Open Question: What could be causing that constant buzzing/hissing noise in my headphones?
Back when I bought my headphones 2-3 weeks ago, everything worked perfectly. Now I hear this constant buzzing noise when I plug it into my laptop. The buzzing noise is proportional to the volume, so the higher I turn up my volume, the louder the buzz. This is really annoying to listen to when one is listening to music or watching videos whose sound isn't very high. It occurs on my laptop and keyboard. I tried connecting it to my iPod nano, my brother's iPod Touch, and his PC. I do not hear ANY buzz at all, even at the highest volume setting (no sound playing). I checked it up on Google and Y!A, but didn't find a solution. Something that caught my interest was ground interference and AC problems. So I lifted up my laptop (still could hear buzz). I unplugged the AC (still could hear). I moved my laptop without the AC adapter 20 feet away (still). Both the keyboard and laptop use the same wall socket, if that might be helpful. Open Question: Does she likes, me, do you think after the dance at school?
So, my friend Josh, from another School came with me to my school's semi formal dance. We like to think of ourselves as "THE Lady's Men" (pun in there somewhere)... And besides getting called gay for well, coming together, even though we're both straight, lol, we had a really good time. So there's this girl in my gym class, and she's really cute called Monique =). I remember, on the first day of school, when I went to gym class, we had to play some silly game so we'd get to know the names of the other people in the class. So, there were mini rock, paper, scissors games and the winner moves on. Anyway, I won on my side of the gym and she won on her side. Also, all the people that we defeated had to cheer our name, so I was blushing, terrible curse that blushing. ha. and she was blushing too.. I remember looking down at her, she's about 3-4 inches shorter than me (I'm 5'10), and I remember seeing those few, cute summer freckles, sprinkled across her face, big, warm blue eyes, and a cute, sincere smile. We made eye contact and she quickly pulled her eyes to the floor and her friends started whispering in her ear, and giggling (I really hate when girls do that..ha). I'll often catch her looking at me in gym, and then she'll just look away. We played soccer, and not to brag, lol, but I'm not exactly 'bad' at soccer and I could skate around the other players, but wowzers, she can play, WELL and it was basically the two of us, 'battlin' it out' for the whole hour long class, there, outside, on the warm september day... Still, all this time, nothing, only a 'hello' she gave me in the hall where right after she said it, she walked into the door. Ouch...I walked over to see if she was OK and the buzz had just rang about 5-10 seconds ago and a sea of people came out and I wasn't getting though them. So, this bring us back to the dance, with my friend Josh... I told him about her, and I'd pointed out who she was accross the gym floor early in the night..and he got that look in his eyes..that, you know, behind those green eyes, he's scheming something...something that will and has gotten us into some pretty awkward situations.ha. So he drags me over to her, randomly, right away from some girls I was talking to, literally drags me, and bring me over to her. About ten feet away he screams over the roar of the music "Tariq Likes you"...I don't really know what she heard of that, I heard every word but I was about a foot away from him. He also pointed to me and she saw him pointing... So, next class (this is after the holiday break), she walks right infront of me and swings her head from side to side and her ponytail swished back and forth, provocatively, just for a split second...she crossed over to her friend, just seconds later -a well played, calculated move... So, since my friend blew my cover (I guess he'd gotten bored of me talking about her), does she now know I like her? How do I know if she heard him say "He likes you" over the music? So, does she likes, me, do you think? likes? lol. (more...)

Resolved Question: Why isn't my CD drive NOT working?!?
Okay, I have a SONY Vaio's laptop. It runs Windows Vista. Everytime I put a CD to transfer music over to my ipod...it buzzes a low hum and then it stops. Even with Sims 2. I can't download it because it does the same thing. The Sims 2 says the disc isn't even in when it actually is! PLEASE HELP! Voting Question: my miserable, unconfident friend...?
i have a friend who was a mack in high school, always getting with and hooking up with girls. thinking back he never really had a real relationship. we were a core group of 5 guys (2 went to school in philly, 2 in ct, and i went elsewhere). he went to school in ct at a school where several other people we knew and were friends with from high school also go, so his current group of friends consists largely of people he knows from home or friends of those people. once college started, his game died. he has been miserable and has had virtually no luck with girls. we tell him to meet new ones, and talk to them.. his reponse is "i have nothin to talk about." his life and interests revolve mostly around friends and music: punk and ska music to be precise, and his clothing style consists of baggy ufo and dickie's pants, vans skating sneakers, a random band shirt, and 2 silver chains. he is about 5'6' and pretty cut and varies his hair from slicked back greaser-style to buzz cut. he has admitted to being attracted primarily to "preppy" girls since we never seem to encounter any girls from punk and ska concerts outside of those environs. this past new years we went to our friends in philly who had a house party, a great opportunity to meet new girls. ironically, several pictures form the night captured him sitting or standing alone, checking his phone, staring in the other direction, and not schmoozing. he talked to 1 girl who he said got up and went upstairs after about 15 minutes. we tell him he doesnt try or make enough of an effort, he gets mad at us for telling him. we get annoyed listening to him whine that girls dont like him. WHAT, as his best friends, DO WE DO? (is sensitive about his clothing style, which has been the same since high school). this is our 3rd year of college, he has sporadic luck with girls, but nothing significnat. and now has begun to assert his dislike for hanging out in the same presence as couples. Open Question: Surround Sound Speakers?
I recently received a set of brand new Curtis 5.1 Surround Sound speakers with subwoofer for my computer. I had to buy an audio splitter cable (PC-to-red/white) to get them to work, and they seemed to work fine for about an hour. After an hour, the left front speaker started buzzing. I tried to ignore it, but the buzzing sound slowly increased, then started making a popping sound. I turned the speakers off, waited five minutes, and turned them back on again. The noise stayed away for about fifteen minutes, then started again. Same thing - a quiet buzzing becoming a loud buzzing, then a popping sound. If I unplugged them for longer, they lasted longer, but never more than about an hour and fifteen minutes, even if they were unplugged overnight. Also, the buzzing and popping sound occured when there was no sound being played by a game, music, or Windows. I had the computer on a screen saver and left the speakers on to get something to eat, then heard the loud popping sound from another room. Therefore, I don't believe it's related to the games or my software. If I unplugged the speaker at the subwoofer, the buzzing stopped of course, but resumed as soon as I plugged it back in. When I did this, I also noticed that the back of the subwoofer was very, very warm, which is strange because I have no heat in the computer room and it was only about 55 degrees in there. The speakers and subwoofer have proper ventilation, are on a flat desk (not a carpeted floor, blanket, or anything like that), and are plugged into a surge protector on a regular household outlet (110V AC), just as the instructions said. Everything is also connected properly, as the instructions indicated. What could be causing this sound? Is it the lack of a sound card (I'm using integrated SoundMAX Digital Audio)? Is the speaker or subwoofer bad? The sound is great while it works, and it was a gift, so I'd like to keep the speakers if possible. I can't just send them back either (they came from California, and I'm in Michigan, so shipping would be astronomical). I would appreciate any help anyone would have with this. I thank you for your time and patience, and good luck! Another detail - Could it be because the computer is sending the 5.1 sound through a single audio cable to five speakers and a subwoofer, and the subwoofer just can't handle it? Would a surround-sound sound-card that could split up the singal help? (more...)
