Resolved Question: Doesn't acreage significantly decrease in value when it fails a perk test?
There is about 3-4 acres of land below my property that is being sold. I kind of know the seller and she paid $6,000 back in 1991. You can't build on it and 'most' of it is trees and steep hills, with little flat land. Since that time there have been TONS (literally tons) of garbage and cement thrown down there then covered with dirt. She said she can get $10,000 for it and asked me if I wanted to buy it first. She didn't have it appraised and I think shes messing around with me when she says someone offered her $10,000. I only want it because my property is mainly hills and I want a little flat land. Also because alot of people come up here and party and I want them gone. If I own it I can tell them to leave. Am I able to get someone up here to estimate a price for me off the record and who would that be? Thanks for your help! I don't think I can hire an appraiser without the owners permission can I? So, I saw this on a website a couple seconds ago: I'm 17. Older than most here, and I wish I could help all the girls on witty. I wish someone would have told me at 12 and 13 that - - - ?The a m a z i n g boy you have a crush on in 7th grade is not gonna be the boy you marry. Don't stress so much. ?You aren't in love with the guy that you "date" for a week. Don't let him make you cry. Save those tears for the boy that'll come along that becomes your best friend, and stays with you for months, even years. [it will happen!] ?Don't let people make you beileve marajuana is bad for you. It's not. I could go on and on about this... But don't try it either... [you'll probaly like it too much.] ?Don't give up your innocence at such a young age. Later down the road, you will regret it. That's the only thing that is 100% yours. The boy you give it to has to be special. ?Freshman year in high school is very impotant! Don't party the entire time, and slack off. If you fail, you'll be so upset with yourself the year after. ?Don't EVER, and I mean ever, back stab your best friend. That girl will be very much needed through the high school years. ?Always tell those that you love that you love them, frequently. It's true one night can change everything. You never know if they'll be there tomorrow. ?Drinking and driving isn't smart, no matter how good you think you are. ?HAVE FUN while you are young! Don't waste time worrying about that boy that cheated, or that girl calling you a slut. 3 years from now, that boy will probaly have an STD and that girl will be pregnant. Wouldn't it not be prudent if they scale down the partying and save taxpayers money for more important things such as surviving? This goes for all other less priority expenses such as space exploration, foreign aid, government perks, etc. Seems like the politicians are having a wild party this January while thousands are getting laid of their jobs. Dear friend, It is high time we rise to the occasion. Terrorism is eating away our national security and integrity. We are all soldiers who have the responsibility to protect our country. Now that we have seen our coastal areas are not properly protected, our airspace is also not safe. No ghastly terrorist attack can be carried out without the logistical support and local sympathy. It is with utmost pain that I have to say that there are traitors inside the country who are bloody rogues, eating away the very breast that they feed on. We have to be vigilant towards enemies inside the border and we should empower the security agencies who are our national assets. We should also petition the governments to provide adequate funds and infrastructure to the men in uniform both civilian and armed. Is it not painful to see our brave- hearts bleeding in their duty to protect the people of India? We, the people of India should stand shoulder to shoulder with our Jawans and tell them if not with you; we are always behind you to support them as well as their families. The shameless politicians hike their pay and perks without a single whisper in the parliament but when it comes to settle the anomalies in the pay structure in armed forces they whimper in pain to give away the funds. The police officers who sacrificed their lives battling the terrorists had no improvised bullet proof jackets. I wonder why the governments have not provided them the required funds to purchase the jackets. Our police constables are still roaming around with 5 feet long traditional gun, whereas the terrorists are in possession of AK 47 and other ammunitions duly funded by organized enemies of the nation. No individual can avail of such modern weapons and technical gadgets without State Sponsorship. Look at Israel ? a nation built on will power surrounded by ever hungry wolves who feed on human blood. Still they dare the enemies to challenge their nationhood. We, Indians will not seek anybody?s peril but we should not be seen as easy kill. A country is known by its people. Indians should exhibit the attitude to warn the enemies that they will not be spared if they threaten our nationhood. Every body can not and need not go to the front to fight the war but every citizen can contribute to the Defense of the country. The teachers should prepare citizens with courage and sense of integrity towards nation. The technicians should help in building the modern techniques to support strategic base of the country. The scientists, as they are doing, should discover and invent new technology in all spheres of science so that the country is strengthened scientifically. If the scientists invent new technologies we can make use of it to earn good foreign exchange. If the dangerous diseases are found vaccines to cure, we can help poor countries and sell the medicine to rich countries. Space scientists should try to take control of the skies. The youth of the nation should do all that is possible to booster the country?s position because ?strength respects strength?. The rich students who come to colleges in cars and spend thousands of money in merry making should also think of sponsoring poor students for higher education. The rich students can boast of helping some precious brains of India. The greedy people who keep black money can reduce their guilt by donating money to fund meritorious student?s higher education and researches. The affluent class of India should modify their lifestyle so that they can spend less on luxury and use the same money in persuasion of socialism. The dishonest babus can, at least, decrease the magnitude of corruption. Corruptionless society is our ultimate motto but it is easier said than done. We all Indians should understand and enlighten others that Dirty Politics and Corruption does also have its bearing on escalating terrorism. The sympathizers and fund raisers of terrorism residing in rich countries will not die a good death. The States sponsoring terrorism will perish sooner or later as we saw in Iraq, Afghanistan and now Pakistan. Some of our neighbors like China may be smiling behind the curtains at our state of affairs. The world knows the all-weather-friendship of China and Pakistan. Days are not too far when Chinese will realize they were feeding a bad snake. Why won?t some Indians think of disguised action against the masterminds of terrorism? Let us not kill innocent people but we have all the rights to avenge for our national loss of people, property and pride. The western countries should change their policies towards other countries. Better they stop building their fortune by selling arms and ammunition. Is it not nasty thing? They supply the same guns and bombs to two warring parties and see the bleeding of human beings. Ok so we have a filmstrip project that we need to do for school. So today we were supposed to bring home our summary part and have our parents edit it since we already tried in class. BUT my parents aren't home and wont be home for two days cuz of buissnes trips so im home with my younger brother and mmy sister has sports and wont b home till eight and then she takes a shower and gets ready for bed so she wont b availabe till 9 which is when i go to bed so please help and edit this for me. The clique novel Sealed With a Diss by Lisi Harrison is a bratty tale about five girls, who call themselves The Pretty Committee, and their adventure to secure their eight grade alpha status. To begin with, Skye (the eight grade alpha) and the rest of her clique shoe The Pretty Committee the secret room in the OCD bomb shelter. Since The Pretty Committee has the secret room for next year, they also get invites to Skye's infamous famous couples party where they have to show up with a good date. Later, Massie begins to get desperate for the seceret room this year and strikes a deal with Skye. The deal is to make Chris Abeley (LBR Layne's heartbroken older brother fall in love with Skye and be her date. One of the perks to the secret room is being able to secretly watch ESP (a class the Briarwood boys take to channel their emotions). After the girls use ESP they decide their dates and what famous couples they will be. One day while Massie and Claire are watching ESP, the camera brakes. The Pretty Committee and Layne, out of desperation, sneak into Briarwood where Layne drills a hole into a pipe. Kristen then realizes the batteries had just died. The Pretty Committee goes to Skye's party with their dates except Massie who is now going with her boyfriend and Chris Abeley so she can trick him into liking Skye. Later into the party, Massie learns that Skye is over Chris, but their eighth grade alpha status for next year is secure. Then all of The Pretty Committee except Alicia is dumped. The next day, Massie reveals to The Pretty Committee about the boyfast. The principal delievers shocking news. Briarwood was crushed (by the pool on top of the roof due to a hole in the water pipe). Resolved Question: Saving Money on Rehearsal Dinner?
Tell me if I'm being a tightwad or being unreasonable. I'm already spending $18,000 on my wedding day. I don't feel that I need to wine & dine my wedding party the night before the wedding for the rehearsal dinner. My fiance is unemployed right now and the job market is tight. I really want to keep the cost of the rehearsal dinner down. There is a hall in our local community park (no different from an Elks Lodge or VFW Hall) that is really nice and includes use of the kitchen, all tables & chairs for only $150. I was going to ask some family & friends to help me prepare the food and set it up like a buffet style dinner. Pretty much a casual & relaxed rehearsal dinner. I also figured that dealing with BJ's or Costco I'd save a bundle and could probably feed everyone & buy all the supplies for under $200 so the total cost would be about $350. To me, this sounds great! I love the idea of keeping it casual & friendly and cost-effective. The other perk to this is that it is easy to add people on with low additional cost if we find out that alot of family is traveling out the day before the wedding (fiance has some family in Florida, I have family from all over, too). My FSIL - one of my BMs - thinks I ought to have a sit down dinner with loads of alcohol for everyone! For starters, I don't want my wedding party getting smashed the night before the wedding so by keeping the dinner to the hall I'm preventing them from being able to get to alcohol (even if I did no liquor at a restaurant they could order for themselves separately). My fiance has said he likes the sound of the restaurant/sit-down dinner. But cost is starting to become a factor here. Also, if we do the restaurant, we can't include out-of-town family. We just couldn't afford it. Am I being unreasonable about wanting a casual rehearsal dinner where we can include extended family affordably & easily if we want? How formal was your rehearsal dinner? We have a very small place with 2BRs and no dining room and cannot possibly fit everyone at home (wedding party + spouses are 14 people, Ushers + readers 6 people, parents 3 more, Rev & Mrs add 2, Bride & Groom 2 more, Flowergirl & parents are 3 more). Its a must that we go somewhere, I'm just trying to keep the costs down. Just feeding 30 people at a restaurant with $20 meals would cost $600 before tax & tip. As for taking care of the BMs and Groomsmen. I hope we have accomplished that - - we are paying for their attire, and giving them nice gifts (I got a good deal and only paid about $45 per person but the BMs gift would sell for about $80 normally and GM's would be about $60).
