ample attention to both the romance between Neo and Trinity and to the vast underground city of Zion, the film eventually delivers one stunning set piece after another, with the amazing martial arts sequences and jaw-dropping effects of the first MATRIX elevated to even more astounding heights. In addition to the returning cast of Reeves, Moss, Fishburne, Weaving, and Foster, Perrineau and Jada Pinkett Smith make for welcome new additions, and Monica Bellucci offers up an unforgettably sensual appearance. Larger than the original scale on every level, THE MATRIX RELOADED is a thoroughly entertaining sequel that will leave viewers eager for the trilogy's conclusion, THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS.

The Night Trilogy: Night, Dawn, Day
The Night Trilogy: Night, Dawn, Day
Night is one of the masterpieces of Holocaust literature. First published in 1960, it is the autobiographical account of an adolescent boy and his father in Auschwitz. Elie Wiesel writes of their battle for survival, and of his battle with God for a way to understand the wanton cruelty he witnesses each day. In the short novel Dawn (1961), a young man who has survived the Second World War and settled in Palestine is apprenticed to a Jewish underground movement, where the former victim is commanded to execute a British officer who has been taken hostage. In Day (previously titled The Accident, 1962), Wiesel questions the limits of the spirit and the self: Can Holocaust survivors forge a new life without the memories of the old? Wiesel’s trilogy offers meditations on mankind’s attraction to violence and on the temptation of self-destruction.

Resolved Question: game to movie adaptation which succeeded and which is the best?
ok guys there have been a couple of game to movie adaptation but which have been the best? money wise?? and purely as a good movie?? now i no mortal kombat was the highest grossing game to movie adaptation till tomb raider......but is tomb raider still the highest i think it made like 250 million while resident evil made about 100 million even though tomb raider made more money though on sites like imdb and wikipedia there is more info there (including activity on forums) that suggest resident evil was better.this has nothing to do with resident evil being released later so more people are interested in it as the last forum post on imdb was long ago when the last post on re was not so long ago. anyone know any facts??? for example resident evil is the 1st game to movie thats spawned a trilogy and soon to be quad trilogy mortal kombat was the highest grossing game to movie adaptation until tomb raider and whats your opinion???? (feel free to talk about mario bros etc) also does anyone know any soon to be video game to movie adaptations. i know that silent hill 2 is on its way by the way does anyone know whats going on with the 3rd tomb raider movie ? and also can you click this link ad sign the petition if you want its to do with resident evil 4 http://www.gopetition.com/online/24103.html (more...)

Resolved Question: What do you think of these movies in the works (will they be good or bad)?
GI-Joe (ive been following this for over a decade now) V 2: the Second Generation (based on a book and screenplay sequel to the famous 80's tv show of aliens who have taken over the planet and the resistance that must take it back) Beverly Hills Cop IV (this first surfaced a couple years after 3 came out but it was put off i think because of the disaster of 3. Its supposed to have a huge amount of original cast members back) A new Jack Ryan trilogy: No name given yet but the first one at least will be a original story, not based on a Clancy novel. Jack Ryan has been played by: Alec Baldwin (Hunt for Red October), Harrison Ford (Patriot Games, Clear and Present Danger), and Ben Afleck (Sum of all Fears) Sam Ramni (spiderman) was originaly gonna be the director, and i have no idea who this new guy is, but i was curious how Sam would have done with it. while Ken Johnson is talking of a remake of Original Miniseries (the first part of V) this is not a remake. Its set 20 years after OM, removing from the story line Final Battle and Tv series, and the Visitors are still in control and are just about done taking the water and humanity into their ships (more...)

Resolved Question: What is a good series I should read that I haven't already read?
Okay, so I feel I'm running out of books to read. First of all, I don't really like stand-alone books that are not part of series. Sometimes I do, but it's rare. And also, I've read a lot of books already. You should Ctrl+F (Find) and search if it is already there, as I have read a lot. Resolved Question: The Merlin Trilogy by Mary Stewart?
Reviews and things call it 'The Merlin Trilogy' and my mum read them as a trilogy when she was in her teens. Yet she has written 5 to do with King Arthur, merlin etc. Wikipedia calls it the Merlin series. these are them: The Crystal Cave (1970) The Hollow Hills (1973) The Last Enchantment (1979) The Wicked Day (1983) The Prince and the Pilgrim (1995) Is it a Merlin trilogy or do these last two books not contribute much to the story? I am a huge gaming fan (addict if you will), I am also big film fanatic. I find that the best films (In my opinion at least) are those that are based on a video game. Resolved Question: Does anyone remember this book? (it's horror/suspense)?
When I was an early teen (say around thirteen, although i had been reading stephen king when i was around ten, so don't let that fool you) which would make this around 1997, although the book might have been old... I got a book from the library and feverishly devoured it. It was a trilogy and I couldn't get the last book, and never read it... Completely forgot about it until I was wikipedia surfing and read a bout the Shining and how it was inspired by The Haunting of Hill House... The title seemed familiar and I read up on it, and it reminds me greatly of my forgotten trilogy... except it's not a trilogy. So, this trilogy... I recall it being about a girl and a boy in a house. The house seems to be alive, or it has ghosts that are after them. I believe they have to stay there for the summer because of their parents? Not sure. It seemed to have Edward Gorey-esque fronts to the books. I would really appreciate an answer so I could read it and finish the book. (more...)
