Voting Question: homemade gift idea for husband?
My family is exchanging homemade gifts for Christmas this year. I'm really excited about the gift I've made for my daughters but I have no clue what to do for my husband. A little history... I've made him several homemade gifts in the past, but I could never tell if he really liked them or if he thought they were silly. Some of the things I've done include photo albums, a CD of our favorite songs, coupons, and a book of poetry that I wrote. I'm stumped about what to do this year because none of my previous ideas were particularly successful. He's interested in outdoor sports such as hunting and fishing, and he just bought a truck that he loves. I thought about putting together a basket of stuff for the truck but I don't know if that counts as homemade. Any suggestions? (more...)

Resolved Question: Have You Ever Tried Driving In Heavy Snow ...?

I'm a Fedex Express Courier living in Las Vegas, Nevada and it started Snowing around 8:40 - 9:00 a.m. as I was driving. It finally stopped at 8:00 p.m. or so followed by Rain. This is the heaviest it's Snowed in Vegas since 1979. The Las Vegas Valley is covered in Snow and right now it's still Raining. It got so bad my truck had trouble driving in reverse (the Gears would stick) and I got stuck twice before continuing on. Is it Snowing/Raining where you are now? Thumbs up and thanks for all who answer! For those who might not understand : Our trucks have Summer tires. Heavy duty and wide track for traction. They aren't set to drive under these conditions. It has nothin to do with my driving skills. We drive in rain all the time. Just not Snow. As for driving in Reverse? We have to back into side streets and ramps for receiving departments at businesses. There is so much wet snow it turns into slush and messes with the trucks underneath. I guess It does something to the drive shaft which is unprotected ... I'm not a mechanic so I don't quite understand it. We still drive in Reverse when needed. (more...)

Resolved Question: granite curb installation seems incorrect, what do you think?
I am having a building put up and the site guys installed sloped granite curb around the parking lot right into the dirt, rather than on a bed of gravel or concrete. A truck ran it over in one place after a rainstorm and pushed the alarmingly thin granite pieces into the ground. They say this is a temporary install to get a CO and they will fix it in the spring when they put the final asphalt coat on. They cant do a full install now because of winter. The ground wasn't frozen at the time though. It seems like a waste of effort to do the install twice and I am worried they might disapear by then. Does this sound correct to you? Resolved Question: how do i know if he likes her?
me and my b/f have been together for 2 years, and i love him and i know he would never ever cheat on me! but still. there's this girl we work with, and she's basically perfect. and they seem to have so much in common. they work together 2 days a week, and i work with him 2 days a week also, but when they work, it's just the two of them. well he's 20, im 18 and she's 24. they both hunt, like big trucks, fast muscle cars, and apparently they talk a lot when they're at work. they share food (he never shares with me when we work together) and they exchanged phone numbers "in case of a work emergency" (we work at a pool and he's the maintenance guy so when something breaks, he's the one to fix it) but why would he need HER phone number? me and her are friends and i'd say she's pretty much my best friend. he says nothing's going on and that he doesn't like her, but how can i know for sure? i mean she's gorgeous! she's a model and has the best body i've ever seen. she does kick boxing and stays in really good shape. i'm just average, and it seems like they have so much more in common than me and him. like i said, he'd never cheat on me, and she would never do anything to hurt me, but how can i know what they secretly think of each other? am i over reacting? here's some pictures of her http://www.flickr.com/photos/31946998@N07/ (more...)
