Tetons and The Snake River, Grand Teton National Park, 1942 Scenic Art Poster Print by Ansel Adams, 30x24
Renowned nature photographer Ansel Adams awe-inspiring portrayal of The Tetons and the Snake River reverently captures the majesty of nature in an iconic image that has become symbolic of wild America. The harmony between humanity and the wilderness is poignantly felt for a timeless and entrancing addition to any home, anywhere. Adams (1902-1984) was key to establishing a photography department at New Yorks Museum of Modern Art. He also was a staunch champion of wilderness preservation who impacted environmentalism most profoundly through his legendary photographs.
I hope that my work will encourage self expression in others and stimulate the search for beauty and creative excitement in the great world around us.

NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: GRAND CANYON - THE COURAGEOUS FIRST EXPLORERS

The lure of the unknown and a love of adventure drew John Wesley Powell and his crew of nine to the last uncharted waters of the American west in 1869. Their goal: to be the first to ride the mighty Colorado River through the Grand Canyon and map its unexplored territory. Experience the explorers' harrowing descents through furious rapids and their wondrous discoveries on land as they overcome treacherous white water, blistering heat, and near starvation, struggling for survival throughout their now-legendary adventure. Spectacular Grand Canyon footage and firsthand accounts from journals of the men re-create all the dangers, emotions, and hair-raising thrills of this daring 1,000-mile voyage in GRAND CANYON: THE COURAGEOUS FIRST EXPLORERS.

Open Question: Geography Riddles: Rivers, Lakes, Mountains, and Parks?
10 points to whoever gets the most correct answers! Easy 6th grade level!
1. I was born in the ocean long ago.
When I'm really active, I "glow with the flow."
I sit sandwiched between islands near a plate.
I belch and I burp and I determine others' fate.
I am very large- the largest of my kind.
A sight more spectacular is hard to find!
WHAT AM I?
2. Akin to a gulf- in the US I am found.
I'm also a ria, "a river that's drowned."
I live on the coast, partlyl surrounded by land.
My mouth is wide, and my edges are sand.
I'm in the Northest on the Atlantic Coast.
"I'm the largest one there" is my primary boast.
3. I'm skinny and narrow- a fine piece of land.
Humans dug through me with plans "oh, so grand."
I divide bodies of water and connect landmasses.
Through my man-made gorge, a giant ship passes.
I connect North and South American and two large oceans.
I can assist or detain man's locomotion.
WHAT AM I?
4.I'm a flat, low-lying plain.
Alluvium builds me up after floods from heavy rain.
I'm oddly shaped, like the foot of a bird.
i grow as the river's flow is slightly deterred.
I can be found in the Gulf of Mexico.
Two-hundred million tons a year is how much I grow!
WHAT AM I?
5. I'm part of a landmass- apoint of land.
In the Atlantic Ocean, I take my stand.
I'm part of a continent- on the southern tip.
Around my point, there's been many a trip.
I'm in the Southern Hemisphere; I form False Bay.
I jut out in the ocean- I'm in a sailor's way!
WHAT AM I?

Resolved Question: Was the Grand Canyon really carved by the Colorado river?
If scientist say the Colorado River carved the Grand Canyon, then why the point where the river enters the canyon hundereds of feet lower the the highest point of the grand canyon? this lower point I am refering to, is north of the Canyon seeing how all rivers in north America run north to south, and no river can run "up hill" how could the river have carved the Canyon? Is this just evidence of the world wide flood during the days of Noah?

Resolved Question: Why the 45 to 35 argument really is a valid one?
I know, I know.....old news. argument over, blah blah blah.
But just hear me out on this one ok?
Let me give the example of this past summer olympics. Michael Phelps won the 100 meter Butterfly by the smallest of margins. He won by one hundredth of a second. The man he beat, Michael Cavic.....said that yeah he lost fair and square. But he then added that "If we were to swim it again, I think I would win."
Michael Phelps in his book had something to say about that. He said "There will never be another "again." "
You have one chance and one chance only to make your case. On the grandest of stages. If you do not win on the grandest of stages, you have not one.
It is not about "what i can do" or "your potential" or "i bet that I can beat him if the winds are blowing southwest."
No sir, its about did you win on the grandest of stages when pressure called for it?
And the answer is Texas won in the Red River Rivalry. Both teams played their heart and souls out. And Texas came out ahead.
As much as I agree Oklahoma is a kick a.S.$ team.......i still think that Texas should be in it's place in the title game.
Thats all I have to say.
Royals- I know what you are saying. But lets look at it more closely. Sure, Tech beat The Horns. But when you look at ALL the losses between Oklahoma, Tech, and The Horns......The Horns have the "best loss."
Oklahoma lost by 10 to Texas.
Texas lost by 6 to Tech.
Tech lost by a helluva lot to Oklahoma.
Tech is out of the picture after such a terrible loss.

Resolved Question: What brand has good digital pianos?
I wanted a a grand piano but it's too big and epensive, and the upright is too expensive too. Considering the fact that I'm still gonna have to learn and my mom is cheap.......
But anyway, I'm looking at digital pianos at this site called musiciansbuy.com and the sale is like amazing. a kawaii piano is like 3000 dollars cheaper!! so please if you know,
suggest a digital piano that is good. doesnt matter what brand, but it has to be good?? I dont really care about the sounds they can make, since i'm more of the type like, if you wanna play other stuff, learn it for real.
A little about my using of piano or the sound i like-
-I like how River flows in you sounds on a piano so i would like it to be suitable for that type. isnt that like instrumental pop? yes, i am going to be playing the song for my fav. pop songs so i can have a instrumental LOL..
-doesnt have to, but would be nice if i can record what i play onto the computer with really good quality.
-dont mind about the price because the site is different.
-I listened to Yamaha U1? i really dont remember and Kawaii k25 and really I liked the kawaii better, prob cause it was playing river flows in you but idk...
thankyou anyway, and please list multiple ones, LOL
kyle n:
please read the entire question area. didnt i list they'r etoo expensive? and uprights arent horrible, some sound better then a small baby grand....
research helps y'know?

Resolved Question: Geez....NBA Players don't realize how good they have it. Am I right?
NBA players (Athletes in general) are just so damn spoiled, and dont even know how good life is for them. You see guys like Stephon Marbury or Terrell Owens whining and complaining about playing time and not getting the ball enough and what not. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Those guys are making more than $10 Million a year (not including Endorsements) and they are for some reason not satisfied. The money they make in one week can support a Normal family for a year.
There are people out there only making 30-40 grand a year and are still not complaining like these whiny b*tches. C'mon man get real, don't cry over stupid BS like "I'm not getting the ball enough." Cry me a damn river, I'll gladly trade places with you and make $10+ every year and stay in 5 star Hotles every game and drive Lamborghinis and have a mansion.
Am I right or Am I right?
The Average Proffessional Athlete makes around $2-3 Million Dollars a Year, While the Average Fire Fighter (actually saving lives not playing a Childs game like Basketball) is only making about 40 grand a year. Something is terribly wrong here.
I love Basketball, but no one desereves $10 Million Dollars a year for playing a Stupid Childs game that doesnt save people like Doctors and Firefighters do.
Mamba , you read my mind bro. I hate athletes whining about getting a raise. Where the hell is my raise, I work my @ss off too!

Resolved Question: Why do many scientists overlook a major Grand Canyon theory flaw?
Anyone who knows anything about the Grand Canyon has heard the story:
1. The earth is billions of years old
2. In the span of around 6 to 40 million years, the Grand Canyon was carved out by the Colorado River.
So here is my question:
If the earth is billions of years old, and over time a river can erode away the landscape, and there are thousands upon thousands of rivers on this planet, shouldn't there be at least a few hundred canyons like the Grand Canyon? I'm not talking about little trenches, but other canyons around the same size. What's the deal, do these geologists think that the Colorado River carries heavier water? : P
