Open Question: Why Do Christians Support the Anti-Christ System of Mammon?
Why Do Christians Support the Anti-Christ System of Mammon? Note: Please Read Entire Page and pay Attention to References which work as proof in claims. This Is a Real Question I am Seeking Educated Answers Please Do not Stick to Mindless Childish Insults, Also France Which is a Marxist Based Government And Canada Are Much Older Then America So Don?t Bring Up Russia Also remember America is like Iron were a republic that Makes us exactly like the old roman empire Were not a true democracy like parliament Please Do not bring up Adam Smiths book "Wealth of Nations" China Canada and France do just fine. In fact its America that?s economically failing, we owe China money, So much for capitalism. Also Socialism is not communism nor is the feudal system of nobility. Do not make the foolish statement that China is capitalist, Trade does not equal capitalism. Public ownership of property as to have no bourgeoisie class is communism. This in addition to Marx prediction of proletariat overthrow from a depression that will systematically continue to decline shows us that economic inquiry is not always capital favorable. Now when you consider peak oil is this idea so far fetched, its obvious capitalism has only produced a waste economy. Once more god is not about money morality comes first, he who is not for is against. We need money is not an excuse there are other systems of economics that work and actually are better suited for equality and hard work moral ethic. Also capitalism as modern day is widely accepted via Max Weber that it stemmed from Protestant ethos and was not a by product of industrialization. Please do not state that Christians try to fix these issues, republicans show a direct phallus to that statement as most of them are conservative Christians and are not for Social welfare or work release. Please do not also state crime or other sanctions are the reason we don't change. We live in a Democratic republic founded on freedom such things are not necessary. Also If your against Henry David Thoreau's civil disobedience your against Martin Luther King, Civil Rights and Feminism your even against abolition of slavery. He who is not for is against the two books "John Locke The two treatises of Government" and "Max Weber The Spirit Of Capitalism" are the reference of mammon I speak of in which god is said to be of money and is also the modern scope of the protestant ethos and government as well as economics. Remember you can not love god and mammon you will love one and hate the other. Karl Marx has said "Law religion and morality is to him so many bourgeoisie prejudices upon which lurk in ambush just as many bourgeoisie interests." This quote has been proved true by sociology, history and political science. This is mainly due to the fact that the ruling class must institute prejudice in pursuant to its own interests in order to continue to rule. It can not give place to any religious or moral opposition so it must validate itself politically buy any means needed out of fear. Do not state Mammon is ill gotten gains because the early church demonstrated a socialistic quality and in no way dose capitalism demonstrate the parable of the shrewd manager. Please do not also bring up madness of a micro chip. Christ stated that some around him would not taste death, till all should come to pass. Explain how the nobility was thrown off and called not of god or god ordained. Explain the prejudice of the duke of bridge water and how Christians serve to condemn people to hell as in the prejudice of the book Huckle Berry Finn and Don Quixote. Please also explain how slaves were called of Babylon and many killed for asking for freedom in church validation that the wealthy slave owners were covered by the blood of Jesus showing indeed the idols that have sold out our morality for profit and our need of the divine where many are slain for the validation of this system of economics and government which portendes to money P.S. I am using a computer at a college library and am working to help change the system through education and I do work and pay taxes so don?t use that baseless answer for attack on ethos I am very creditable and am using real sources other then my own thoughts this is in no way a rant (more...)

Resolved Question: What can I take pictures of for my Sociology photo essay?!?!?
Using your own camera or an inexpensive one-time use (usually at Target for less than $5), take 12-15 photographs of images you think reflect a set of sociological ideas we have covered this semester. If you include people in a non public setting, you should as their permission. Select 6 of the 12 (save the others) and glue one per page. (If you already know how to do it, you can also print these pages with photos digitally). For each photo you select, write a two-three paragraph narrative explaining what sociological ideas you see reflected in the photograph and how they are manifested. Your analysis should involve multiple concepts or ideas and you should also apply the sociological theories best fit your example. Try to select photos that cover a range of topics across the semester including issues related to our city location. Some examples- Social structure Social stratification Groups* Features of groups Aggregate Social categories Formal organizations Bureaucracy Social facts* Social class Race Ethnicity sustaining-stratification Ideal type Weber?s features of bureacracy Inequality Cultural lag Group think Prejudice Discrimination Social institutions Roles Socialization Social Interaction Social Self/Identity Norms* Values Cultural Relativism The Sociological Imagination Deviance* Science Theory social change Ethnocentrism Status* Matthew Effect Inequality Individual vs institutional discrimination gender Marx and Weber?s theory of class Sociology as a science (more...)

Resolved Question: Failed Bush Economics?
Want to really learn something? Take 5 and read this. Plenty of blame to go around. John McCain's campaign is under fire for his campaign manager's ties to Freddie Mac. Rick Davis's lobbying firm, it turns out, was still receiving monthly payments until very recently, despite previous assurances that the relationship had ended three years ago. Meanwhile, McCain is running television ads tying Sen. Barack Obama to Franklin Raines, the CEO of Fannie Mae who was forced out for misstating the company's earnings. Obama vigorously protests that Raines isn't really one of his advisers, though Raines had previously said that he advised the campaign. But McCain doesn't need to focus on Raines. Obama selected another Fannie Mae CEO, James A. Johnson, to head his vice presidential search. Johnson had been executive assistant to Vice President Walter Mondale and a lobbyist before his nine years at Fannie Mae. Fannie Mae's regulator, the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight, found that Fannie Mae had misrepresented its expenses during his tenure, allowing him and other officers to receive larger bonuses than warranted. After revelations that Johnson had received loans directly from Angelo Mozilo, the CEO of Countrywide Financial, he resigned his position with the Obama campaign. (Given his experience, Johnson could probably have helped Obama choose a better vice president than the gaffe-prone fabulist Joe Biden.) Obama is also the second-biggest recipient of campaign contributions from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, behind only Senate Banking Committee chairman Christopher Dodd. What's remarkable is that the calculation by the Center for Responsive Politics covers 20 years, from 1989 to 2008, and yet Obama is at the top of the list after only one Senate campaign and four years in office. What all this really indicates is how deeply Fannie and Freddie have been enmeshed in Washington politics. They hire top lobbyists from both parties, give lavishly to members of Congress from both parties, and generously subsidize lots of influential think tanks and charities in the Washington area. Robert Zoellick, who was a top aide to James A. Baker III in the Reagan and Bush I administrations, handled Fannie Mae's lobbying before joining the second Bush administration as U.S. Trade Representative and president of the World Bank. Jamie Gorelick was deputy to Attorney General Janet Reno in the Clinton administration, then joined Fannie Mae as vice chair during Clinton's second term. John Buckley, nephew of conservative icons William F. Buckley Jr. and James L. Buckley and press secretary for the Bob Dole and Jack Kemp campaigns, spent 10 years as head of communications for Fannie Mae. Just a few months ago Fannie hired Lorraine Voles, former communications director for Vice President Al Gore and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, to work in its communications shop alongside Charles Greener, former spokesman for the Republican National Committee. According to the Associated Press, Fannie and Freddie have spent $170 million on lobbying in the past decade and have given more than $16 million to members of Congress, as well as some $10 million in soft money donations to Republican and Democratic committees. "Fannie Mae's 51-member lobbying stable, according to its most recent disclosure, includes former Reps. Tom Downey, D-N.Y., and Ray McGrath, R-N.Y.; Steve Elmendorf, a Democratic political strategist and former congressional aide; and Donald Fierce, a longtime GOP operative. Freddie Mac's list of 91 lobbyists includes former Reps. Vin Weber, R-Minn., and Susan Molinari, R-N.Y." Many more aides to Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Newt Gingrich, and senior members of Congress have worked for Fannie Mae or served as well-compensated members of the Board of Directors. Is it any wonder that for years Fannie and Freddie were able to fight off any attempts to restrict their size, their scope, or the huge salaries they paid their officers? Over the years Fannie, Freddie, and their friends in Washington were able to block proposals to privatize the two huge government-sponsored enterprises or to eliminate the federal guarantee of their debts. In the past decade they frustrated efforts to impose such reforms as requiring them to submit to regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission; to adopt financial accounting standards; to follow bank standards for capital requirements; and to shrink their portfolios of assets from risky levels. The Bush administration pressed to strengthen the regulator of Fannie and Freddie, but Congress wasn't interested. Plenty of people warned that Fannie and Freddie were ticking time bombs, including Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan and Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers. Yet as Alex Pollock of the American Enterprise Institute noted in 2005, "In spite of the opportunity presented by their acutely embarrassing accounting scandals costing many billions of dollar and the missteps that caused both of their top managements to be forced out, legislative action may end up stalemated. By contrast, the Enron and WorldCom scandals rapidly resulted in the harsh Sarbanes-Oxley Act." There have been complaints about the "federal takeover" of Fannie and Freddie, but in truth they were deeply embedded in the federal government already. They had the best of both worlds lavish private-sector salaries and taxpayer guarantees to squeeze out their competitors until their house of cards came crashing down. But ultimately all those lobbyists did their job, and the taxpayers will deal with the mess. Man .... you first four are a bunch of point missing silly a$$ people Bob .... You complain about CATO (my post is NOT from CATO or Fox) Then you site the Post? You are making yourself look silly in front of the class. (more...)

Voting Question: Is this Credit Reporting fraud by the hospital, my friend who just became a resident took his daughter ?
to the hospital and a billing error caused him to get a bill when the baby was covered by healthy families, at that time they did not have social securities issued so they just gave a name and address. The hospital sent a bill with the name mispelled, and my friend told them it was their mistake and wasnt paying, so that was that. He then took his daughter again to the same hospital months later this time they charged the insurance correct and had socials issued so he gave his, now today he got a letter from the Collection Agency Grand and Weber stating that the bill was in collection and could have negative impact on his credit. I see this as fraud because the hospital is taking private information ( social) from one account and applying it to another with a mispelled name and no social. Is this legal or illegal by the hosptils part, I mean they cant just take a social and apply it to a mispelled name and send it to a collection agency right, it could be 2 different people right? What recourse doe my friend have? Retired accountant, my friend tried everything possible to get this straightened out and there was no way for the bill to be covered, the hospital made the mistake of not billing the insurance when it was valid, they actually never did, when they tried it was no longer active, not my friends fault ok.
