What else do I need to get. I have an eight year old Min Pin/beagle mix that was given to me a few months ago. She has separation anxiety and was tearing things up before I started crating her. Now of course she's fine. She doesn't chew on anything while I am home. She's perfect. The problem I am having with her now is that she chews up her blanket while she's crated and eventually her saliva saturates the blanket and the smell gets overpowering. I check the blanket when I come home and she's never peed or crapped on it so I know it isn't that. She doesn't like any of the toys I've gotten her except for the soft plastic or plush ones but they only last a day (because she tears them to pieces). I've tried Kongs but she ignores those (her teeth are worn down from her years of chewing). I don't want to forgo the blanket because a) I think it's cruel to make a dog lie for any length of time on hard plastic and b) she'll turn her attention to the crate door (she's already broken one of the bars on the door from pulling on it with her teeth). I buy cheap blankets from Wal-Mart. I'm on my fourth one and they only cost $10 but it's starting to add up. Any suggestions? Please read the entire question carefully. Some people are saying put toys in with her when I have clearly stated why I don't have toys in with her (she ignores the hard plastic like Kongs and tears up the soft plastic and plush ones). Additionally, it's also been suggested to leave her out. I do when I'm home. She doesn't chew on anything then. I crate her when I am gone so she doesn't tear anything up. I've had to replace blinds, carpet and repaint wood trim. One more item....she's only in their while I am at work. Once I come home...I let her out. (more...)

About 8 or so years ago I bought this toy(s)/color activity thing from Roseart. They were in a box and each box had a different combination of 3 different plush beanie toys inside that could be drawn on and then later on washed off. Inside our particular box was an alien, a happy face sort of thing and a bear, each of the three animals went to one of the 3 of us kids. I got the alien, my sister got the happy face and my brother got the bear (not that it's really important). One day my brother lost the bear, so we went out to get a new box (it was like $10.99 per box including the 4 or so washable markers), but they didn't have the same one so it didn't really matter b/c we found another one with the bear and all was well. We brought those animals with us everywhere as if they were our security blankets and one day my sister lost her happy face (about 4 or 5 years ago I'd guess) and we were never able to find the toys again. And a while ago I lost mine for about a year or so and had replaced it with 6 small alien toys (which i still have 5 of) but then found the lost alien beanie (although I'm a bit to old for it now i still keep it with me all most always). To this day we still have the dog and frog beanie that came with the 2nd box set we bought and my brother found his original one but lost the replacement but sadly we never found my sisters happy face. So every now and then I look online to try and find either that same set or one with the happy face in it but have come up short. So I ask if some one knows what this set of toys are or have an idea or something perhaps could send me a link or the name of the pack of toys so maybe one day I could find that happy face 2 get for my sister. My one-year-old Beagle Laborador mix is a heavy chewer. She chews everything from her bed in her kennel, the towel that I replaced it with, the blanket I replaced the towel with, plastic toys, plush toys, crayons, pencils, a wooden magazine rack, and door frames. We are lucky enough that she has not chewed on any major funiture... yet. We have gotten considerably more diligent in making sure that there are no items available to her and the toys, crayons and pencils are thus far being spared. But she still chews the wood. Is it safe for her? What can I do to stop her? I went to Petsmart and bought her a Nylabone and she loves it. She chews it all the time, but she still occasionally chews the wooden magazine rack. Pieces of it have been chewed off, some are on the floor and some are, I can only assume, being swallowed. (more...)

I'm a busy mom, this is my last child and my hubby is OK with breastfeeding right now (claims that I'm going to "milk it for all it's worth!"). But if I'm around my son, he's whining for me, following me around the house and wants me and no one else. I think this is due to owning the boobs. I need ideas that might help him comfort himself.
