JVC CUVD10US DVD Everio Share Station

With the JVC CU-VD10 ShareStation DVD Burner for Everio G Camcorders, you can create DVDs from the footage you've shot with your JVC Everio G-Series camcorders without the need for a computer. The JVC CU-VD10 connects directly to an Everio GZ-MG27, GZ-MG37 and GZ-MG77 via a USB cable and allows the camcorder to transfer footage directly to a DVD. The camcorder will convert .mod files to DVD video format, which the JVC CU-VD10 then makes into DVD video discs that can be played on most DVD players.
Once connected via USB 2.0, the camcorder automatically identifies the DVD burner and is used to control the burning process. The desired video clips are selected from a menu that appears on the camcorder's LCD, and with the push of a button they're transferred to a blank DVD that had been loaded into the JVC burner. One hour of video footage, which is about four gigabytes, takes approximately 45 minutes to burn to disc. Recordings are made using DVD-R/-RW discs.
The JVC CU-VD10 can also be connected to a Windows-based PC (Windows XP/2000SP4) for DVD burning and reading. When used with recommended DVD-R/-RW discs, it offers a write speed of up to 8x (4x RW), and a read speed of 8x (5x RW). It also offers a reading speed of 5x for DVD-ROM, and 10x for CD-R, CD-RW, and CD-ROM discs. The burner comes with Power 2 Go data writing software from Cyberlink for PC. Among its many advantages, recording directly to hard drive will give you the ability to quickly locate desired material, effortlessly delete unwanted video, and easily rearrange playback sequence.

Open Question: Does protectionism really work to control the illegal immigration problem?
Illegal immigration is a major problem. There are reportedly over ten million illegal immigrants in the United States and it's a growing number. However, protectionism, ie protecting our borders and deporting immigrants has not worked. Besides, will we ever have the man power to secure the borders? Consider the other national security issues this country faces. I think allowing illegal immigrants to truly assimilate into this country by allowing them to have some of the rights as well as responsibilites legal immigrants and citizens share rather than allowing them to hide under false identifications and reap the benefits from a system they are not fairly contributing into may save this country. There are reportedly billions of dollars being sent back to countries of origin instead of money being put back into our economy. In recent past, banks like BOA thought they were smarter than most and could make profit from the untapped and growing illegal immigrant population. I don't know if it really worked. But it poses the question, will giving illegal immigrants rights in exchange for their identification and enforcing them to contribute into the systems they are unfairly benefiting from work to bring these people out of hiding and prevent them from unlawful behavior and running away from responsibilities? As an employer and consumer, you may choose to ignore the issue b/c you are addicted to the low cost of labor and services. As a lawful, civic minded taxpayer with much to lose, you see the public systems deteriorating and becoming overwhelmed. You may even have suffered from personal loss as a direct result of an illegal alien breaking the law. I'd like to know what people think? Will protectionism work to nullify this problem or will giving them rights in exchange for their fair contributions into our systems help to take the burden off of the rest of us? Political parties on both sides have already realized they have to give them rights to prevent illegal aliens from going underground and giving them opportunities to flee. By giving them rights, you take away their anonimity and make it harder for them to run away, hide, and create other aliases.

Open Question: In what ways does the media mogul who owns all of these stations profit from WAR? ?
What other businesses does it own? What does it supply to the government, including to the Pentagon? What contracts did it secure for the "rebuilding" of Iraq"? Is it involved in the security business in any way? How about alternative fuel?
Does it profit at all from weapons and technology that are "sold" to Israel?

Open Question: Do you think college seniors are getting shafted in the NBA draft?
It seems so. Every year this decade, it seems that all the teams are salivating more about college freshmen (and when it was allowed, high schoolers). But time and time again, the seniors getting picked up in the draft have also had successful NBA careers, and some noticeable steals in the draft have been seniors too in recent years.
I won't use 2008 because it's too early to call
2007- Al Thornton (Clippers) was 14th; Aaron Brooks (Rockets) was 26th; Carl Landry (Houston) was 31st --- All are doing well for their teams and I expect it to continue.
2006 - This otherwise "weak" draft produced Brandon Roy (Blazers) at 6th and Randy Foye (T-Wolves) at 7th. I think they were shafted as well, and this draft had a lot of seniors in the lotto given that there weren't many high schoolers going pro, and weren't enough underclassmen who were ready to be lotto picks, which is how we saw JJ Redick and Shelden Williams go in the top 14, but I guess they deserved to make it up there anyways.
2005 - Danny Granger was 17th, nuff said. Ryan Gomes (T-Wolves) was 50th, and is doing well, at least statwise now.
2004 - Jameer Nelson, the National College Player of the Year was 20th folks! He should have been in the Lotto on Draft day and everyone was PO'ed about it. Tony Allen was 23rd... Emeka Okafor did graduate from UConn in 2004, but he only played for three years, so he doesn't count, even though he should be commended for his academic accomplishements.
2003 - David West, who won a share of the National College Player of the Year awards was picked 18th. Josh Howard, another split National College Player of the Year winner barely got in the 1st round at 29th. They both have become solid players at the very least.
Do you think seniors are being overlooked in the draft because scouts think they have maxed out on their potential despite the fact that NBA players don't hit their prime until their late 20's to 30? Is it because the scouts salivate more about underclassmen and players playing in the FIBA leagues? Both? It mesmerizes me sometimes.

Open Question: Are my extra curricular activities adequate for a good college with my GPA?
I'm currently a Junior and plan to apply to colleges such as University of Chicago, Emory, Duke, and Wake Forest. My GPA is low (3.67 unweighted, 4.5 weighted), so I'll probably have to rely on extra curriculars, etc. a little more. Please let me know your honest opinion; if it seems inadequate, I'll still have some time to improve. Thanks!
~ 4 years of policy debate-- first in the district in 2008, National tournament qualified (competed in Las Vegas), Quarter finalist and octafinalist at 2 national tournaments, First place at the Samford Institute tournament, several speaker awards
~ In 2008, I single handedly founded an international literary and art magazine which has published works from people from all across the US, Sweden, Canada, etc. It has received around 10,000 readers. I'm also currently the editor-in-chief. I've also designed and maintained the website for the magazine.
~ In late 2008/ 2009, single handedly founded an online organization that encourages people of all ages to engage in hobbies that will make their lives more meaningful. It has members who's shared their success stories from all across the U.S. I've designed and maintained the website for the organization.
~ 10 poems/photography published in 8 international literary and art magazines. Each have about a 20% acceptance rate.
~ Established website where I sell my photography, and have had pretty good income in place of a job.
~ Co-president of the AI club in our high school for 3 years. During my co-president years, the club has won the "best interest club" award from our high school.
~ I helped establish another club in our school during Sophomore and Junior year. I'm currently the co-vice president of that club, and it has more than 100 members.
~ Piano for 6 years-- state champion in 2007, honorable mention in state in 2008, district winner for 3 years (fresh-junior), winner of sonata competition in 2007, consistently invited to play in private recitals, etc.
~ I've volunteered at a selective Science center, the Multiple Sclerosis Association of America. I have over 500 hours of community service.
~ I've worked in a lab at a state university over the summer.
~ I've attended 2 national debate institutes over the summer
I'm sorry that was so long. I've just never shown anyone my extra curriculars, so I'm a bit insecure about them.
Please let me know if it's very unique, mediocre, or poor. Thanks!

Open Question: Are you following the attack on media outlet in Sri Lanka? Per review I would like to know is the following:?
The Colombo Post (now defunct) was edited by Sri Lanka?s Consul ? General in Toronto. I have read several very different perspectives on the closure of the paper but what seems to stand out is that the paper was releasing information from unnamed sources that deemed to be from the diplomatic station that were not following proper lines of communication to the Government. The Consul-General is supposed to be releasing/sharing information with the government via secure transmission lines or diplomatic pouch not through the newspaper. This is especially true due to a war with a non-conventional enemy the LTTE. And priority of information should first be with the government and only after government clearance should be disseminated through the media. This is not significant of a fascist government but of a non-linear/multi-national terrorist threat. The exact location of these "leaks" is still unknown but it has been surmised to be of detriment.
http://www.lankabusinessonline.com/fullstory.php?nid=1258452693
This item from US Ambassador Robert Blake?s office looks a bit more professional on the surface. Mr. Blake?s item appears from a business publication and Mr. Blake chairs the Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka ? known as the ?American Chamber of Commerce?. Usually diplomats work through a Bureau of Investment not a ?Chamber of Commerce? because of the level and complexity of diplomatic dealings. In this manner, it is unusual. In Mr. Blake?s piece it is stated that Sri Lanka is considered ?One of the most dangerous places for journalists in the world after Iraq? What both Sri Lanka and Iraq are learning is that threats posed against the established government include hit-and-run incidents that share a very high degree of mutual occurrence. These events include synchronized, international attacks from different terror elements in a same or sequential time frame. A recent event that comes to mind were the spate of multiple child abductions ? these occurred in a period of few days in Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Iraq and one other country that is not currently coming to mind. Prior to that there was a spate of attacks on diplomatic drivers, prior to that there was a series of assassination attempts on Presidents and Prime Ministers. This is indicative of terror networks that I first noticed the existence of in 2006. I have not only reported these events to my government, but also to yours, to Europol and the British Home Office. Whenever I see another sequence-I report it. It has become standard procedure in places such as the Middle East, Israel, Iraq and Sri Lanka to recuse press coverage and NGO/INGO interaction with terrorist elements or within high security threat areas because press/NGO security cannot be guaranteed in a non-linear, multi-national, synchronized threat environments. The press wants autonomy of movement without consultation of military or government but at the same time wants the government to instantaneously act/react when an incident is perpetrated against that body. There is an ongoing investigation Mr. Blake to ascertain what and who caused the attacks at Sirasa studios. This piece also does not have a by-line. It is also in no way representative of unbiased journalism or even professional journalism as it has spelling and contextual errors as well as lack of journalistic style that would leave it to be categorized as a propaganda piece. It is well known that not only does the government have military so does the militant terrorist organization LTTE. And though the LTTE recruits may be thin, malnourished and non-professional, the command and supervisory forces are well built, well fed, clean cut and well organized. They are known to drive about in ?white vans? which they have received from several sources including NGOs.
