Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado...
A Night at Red Rocks, taped in Colorado's gorgeous natural amphitheater in 1992, is an ambitious undertaking for these still-stomping rock dinosaurs: the classic Moody Blues lineup playing with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra and no safety net. The band rises to the occasion, giving fans a solid if sentimental survey of its long and prosperous career. The performances and the material vary in quality, but the group comes through where it counts. Hits like "The Voice," "The Story in Your Eyes," and "Nights in White Satin" sound great, as does "Question," the Moodys' greatest contribution to rock music.

Hits like "The Voice," "The Story in Your Eyes," and "Nights in White Satin" sound great, as does "Question," the Moodys' greatest contribution to rock music. The Symphony plays well, but the group misses some prime opportunities to use it, adhering to synth parts where an orchestra would have worked nicely (most notably in the rocking "Gemini Dream"). There's no surround mix here, but band leaders Justin Haywood and John Lodge deserve kudos for their able sound mixing. --Michael Mikesell

The Moody Blues Hall of Fame - Live From Royal Albert Hall
With graying baby boomers becoming key underwriters of viewer-supported television, a staid Public Broadcasting System grudgingly acknowledged the existence of rock & roll in the 1990s. The Moody Blues, via their somewhat heavy-handed, 1993 concert video A Night at Red Rocks, were among the first Woodstock generation acts to end up in constant rotation during affiliate pledge drives. The band's PBS follow-up, Hall of Fame, is an improvement overall. Taped at London's Royal Albert Hall early in 2000, the Moodies' more freewheeling performance this time mixes satisfying selections from their catalogue of hits from 1968 to 1972 with a few Top 40 entries released in the late '80s ("I Know You're Out There Somewhere," "Your Wildest Dreams"). The sheer pleasure of watching the core quartet of Ray Thomas, Justin Hayward, John Lodge, and Graeme Edge ease their way into Mellotron masterpieces from Days of Future Passed, as well as the trippy curiosity of "Legend of a Mind" and the dizzying pop mutations of "Ride My See-Saw," is a study in grace. Backed by the once-fictional London Festival Orchestra (credited as a key musical collaborator on Days), the band eschews grandiosity for a pointed but delicate yearning, and whips up its typically stately tone of cosmic romanticism. The frenzied joy of a mixed-age audience brings smiles to the Moodies' faces and a sometimes-unexpected vigor to their vocals--catch Ray Thomas's booming "Welllll!" during every chorus of "I'm Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)"--which helps to make this program a treat to watch repeatedly. --Tom Keogh

Open Question: If this is true, why hasn't he talked to me?
This guy recently broke it off with me, pretty much out of the blue. Now, we weren't dating very long (1 month) which is why I'm confused about why I'm still feeling crappy.
This guy pursued me the moment we met. I was the unsure one at first, but I decided to give the guy a chance, the first time I ever given a guy I was not interested in at first a date. Big step for me. The whole month was bliss. First guy ever to call me beautiful (verbally, and not pervert-like). Called, texted me all the time. Saw each other, went out almost everyday. Then, he had trouble paying his phone bills and we lost contact for almost a week because he was totally broke and was being difficult about that, moody, stressed, depressed (job killing him, can't get into school). He did try texting me through instant messenger and email, but the money thing seemd to get him down. He even got mad when I tried to pay for him at dinner one night. Anyway, when he got his phone back in order, we were together again one night and he was back to normal. Two days later, he tells me he can't date right now. He says I'm a sweetheart and its not that he doesn't like me, b/c he does. He said its horrible timing and to call him later that night.
I was crushed beyond words. Don't know why, it wasn't THAT serious and quite short. And being verbally abused in a past relationship has made it difficult for me too verbally talk about my feelings so I didn't call him. I didn't want him to hear how sad I was about it anyway, incase it creeped him out.
Haven't heard from him in over a month. I wrote him a nice email a few weeks ago, no response. His best friend, who introduced us, apologized to me about everything. He said it was a shocker to him too, since the guy told him he wants a long relationship with me. He did however, tell me this during the week of no contact "When *his name* has something good, he usually gets nervous and loses it." And then he told me that again after we weren't together anymore. Ideas?
Everyone tells me its his financial situation and how embarrassed he is, which explains a lot, but doesn't explain why he won't talk to me. I'm afraid to make any contact in fear of "crowding" him.

Open Question: What color crayon are you? (Quiz) (:?
http://www.blogthings.com/whatcolorcrayonareyouquiz/
Me:
You Are a Blue Crayon
Your world is colored in calm, understated, deep colors.
You are a loyal person, and the truest friend anyone could hope to find.
On the inside, you tend to be emotional and even a bit moody.
However, you know that people depend on you. So you put on a strong front.
Your color wheel opposite is orange. Orange people may be opinionated, but you feel they lack the depth to truly understand what they're saying.
I'm giving a tu to all answers. I'm sorry for the td.
