im stuck right now. my dad, step-dad, and his son (step brother) are all not saved. Unfortunately ive just recently realized that ive been living a lie, i went to church all my life, i actually was born in it! but after falling asleep almost every sunday, and choosing not to go sometimes, i had to get surgery on my heart. my pastor spoke to me about how blessed i am:] i halfway believed it though. I understand that in order to be saved, you have to realize that you were not perfect, and it took me until i was 12 years old to realize i couldve died from being born until now at any given moment because of my heart, and only by the grace of GOD i was still alive. My pastor came to my hosital and drove all night in the rain and snow. WENT OUT OF HER WAY FOR ME! and was really brave during my surgery, even though i couldve broke down and ask the LORD why:] but it just took a couple sermons after the surgery that made me understand that someone loves me no matter what. I know this is long but please bear with me. I just got a new step family last april and my brother is the same age as me (13) and he calls us opposites. I love him but we go to the same school and last year at our school i wasnt saved. i was just learning about the LORD and i didnt cuss, but my heart wasnt healed (by the LORD not the doctor) My problem is that it took the people i used to hang out with and my brother to realize that this life isnt right at all and teres gotta b something better. But now im 13 and I love the LORD with all my heart:] he listens to secuar music and hes mad cuz my mom whos saved isnt getting him an i home cuz she doesnt like his music. but hes so offended cuz he wants my mom and i to respect his music secular cussin and all. then he brings up how i used to listen to that and before i was saved i agreed with him. but we are two completely different people. i understand that sin is sin but i didnt cuss or talk about sex 100% of the time an dhis mom any saved so she lets him do anything:[ he likes to bump his music on his headphones and yell the words of every song when im peacefuly doing my homework. I love my mom cuz she bought him a bible for young men! but he only reads it on wednesdays when we have youth group that he hates. all my best friends who love the LORD like me can tell that he isnt saved. And he thinks they hate him, when they dont, they just arnt his kinda people. He tries to impress everyone and thinks he so cute and everyones supposed to like him. but really he says he respects me being a christian but i dont think he does because he isnt saved and he comes to youth group like its some game. when i take it so seriously. i mean yeah i know im a beginner and im reading through the bible cover to cover, im on numbers but im pacing myself. Our parents say we cant talk on the phone or the internet with the opposite sex, no myspace, and i agree, but he doent he breaks every law and wonders why i break a couple but dont get caught, what he doesnt know is i actually tell my mom about what i did unlike him. my pastor says one day hes gonna be a postor, but how if he does everything the LORD hates, i know the scripture in the Bible that says if he denys the LORD 2 times, leave him alone, but i dont wanna leave him alon, i want to get him and my real dad saved, i got my dad a bible for my dad this christmas and i constantly ask him if hes read it yet, bt i see him put it off and going to the club or being with his girlfriend instead, whenever we talk i quote a scripture when it pops up and i praise the LORD for that, i feel like im losing my faith cuz its so hard seeing these unbelievers so close to me. I know everyone sins but man... I wanna give the prolems to my GOD but i feel like im done with them, i want to say more but im not used to witnessing to unbelievers. i want to but i need help, what scriptures, what mindset, i want people to feel the LORDs presence when i enter the room. they say im a nobody at school. if anything i wanna be known as the one who tried who ssaved at least one person at school i wanna be a pro in two years when i start highschool i wanna constantly talk about him without worrying about what others think. ok so our youth was on a church trip to gatlinburg, tennessee. it was a 3 night 4 day trip. all my friend ate was some pizza the first day and some nutty butters on the way back. i and my mom knew she had a pass with bulimia maybe a year ago. she wasn't feeling well the whole time and the last night we were there we were getting ready to go to bed and she sat up and put her head in her hands. she said she got real dizzy and was like that a little over an hour. the other youth leaders came in there and tried at least an hour and so did i to get her to eat one little cracker, but she never did. ok so on the way back we had bout 45 min's to go til we were back at our church and she just passes out, her eyes were rolling back in her head, she was breathing but she was life less. we pulled her arm up and it just fell right back down. she was alsswallowingng. we even shooke her and put an achole under her nose but it was nothin. we called the emt's and they came. still counldn't get her awake. when she received at the hospital he finally woke up. she was out of it for an good hour in a half. my mom told them she had a pass with bulimia and we found a box of laxitives in her purse. but of course she told them she didn't do any of that stuff anymore and the reason y she didn't eat was because she just wasn't hungry. yall please help me and give me some advise on how i can help her she is my best friend and i don't want to lose her. she keeps telling me that she is fine and that she doesn't think she's sick PLEASE HELP!!!!!! 12 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer. I have had it,I HATE that day halloween,I am not going to celebrate it anymore,I hate everything about satans holiday,why would people put razor blades in apples and in candy and then give them out to little children knowing what is going to happen to them,why would anyone poison candy and then give it away(my family has fresh candy from the store) this year I will watch Christmas movies on Halloween,I will not even answer a question about Halloween, We are all familiar with the fact that every year, hundreds of children are poisoned or injured by ingesting tainted Halloween candy. Sadistic madmen seem to come out at this time, threatening the safety of our nation?s youth. However, there is one issue that inevitably fails to arise, the fact that Halloween candy tampering is basically a myth. READ THIS IF YOU LOVE TO trick or treat.-I will also post this on my 360 page till October. Tales of tampered candy and others like it are based more on our unreasonable collective fears, fueled by the media and hearsay, than on factual information. The fear surrounding tainted Halloween treats goes back for decades and may have originally stemmed from an incident in 1964. A New York housewife, annoyed that many of the trick-or-treaters were too old to be asking for free candy, decided to make up packages of inedible treats to give the teens. The packages contained steel wool, dog biscuits and ant buttons. To her credit, she did clearly label the ant buttons "POISON" and cautioned the teenagers of her little prank. No one was injured, but the potential for harm was there, so the District Attorney prosecuted and she plead guilty to endangering children. National panic about candy tampering didn?t reach an epidemic proportion however, until the New York Times ran an article in 1970 claiming that "Those Halloween goodies that children collect this weekend on their rounds of ?trick or treating? may bring them more horror than happiness." (NY Times, 10/28/70, pg. 56) The article went on to give specific and horrifying examples of potential tamperings. Since the Times article, the media has kept that fear alive. Even "Dear Abby" got in on the action by reminding parents of the danger that "?somebody?s child will become violently ill or die after eating poisoned candy or an apple containing a razor blade." The truth about the dangers might not have been discovered, were it not for California researchers Joel Best and Gerald Horiuchi, who studied national crime data going back to 1958. In their 1985 published study, they found only 76 reports of any kind of tampering. Most of them turned out to be mistaken or fraudulent. Out of these 76 reports, only three incidents of children dying were reported to be tainted candy cases. In one case, the father of a Houston boy gave him arsenic laced candy to collect on a large insurance claim. In the second case, a boy stumbled across his uncle?s stash of heroin, ingested some of the drug and died. This boy?s family tried to hide the facts by sprinkling heroin over some of his other candy, but the family soon confessed to their cover-up. And in the third case, a Los Angeles girl had a fatal seizure that was first blamed on tainted candy, but later discovered to be the result of a congenital heart condition. Has massive tampering of foodstuffs ever occurred? We all probably know that the answer is an unfortunate "yes." Following the aftermath of the 1982 Tylenol murders, there was a sudden increase in tamperings that reached a level never before achieved. During this brief moment in time, there were various objects inserted into Halloween candy, and poisons introduced into non-Halloween foods and medicines, however, no significant injuries were reported over the Halloween weekend. So where does this leave us? Unfortunately, the media hype of the few events that have actually occurred serves as a potent enough reinforcer of our beliefs that an article like this will have little effect in the long run. However, you now have the information that you need to make a reasonable decision regarding the practice of accepting candy over this holiday weekend. The real question is, "Will you use it?" He could still remember that day when he had made this deal. ?Pardon Sir?? ?Nothing Arthur.? Heaven was just like Arthur had imagined as a child. There were billowing clouds in the sky. The sun shone from beyond the horizon. And there was a pearly golden gate, detailed with fine jewels. ?Anthony is that you?? a voice called out from beyond the gates. ?Is that King Anthony Charles The voice was unlike anything the Arthur had ever heard in his life. ?Are you finally going to take up that offer to get your youth back?? the voice said again. It was so smooth, so beautiful, and so godlike. ?I was beginning to think that you would never show your face here again? ?Unnamed God I am in need of you? replied Anthony. ?Will you show my advisor you power? If he is ever going to be a good advisor to me, he must know everything I know.? The God pondered this request for a moment. Anthony knew she would, she loved to show off. After a few moments the voice said ?Fine then, I?ll show your advisor my power.? In the distance a figure emerged from the billowing clouds. Arthur looked over to Anthony. Arthur saw that Anthony had stiffened his shoulders and his hands were balled into fist to tightly that his knuckles turned ghostly white. This made Arthur slightly afraid of this unnamed god that Anthony had called out. He was about to ask if he should be afraid but out the corner of his eye, he saw something. The god had emerged. She was beautiful. Her long blond hair blew in the unfelt wind. Her stride was smooth as if she was floating and not walking. She was dressed in a simple yet elegant pure white gown. She was the most beautiful thing that Arthur had seen in his lifetime. Arthur took a glance at the beautiful girl?s face and noticed something odd about her eyes. It wasn?t like any other pair of eyes he had seen. Her eyes were blacker than night. When he looked harder, he noticed that the color of her eyes were an unnatural red. It was a deep red color that reminded him of blood. ?It?s time to show this friend of yours the full extent of my power? the magnificent woman said with a giggle in her voice. With grace she lifted up her arm to touch Arthur. Arthur was frightened about what was going to happen. The look on Anthony?s face had worried him deeply. He squeezed his eyes shut and braced himself, expecting pain. He jumped when the god spoke, ?Calm down. I will not harm you. I?m just going to show you?? He did not open his eyes. The moment that Arthur and the God made contact was full of bliss and full of evil. Arthur had been exposed to all of the God?s power. It made him re-believe in the religion that he had disposed of many years ago when he joined the army. At the same moment Anthony sprung into action. This was the only shot he had at making his dream become a reality. Anthony had learned from his earlier experiences with the God that she was most weak when showing other people her power. Just before she would show someone her godly power there was a few moments that she became weak. That was the perfect time to strike the beautiful god. A flash of steel came from the sleeves of Anthony?s robes. And the steel knife plunged itself in the chest of the god. As she screamed out in pain, the God?s pure white dress, now with the front covered in blood, turned black. Her long beautiful blonde hair had now gone black as well. Her once beautiful black eyes were now whiter than what her dress had been, but the blood red pupil remained. Arthur still did not open his eyes; he was expecting something horrific and vile. But he opened his eyes just a small crack to see that somehow they were back in the hall. He deiced it was best no to ask questions and keep his eyes closed. There are friendly Christian congregations almost everywhere! Going to church is about worshipping God, not judging other people. Jesus Christ gave up His life and rose again three days later to accomplish God's great purpose--eternal salvation for all mankind! But, each one us has to ACCEPT His gift of salvation; God doesn't make that decision for us. When we believe and trust in Jesus Christ, He takes away all our sins and covers us with His own perfect righteouness. In Christ, God's amazing grace and forgiveness are freely available to each and every person on earth. A church fellowship is also about building strong communities, connecting with neighbors, and making new friends. In addition to the familiar Sunday-morning worship and children's programs, many churches offer extra worship services, Bible-study groups, youth activities, community service, volunteer opportunities, outreach programs, and other ministries throughout the week. If you've been to church before and thought Christianity wasn't for you, please, keep on trying. You may need to visit several different churches, remembering always to pray for guidance, before you find the right one for you. The key is: never give up! True peace, joy, freedom, love, happiness, fulfillment and eternal life are like rare and precious jewels. To gain them, we have to seek them patiently and persistently.
