Voting Question: Does this guy sound desperate for female companionship ?
Last night I got board and I decided to play a trick on a 47 year old man who was offering free room and board to any single women in a time of need on the website, "craigslist.com" in the rooms/shared section. Yeah, I know, you probably think I have too much time on my hands. Think whatever you want to. But this guy sounds a bit like a predator to me. I was just wondering what you guys think I should do next. Hey, if anything I'm having fun with it lol.
Hi, my name is Jenna Patrick and I'm 21 years old, just turned 21 actually. I have to say that 2008 was a very rough year for me. I'm really looking forward to a better year in 2009, hopefully : ) I lost my dad to lung cancer in July of 2008 and my mom died when I was 5 years old. I don't really remember her all too well unfortunately. I guess I'm kind of in a bind right now because I can't find an honest and modest job that doesn't require at least a 2 year college degree lol, it really stinks. Michigan's economy seems to be in such a rut right now. I'm pretty close to being broke, it's getting pretty bad. I grew up in Castle Pines North (Colorado) and lived there till I was about 14 years old. After that, my dad moved my brother Wyatt and I to Santa Clarita California for a better paying job. He was never very good to us to say the least, I got mixed up with the wrong crowd, one thing lead to another and I found myself performing in Adult films. I think I did what I had to do in order to get by. After a while, I started feeling a little guilty about my behavior and decided to move somewhere far away from the California scene. I was getting tired with it all. One of my previous managers who I worked for in California has been harassing me on the phone to the point that I had to change my number. He says that I still owe him $23,680 dollars, at the time that I was in his movies, he said that the extra money was mine to keep. I think he's just mad because I won't shoot for him any more. I hope you don't think that I'm a bad person or anything for liking sex, I just don't think that I'm in the right frame of mind for shooting films right now, that's why I needed a change and moved to Michigan with my girlfriend Kat. Her full name is Katsumi but everyone calls her Kat. She has been in some films with me too. Hey, I guess all I'm saying is that I could use a place to stay for a while with a nice guy. You don't have to email me back, but the polite thing to do would be to email me, or at least let me know that someone else took the offer already. I don't think I can pay you with money, but I'm sure we could work something out if you know what I mean, Kat actually has family in Novi Michigan but its starting to get a little crowded over there and I don't always get along with her mom, you can probably imagine. Well sire, thank you for your time and I hope to receive an email from you soon.
Sincerely Jenna
P.s. I left you a link to one of my videos just in case you were wondering what kind of movies I performed in. They're pretty hard core to say the least lol. Hope to here from you soon. Oh yeah, I'm the second girl that comes in, no pun intended. Check out that mountain in the back, it's beautiful.

well that was a very long e-mail,,and there was no link enclosed...let me explain the situation...i am a 47 year old single white male..i live in a very large one bedroom apartment,so sleeping arrangements would have to be made...i work a full time job so you would have the place to yourself the entire day every day...there is plenty of closet space here for you're clothes and stuff..you would not have to pay me any money...the only thing i would expect is that you buy you're own food and toiletries..my place is fully furnished and you would have access to the internet and unlimited calling on my land line telephone..so if this is something you may be interested in please feel free to write me back

Voting Question: How should I address an issue with my unethical supervisor?
I work for a before and after school program part time and get in about 30 hours each pay day.
Because The kids are on Christmas break, and they're bringing counselors in on a need basis, my hours got cut, which isn't a big deal because everyone needs those hours and I don't mind sharing. It's the holiday's, I get it.
The place that I work for has this arrangement where college students can come back at least once every 90 days and work all of the seasonal breaks and still stay on payroll.
This is the problem...
My supervisor, cut my hours by 90% in order to give an away college student the maximum hours.
That means that this pay period I'm only guaranteed 3.5 hours and the away college student gets 56 hours. Because I go to school, this is my only job and I rely on this job to pay the little bills that I have and to pay for school.
It's not fair that someone can just come in from college and boot me and others out of our jobs and take our hours.
How do I go about telling my supervisor that this is wrong and that I need more hours?
This is unethical right?
I have to pay for school too!
And if anyone has any Colorado Workplace Ethics Laws that you'd like to share, I'd really appreciate it!
:)
Thanks!
Ok! Good to know so far.
I have tried talking to my supervisor and she dances around the situation. And when she's not dancing around it, she's avoiding it all together.
This isn't fair and she's making me feel as though there's nothing I can do about it at this point. I think that I should go to human resources, but i'm not sure if that's the best move that i can make.

Resolved Question: If global warming is real, why are the glaciers expanding world wide?
We have all heard stories throughout the years about how the glaciers are the sure sign that global warming is real. However recent stories have shown that Al Gore's favorite scientist fudged his numbers for the UN IPCC Global Warming council. Not once, but twice now. See the story at:
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/christopherbooker/3563532/The-world-has-never-seen-such-freezing-heat.html
In doing my research for this question, I also found a web site that listed all the glaciers that are growing worldwide. See this link for the links to the actual stories:
http://www.iceagenow.com/List_of_Expanding_Glaciers.htm
This web site has numerous stories listed.

Norway's glaciers growing at record pace. The face of the Briksdal glacier, an off-shoot of the largest glacier in Norway and mainland Europe, is growing by an average 7.2 inches (18 cm) per day. (From the Norwegian daily Bergens Tidende.)

Greenland glacier advancing 7.2 miles per year! The BBC recently ran
a documentary, The Big Chill, saying that we could be on the verge of an ice age. Britain could be heading towards an Alaskan-type climate within a decade, say scientists, because the Gulf Stream is being gradually cut off. The Gulf Stream keeps temperatures unusually high for such a northerly latitude. One of Greenland?s largest glaciers has already doubled its rate of advance, moving forward at the rate of 12 kilometers (7.2 miles) per year. To see a transcript of the documentary, go to

NEW ZEALAND
All 48 glaciers in the Southern Alps have grown during the past year.
The growth is at the head of the glaciers, high in the mountains, where they gained more ice than they lost. Noticeable growth should be seen at the foot of the Fox and Franz Josef glaciers within two to three years.(27 May 2003) Fox, Franz Josef glaciers defy trend - New Zealand's two best-known laciers are still on the march - 31 Jan 07 - See Franz Josef Glacier

- Argentina's Perito Moreno Glacier (the largest glacier in Patagonia) is advancing at the rate of 7 feet per day. The 250 km² ice formation, 30 km long, is one of 48 glaciers fed by the Southern Patagonian Ice Field. This ice field, located in the Andes system shared with Chile, is the world's third largest reserve of fresh water.

Resolved Question: Help! I'm not sure anymore!.....?
We met by chance when he almost ran over me with a bike in Colorado. We started talking and realized we lived near one another in Kansas City, KS we soon started dating after that and had a great first year.
But we soon realized that we are complete opposites, we don?t share any hobbies and have different points of view on everything and it cause a lot of fights betweens the two of us. We have been together for 4 years now and broke up and got back together about 7 times now. Which I think is a bit much. The last time was the first time for me to leave him; we got back together because he begged me and did a large number sweet thing to change my mind. But it just doesn?t feel like it use to any more.
I know that every person I date I?ll just compare to him and that I don?t really feel like being with anyone else.
But I can?t continue with all the drama that comes with the relationship. I don?t know if I can handle it with everything else going on in my life. (Full-time student, Full- time job, family problems, health problems, etc.)
I know I can live with out him but I don?t I if I want to?.
I need some other point of view. What is your opinion?

Voting Question: Rustic elegant decor/color scheme....?
Hi. I have a lovely two story brick faced colorado colonial. Inside there is solid Alder doors and wide floor trim in Alder (simialr to knotty pine but nicer) and the interior windows are all trimmed in Alder as well. I am preparing a color scheme with Eddie Bauer colors that are rich and deep in intensity. Do you think a pallete of four colors is too much for the house? I am picking a color called Oatmeal (sort of a gray/beige (warm) for most of the open areas. Livingroom , three walls Parika and one wall oatmeal....kitchen shares space with open livingroom so pulling Parika in and ceiling trim with oatmeal. Seperate rooms not "visual" at a glance include office, diningroom and bedroom. Color schemes are hunter green, ivory ceiling, oatmeal sopphits and "chocolate" with ivory ceiling in master suite. I am worried....any input? I have lots of wood, wrought iron and stone in the house with leather sofas...I am hoping this warms things up a bit and will be softening the room further with Dupoini silk curtain panels.....honest feedback please.....thanks.

Resolved Question: Isn't that weird that there are people who share the same names as real celebrities and fictional characters?
I know that I asked a question like this before, but I like getting interesting answers to my questions from people and I would like to hear more. It's weird that there are some people in the world who share the same full name - given first name and surname - as famous people. Here are some examples that I picked up, as according to the links of its web sources:
1.) Peter Griffin, a long-forgotten disco singer who shares the same name as the "Family Guy" character: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beuM3HNnMkU
2.) Regina George, an already deceased girl who shares the same name as the "Mean Girls" character: http://www.reginageorge.com/
3.) Lisa Simpson, a University of Colorado student who shares the same name as the "Simpsons" character: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/3268407/detail.html
4.) Eric Forman, a "That '70s Show" character who shares the same name as the "House" character although with different spelling (though I'm more of a "That '70s Show" viewer than a "House" viewer): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Forman
Do you know that it is weird that there are people who share the same names as real celebrities and fictional characters? I suppose you have some of your own examples that you would like to share. Include the web link if necessary.
Oddly enough, I also knew a girl named Regina George. Not the already deceased girl mentioned above, but rather a high school student that I was acquainted with.

Share Print CommentsAs the election nears, examples of political dirty tricks are emerging with greater frequency.
On Tuesday, the Virginia Pilot reported that a phony Board of Elections flier was circulating the state "advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5." Voting, of course, is on the 4th only, creating fear among neutral observers and the Obama campaign that people were simply going to miss the opportunity to go to the polls.
Earlier this month, meanwhile, an anonymous flier was circulating in predominantly African-American neighborhoods in Philadelphia telling voters they could be arrested at the polls if they show up to vote with outstanding arrest warrants or unpaid parking tickets. This is also untrue.
Dirty tricks and phony fliers represent the dark underside of nearly every election. And certainly, when it comes to the current contest, these tactics started long ago. Last March, as Time Magazine noted, a letter was being sent around Colorado, warning that out-of-state students could not register if their parents claimed them as dependents in another state." One of the more common falsities making its way through email chains has warned voters in some states (updated below) that they will be turned away from the polls if they wore paraphernalia demonstrating their support for one particular candidate.
Since these antics are becoming more and more common we encourage readers to send in tips or episodes they have witnessed to the Huffington Post.
UPDATE: Several readers have pointed out that, in fact, several states do prohibit passive electioneering (buttons, t-shirts, etc.) in polling places. In Texas, for example, the law is as follows:
[A] person may not wear a badge, insignia, emblem, or other similar communicative device relating to a candidate, measure, or political party appearing on the ballot, or to the conduct of the election, in the polling place or within 100 feet of any outside door through which a voter may enter the building in which the polling place is located.
