Open Question: Photography Rites to Pics?
I had some pictures taken professionally. I was very disturbed about the person's practices. She said that as a professional photographer she owns the rights to the photos (which is understandable). She, however, refuses to sell the CD images to me unless I purchase up to $1,000 in printed PRODUCTS from her. She does not even offer the types of products I want to purchase! I understand that the rights/master images are charged for (her fee is $600 for the CD). Her services are paid for (the shooting and retouching fee), and I am willing to pay for the CD of images at $600. When I explained that she does not offer the types of albums and prints I want, she said that I would have to pay her $1,000 anyway (and get NOTHING), plus the $600 for the CD images. Not to mention the $450 that was paid for her services as a photographer. This seems very illegal to me - how can a professional photographer that makes money photographing people be allowed to hold the images hostage. If the images and rights are paid for when buying the CD, how can she legally refuse to sell the CD to me unless I give her $1,000 for prints that I don't need/want? I cannot find any definite information on OH or national law regarding this. Any legal information would be helpful, or at least information on where I can find this type of OH law. Thanks! Open Question: I need help with Nikon D80.?
I may not sound that professional when asking this, but my knowledge lies mostly around the computer area. I like photography and its a kind of side hobby of mine. I got a Nikon D80 camera form my dad. When me, my sister and her ex went to him (he lives around 7-8 hours away from where I live) we stopped on the way so I could take photos of a tree. Its hard to give details, except that that tree is kinda famous and very beautiful, especially with the snow and ice around it. So my questions are: "How do I turn off the lightning without making the pictures I take pitch black?" and "Why is the picture all blurry when I am taking a photo of a moving object?" I photograph my dads students (hes a pro tennis coach/teacher), but its very hard taking a good photo that wont be blurry when they run around. Too much written? Then dont answer. Im just looking for detailed help about this, since I really love my camera. Thanks! (more...)

Open Question: I can't seem to make up my mind about simple things, and get depressed about it afterward?
I haven't found out my talent yet, and i'm just so bored with life. I do the same thing everyday; come home from school, homework, computer, hang out with friends. etc etc. Okay, so i'm fourteen years old. I know most of you are going to say "Oh..you're still young, be patient, it'll change." That doesn't help me much in the situation i'm in now at all. ALL of my friends have a talent or something they like doing and stick to it for a long time. I want to work with photography, and use deviantart. I take alright pictures in my perspective but I seem to give up and say to myself "This'll never work" Or i'd just end up being bored and want to do something else. At times i'd just randomly break down into tears because I have nothing to be occupied with and it really saddens me. I can't seem to find anything. Please help. (more...)

Open Question: Which camera should I get - Kodak EasyShare M1063 or Canon PowerShot A470?
I'm trying to decide between the Kodak EasyShare M1063: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=12883&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=16055 ($150) and the Canon PowerShot A470: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16830120261 ($90) I've never bought or owned a digital camera before so I have no idea what to look for. I'm just looking for a camera to take pictures of family/friends/pets or whatever, not really for serious photography, but I'd still like the quality to be good. I'd be willing to spend the extra 60 bucks for the Kodak if there was that much of a difference in quality. I'd also prefer a camera that's smaller/slimmer in size but that's not my biggest priority. thanks! (more...)

I am doing a research paper on how technology has changed photography for 11th grade english. Ok so I have a few questions. 1. Which statement would be my thesis: "Taking pictures is easier then eve due to advances in digital technology" or "Digital technology has made it easier then ever to print, share, and create photographs"? 2. If I am doing a paragraph on sharing film photography and basically all of it is bad stuff like how you can rip the pictures... would it be alright to put in a sentence saying that there is one good thing about film photography or should I leave that out??
