Open Question: What do you think about my story of a young gay couple?
Yeah, I know I've asked before but I kind of get desperate for people's opinions!
She pulled me back down with her and as I was so helplessly distracted I let it happen. She rolled my t-shirt over my head and pressed her lips to mine again just as the bedroom door was pulled open.
A shaft of light from the hallway outside was cast upon us and we froze in mid action creating a tableau of deceit and fault for Felix.
Zienna gave a small cry when she saw him standing in the doorway, a troubled expression upon his face.
I quickly scrambled from the bed trying to pull my shirt back on, heart pumping dramatically as I looked into his wounded eyes.
Zienna ran up to him. ?I didn?t realize you?d be back tonight and we thought we?d have the room to ourselves and?? she trailed off as Felix stared her down, arms crossed confrontationally.
?I?ll go now,? she said and slid pass him out of the room.
As Zienna?s retreating footsteps were closed off by the shutting of our door, Felix turned his attention to me.
?Please let me explain,? I said, trembling with the shame that overwhelmed me as the hurt erupted onto his face.
He placed his worn travel bag onto the ground next to his bed and dragged his jacket off, letting it fall to the surface of the mattress.
?Felix it was nothing, you have to believe me-?
?Nothing?? he spat.
I cleared my throat nervously. ?It was nothing.?
He walked over to me arriving so close to my face that I stumbled back from his emanating anger.
?It didn?t look like nothing Byron,? he said, voice filled with malice.
?It was an experiment Felix, I didn?t mean for it to go so far, Zienna was-?
Before I could continue my hurried rant I saw with horror as Felix pulled his arm back and thrust his fist into my face.
I reeled back from the punch, clutching my cheek in pain, tears springing to my eyes.
?Felix stop,? I choked but he pulled his arm back again and punched me in the stomach.
I was winded from the blow and found myself writhing upon the ground. Felix came to stand over me and I looked up through hot tears, grimacing as I edged away from his looming figure.
One hand clasped itself tightly around my upper arm and pulled me up with a violent tug.
?How do you think that made me feel Byron?? He asked, trying to swallow down the tears.
I shook my head, unable and unwilling to answer. He shook me roughly and I moaned as a sharp pain erupted between my ribs.
?How do you think it feels?? he shouted and released my pathetic figure so that I could collapse onto the mattress.
He walked away and sat down on his bed, massaging his knuckles that were speckled with my blood.
?Felix, please forgive me,? I croaked.
He had his back to me and I could see his body stiffen at my ineffectual words.
?I wanted to see what it was like with-?
?A girl?? he finished, swiveling his head over his shoulder.
I looked down and fixed my gaze upon the blood dripping softly to my t-shirt.
?Look at me,? he said.
I slowly raised my eyes and flinched under his heavy stare.
?What did you say to me the other night Byron??
I shook my head, ashamed tears falling freely now.
Felix was crying as well and he choked out those fateful words. ?You said that you loved me and that I was your world entire.?
I continued to look at his sad eyes and my body crumpled with disgrace. ?It?s true Felix.?
I struggled to stand and with a loping walk made my way over to him.
?Don?t come near me Byron,? he cried.
I continued to limp over and sat down next to him. His breath intensified as he tried to keep down the tears.
I reached my hand out but his body became rigid at my motion so I let it fall back to my lap.
?Don?t prolong the inevitable Byron. Say you don?t love me.?
?I love you,? I whispered.
Felix let out a strangled and tortured noise from the back of his throat.
?Finish it off!?
?I love you Felix.?
?Why do you have to hurt me?? he cried and the harsh sobs which he had being holding back ripped painfully from his mouth.
?You can?t slip between both worlds Byron! Life doesn?t work like that.? His chest heaved and he tried to hide his red face. ?I accepted this a long time ago and it?s time you did the same.?
?I accept it Felix, I know that now!?
?It hurts Byron and I was a fool to believe?? Felix suddenly stood up and walked to the door but before he opened it he turned around to address me.
?I never had any help with who I was at your age Byron,? he paused and my heart cracked as I finally realised the enormity of my action and the underlying pain that Felix had suppressed for so long. ?I never had anyone to care for or who cared for me back.?
?Felix I-?
?You can?t blame me for being upset can you Byron?? he asked sadly.
?No,? I replied forlornly.
Felix nodded and opened the door to leave, shutting it quietly behind him, silencing the room and leaving me to absorb the immense pain of my feelings.
Don't judge too harshly, I'm only eighteen so nothing spectacular.

Open Question: Keeping out the cameras and reporters simply doesn't work israel?
What is Israel afraid of? Using the old "enclosed military area" excuse to prevent coverage of its occupation of Palestinian land has been going on for years. But the last time Israel played this game ? in Jenin in 2000 ? it was a disaster. Prevented from seeing the truth with their own eyes, reporters quoted Palestinians who claimed there had been a massacre by Israeli soldiers ? and Israel spent years denying it. In fact, there was a massacre, but not on the scale that it was originally reported.
Now the Israeli army is trying the same doomed tactic again. Ban the press. Keep the cameras out. By yesterday morning, only hours after the Israeli army went clanking into Gaza to kill more Hamas members ? and, of course, more civilians ? Hamas was reporting the capture of two Israeli soldiers. Reporters on the ground could have sorted out the truth or the lie about that. But without a single Western journalist in Gaza, the Israelis were left to tell the world that they didn't know if the story was true.
On the other hand, the Israelis are so ruthless that the reasons for the ban on journalism may be quite easily explained: that so many Israeli soldiers are going to kill so many innocents ? more than three score by last night, and that's only the ones we know about ? that images of the slaughter would be too much to tolerate. Not that the Palestinians have done much to help. The kidnapping by a Palestinian mafia family of the BBC's man in Gaza ? finally released by Hamas, although that's not being recalled right now ? put paid to any permanent Western television presence in Gaza months ago. Yet the results are the same.
Back in 1980, the Soviet Union threw every Western journalist out of Afghanistan. Those of us who had been reporting the Russian invasion and its brutal aftermath could not re-enter the country ? except with the mujahedin guerrillas. I received a letter from Charles Douglas-Hume, who was editor of the The Times ? for which I then worked ? making an important observation. "Now that we have no regular coverage from Afghanistan," he noted on 26 March that year, "I would be grateful if you could make sure that we do not miss any opportunity for reporting on reliable accounts of what is going on in that country. We must not let events in Afghanistan vanish from the paper simply because we have no correspondent there."
That the Israelis should use an old Soviet tactic to blind the world's vision of war may not be surprising. But the result is that Palestinian voices ? as opposed to those of Western reporters ? are now dominating the airwaves. The men and women who are under air and artillery attack by the Israelis are now telling their own story on television and radio and in the papers as they have never been able to tell it before, without the artificial "balance", which so much television journalism imposes on live reporting. Perhaps this will become a new form of coverage ? letting the participants tell their own story. The flip side, of course, is that there is no Westerner in Gaza to cross-question Hamas's devious account of events: another victory for the Palestinian militia, handed to them on a plate by the Israelis.
But there is also a darker side. Israel's version of events has been given so much credence by the dying Bush administration that the ban on journalists entering Gaza may simply be of little importance to the Israeli army. By the time we investigate, whatever they are trying to hide will have been overtaken by another crisis in which they can claim to be in the "front line" in the "war on terror".

Open Question: computer programing help?
im using visual baisc and i need to make a game with a sprite and have them do it if anyone knows code tell me it plz heres tthe assignment
Computer Programming 1
Unit-Arcade Game
Specifications:
This project will incorporate the animation and key press events into an arcade game. The basic game concept is that something in animated across the screen while a sender is controlled by the keys and the spacebar releases an object that is suppose to collide with the animated object.
When a collision occurs the point value needs to be accumulated and displayed on the screen. This project will need to follow your original plan or you will need to resubmit a plan for your project. It will also require a storyboard for the project?s animation. These 2 documents will replace the need for a design document and will replace the design documents value on the grading rubric.
You will need to be aware that there needs to be a rectangle and scratch canvas for each object you will have on the screen. That means that you will need at least 3 rectangles and scratch canvases, one for the animated character, one for the sender that is key controlled and one for the object to be released by the spacebar.
You will also need to have a label that is not on the animated surface that can be updated as points are earned.
'code to create the
Required input:
1.the scratch canvas
2.the background canvas
3.bitmaps for the sprite and background
4.rectangles for the sprite and scratch sprite (moved sprite)
Process:
You will draw the background canvas on the picturebox area, then you will move the sprites, draw them in the rectangle and then place the rectangles on the scratch canvas. You will redraw the background before each animated motion appears on the screen so we don?t get a blurred effect
Output:
1. animated character on the screen
? The user will be able to exit the program by clicking on the close box or menu
?All objects are appropriately named.
?All files will be saved in a folder called Last Name ? First Name ?arcade. For example, my folder would be called ?Thorleifson ? arcade. ? (without the quotes).
?The project file will be named ?arcade. ?, the form file will be named ?frmarcade. ?.
?You should use your own creativity in choosing a character that you will be using in your arcade game.
The project must incorporate the following:
?Labels
?Command buttons
?A variable dictionary see example
?Heading Text at the beginning of the project
?Declaring integer, double and constant variables
?Planning document, this document will outline the nature of your character and it?s role in your arcade game. Note the game needs to be instructionally appropriate, model an educational concept and have benefit to our society.
?The storyboard will include a sketch of what will be happening in each frame of the animation for your sprite.
Evaluation
?Every project that meets all specifications will earn 80 ? 85%. In order to go beyond this point you will need to incorporate embellishments.
?When you are finished, you will use the scoring rubric and evaluate your work
?After you have evaluated your work I will evaluate your work, in class, with you
A final note:
Please remember that a project is never finished even after it is released. Consult the project grading rubric for the details on how your project will be evaluated. You may help each other, but each person must turn in his/her own work.
Commenting your code ? at the top
In Visual Basic the comment character is the single quote: ?
Put this at the beginning of your comment. At the top of your code put the following:
?Every project will have a header to the project describing what the project is ?about. You will find the project header text in the Resources area of Focus ?Projects next to Hello World.
?------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Commenting your code ? each subroutine
For each of your subroutines, add a short comment which explains what this subroutine does. You may find at the beginning that this is a bit redundant, but please do it anyway as it?s an excellent programming habit to get into.
Private Sub cmdExit_Click()
' This will exit the program
End
End Sub
Commenting your code ? blank lines
One last type of commenting is to use blank lines between the subroutines. This blank space visually helps to separate each subroutine, making the code easier to read.

Open Question: Writing a fantasy novel...any readers?
i have writing about 2 chapters. this one is the second chapter. i know its kinda long but if u like it tell me what u think and if you want to see the 1st chapter then just say so and i'll put it up or just email me =]
He sat there staring at the ground, thinking to himself, why! Why couldn?t he have done something? As he was thinking, he thought of how he would never see his mother or father again? He was alone is this world now, and what were those things chasing after him? He kept staring at the ground but then noticed something strange? there were tracks pressed into the dirt of an animal, an animal he had never seen before. Surely these could not be of a human or dwarf, but he just couldn?t figure it out. To Alakai it looked like a dog or wolf of some kind but not the kind he had ever heard of, to his own knowledge, wolves don?t walk on two feet. This was strange to him, it seemed adventurous to follow but dangerous at the same time seeing as he had no idea what was in store for him if he found the beast, ultimately he knew he should not follow the tracks but he just could not help himself, he had always been a risk taker.
As Alakai followed the mysterious beast?s tracks for a few hours he came to a burnt out campfire.
?Could this be possible?? He asked himself aloud. This was the third strange thing that had happened already today, first his parents dying and those men following him, second finding mysterious animal tracks of a dog or wolf type animal walking on what seemed to be two feet and third, while following the tracks he stumbles upon a camp fire where the tracks had suddenly stopped then started on the other side. Now Alakai knew something had to be up, he knew dogs don?t walk on two feet and was almost defiantly sure they couldn?t build campfires. Suddenly the tress on his left rustled! And he heard the dry leaves that lay beneath and around him crunch, could this be those black hooded men that were following him before? What did they want? Alakai stood there and waited in extreme silence and inpatient ness, his heart pounding so hard it seemed it might burst from his chest any moment.
?Show yourself!? he screamed, ?Show your faces you cowards!?. At the exact moment of his thought, a giant gray beast flew out from behind a tree and landed directly on Alakai?s shoulders, the weight making him buckle under the pressure and collapse to the ground.
?Get off me! I?ll kill you I swear!?
?Calm yourself child, you have nothing to fear here? Said the mysterious beast in a soft spoken slow voice. The beast got up and Alakai felt the pressure release off him, he sat up and stared at where the beast was standing to realize a giant smokey gray wolf standing before him. He thought this beast must have been nearly 7 or 8 feet tall, carrying a long knight type sword attached to a silver crested belt. Alakai could hardly believe what he saw but he had no choice not to, everything that had happened to him in the last few hours was unusual. ?I am Faran, king of the Greybacks and leader of the Narzak? He said in his slow voice as he bowed to Alakai. A few moments later a second wolf stepped out from behind the brush. ?And this is Rangore, my second in command?. He too bowed in respect for Alakai.
?What??....What are Greybacks?? Said Alakai, ?And why are you walking on two feet??.
?Greybacks are and ancient race, a clan of wolves taught in the knowledge of the elves thousands of years ago? Said Faran as he gestured to himself and his other. ?We are on a task of great importance to find a young man who is in grave danger, Perhaps you may know of him? His name is Alakai?. Alakai just stood there in shock of what he had just heard. Why were these beasts looking for him and why was he in danger?. None of this made any sense to Alakai. He paused wondering whether to tell them that the boy they were looking for was him or not for fear of his life. ? I am not the boy?.but I do know him! He lives on the nearest farm from here about 2 hours away in that direction? Said Alakai, pointing towards where his cottage used to be. He was afraid the wolf people had mind reading abilities or something because they seemed not to believe him for a second. It was either that or his terrible lying skills.
?Thank you young child? Faran said, bowing once more as he acknowledged Alakai. ?We are I your debt?. The wolf said no more than that and quickly turned and took sprint in the direction Alakai had pointed, Rangore following. It may have been Alakai?s own imagination but the wolves seemed to run with incredible speed and agility beyond anything he had seen.
well what do u think?
