Beliefs that individuals hold about knowledge and knowing, or what has been termed ''personal epistemology'', are related to learning and achievement in complex ways. These beliefs are also differentiated by discipline (e.g., math, science, history) as well as by judgment domains (e.g., personal taste, morality, meaning). This commentary on five articles on the domain specificity of epistemic beliefs outlines the persistent issues in this field of research, including issues of terminology, methodology, and the interrelation of domain specificity and domain generality, and provides an overview of how the authors address these concerns. Has an one had this problem that when you feel tired you know you should get some sleep but you can't this has been going on for a while now. What do you think it may be? I am not to sure why I am awake when I should go to bed, I tired everything I just can't fall asleep... and does anyone have this problem now or before? what do you do? I have been up for hours on end up Intel 6,7,8 am and that's not good I know I don't know what to do anymore this is going to be a problem that well affect my life negatively if not resolved properly. I am on WellBurtrin for depression but this was problem (sleeping) has not been that bad before treatment or when I was on treatment for severel months for my depression. Thank you. Well we went out for about a year and two weeks and its been about 3 weeks since we've broken up and about two of them have been constant arguments as she believes I dont care about her at all which I do and they have been resolved. But we broke up because she said she wasnt happy with me recently and some things shes done confused me alot like at one point in our relationship she didnt know if she loved me when she kept saying she did after 10 months and weird stuff that she was unsure of but messed around with my head. I like this other girl after about 4 or 5 days when we broke up and I told my ex because we promised we would tell each other (she liked another guy whilst we were going out but didnt cheat on me and he wasnt a reason why we broke up). But now the guy she likes is an idiot becuase hes been telling his friends she dumped me for him because hes better looking. Recently my ex has been sending me texts saying she loves me, she said shes been crying daily, phoning me, sending me heart breaking songs and I dont know what to do. I dont want her back right now because she broke up with me, I like this other girl and I dont want to be picked up and put down when she feels like it. I was happy with her but I dont want her back just yet, I still care about her and I dont want to lose her as a friend especially but I dont know what to do right now because when that other guy turned into an idiot she came back to me saying she misses me and shes crying. People are saying cut off contact with her but I know she'll cry so much, can I get some advise from another please ? Thanks. (more...)

For about three months I've been dealing with this issue and trying to resolve it. My vision started to get really distorted, it's as if I'm high on marijuana. (I also see trails). It's as if I'm spaced out and not here but I still am, it's almost impossible to explain. My personality is blank and bounces around and for about two months I've been really paranoid over super irrational things. For a week straight I had three anxiety attacks a day, but this is before I knew what was happening for sure. This story is longer than you think and I don't feel likes wasting my time writing it all out because I'm sure you don't want to waste your time reading it, I just want a little more advice or deeper prayers. So my girlfriend and I have been dating for a few months, reaching our 4th, and we have become extremely close. I have dated girls before, but this time its different and much more serious and it might turn to love. So we are both freshman in college, and we are now on our month long break. The first two weeks were especially tough, and alot of trust issues came up, and we were able to use ichat(an instant messenger for macs with video) to talk through our problems and resolve issues that we had with one another. I was honestly very nervous about being away for a month break, and wasn't sure about her past relationships w/ her exes, needless to say, we used communication to resolve our issues. The current issue is that her parents are refusing to let her be on the internet for more than 1/2 an hour. Now, this issue had come up before, in our first week, and her father said that her two younger brothers(very young 6 and 9 yrs old, she is 18) were complaining b/c she was not paying enough attention to them. This made sense, so my gf and I decided to txt every now and then throughout the day to say hi, and then actually chat on the computer when her brothers were both asleep. So we started a schedule that we would chat around 10pm her time, 11pm mine. My parents were ok with that, and her parents didn't say anything bad about it. So i assumed it was ok, until just the other night i was talking with her and she suddenly cut out. I kinda had a gut feeling that her internet was disconnected, and it turned out to be true, i found out through a txt(her parents disconnected it on her, no warnings i guess?). So now the issue is that she can only be online for 1/2 an hour. I understand that her parents make the rules, and we are still young, but in my household if my parents have an issue we talk about it before they just unplug things...it just seems childish to me, and she even expressed her own complaint that she feels like she is beign treated like a child when that happens. I told her to talk to her parents(tell them what she told me, and maybe come up with a compromise), and she told me she did, but that they told her again that her brothers are complaining they don't see her...but how does that have anything to do with her being online late at night! she works most of the day, and she has even told me that she has not spent a single moment with her friends while she has been home, every day has been spent with family. So I told her maybe the issue was me, and she told me that no, that both her parents adore me. So idk what to think, and idk if i should tell her to stand up for herself, i honestly feel bad for her situation, stuff like that is ok when ur a child, but when ur 18 ur legally an adult, and idk i feel that she loves her parents, but has an uneasy relationship with them, and i would like my gf to be happy with her parents. I also realize i cannot do anything but provide support for my gf, its her relationship with them, not mine, but should i push her to try and get her parents to reason, or should we just let time resolve this issue? As a side note, her parents do seem a little controlling, i think the issues stem from the fact that her father was a recovered drug user, and so i know from expereince, an uncle.. that people in those siutations can go from one extreme to another, and i feel that in this case her father is, only for some issues such as family time, a bit over controlling. Other than this issue my gf and I are fine, and i truly adore her parents, they are very nice people, its just instances such as this that confuse me, and honestly it does personally hurt, because i was so suddenly disconnected, it was like a slap in the face. and i know it wasn't directed at me, but honestly why do people act so selfishly and not think about the people on the other side of the spectrum? *forgot to add that both our families are on opposite sides of the country, so we can only see each other through video chat... Also We go to college together, but we come from different states all the issues presented in this question happened over our 1 month break, so i've been unable to actually see her in person, we are a real life couple, its just on breaks from school that we are seperated (more...)

its called Deus Ex Invisible War and its for Intel Pentium 4 pc's and I have way enough RAM for it and memory and 2.80 GHZ and it requires 1.3 GHZ I install it, the menu and audio works fine, even the DVD that comes with but the game loads...and just freezes at the load screen its like it loads up to a point...and just can't...something stops it It requires a 32MB Direct X compatible 3D graphics card I have a NVIDIA graphics thingy and its 3D the application error in MANAGE in My Computer says its an "Application Hangup" does anybody know what my issue could be and how i could resolve it? Im not looking for giant arguements. Respect others opinions Keep criticism to yourself. No one cares. etc. Im a christian myself but ive often thought of some questions i couldnt resolve. Whether it was from debates about christianity, message boards, tv shows, etc. That being said, forgive me if i tend to lean towards 1 religion instead of the others. Excuse dumb questions. 1. God says people who accept that Jesus died for their sins and repents are welcomed into heaven while others who are unbelievers are sent to hell. However, for those of us who havnt EVER heard of christianity, people who have mental illnesses, etc. Are they sent to heaven or hell? 2.Are Animals sent to hell or Heaven? 3.The Bible says Adam and Eve were the first to be created on earth. However ive heard humans didnt exist during the dinosaur age? 4.The medieval ages, the age when Alexander the Great was still conquering, and all those other time gaps, where was God? 5.If God's miracles where shown, why did people not record it (i understand scribes and writting the bible) but why didnt thousands of people record God's blessings? 6.Why do we still debate and argue about it in modern times?
