Open Question: I received a letter that i was chosen for the US youth soccer National team. Could it be really true?
Ok so I received a letter from 365 SPORTS containing information about how my soccer skills have been seen by some scouts and that they invite me to go and join the US National team's Intensity Training Camp followed by an opportunity to compete at the Olympic Style Sweden Gothia Cup Soccer Tournament. Now they say I need to attend some meeting where they will tell me more info about it. I was just wondering has any one of you received a letter like that or if you know someone that received one. I'm worried that they will ask for money and will it be worth it to go? (more...)

Resolved Question: I got invited to a people to people sports program for bowling?
I just got it in the mail today it says. I am invited to train with Team USA Head Bowling Coach Jeri Edwards and copete with student athletes from over 25 countries at the Youth Friendship Games, an Olympic-style festival in Austria in July 2009. As a People to People Sports Ambassador, I will have the opportunity to improve as an athlete and gain a better understanding of the world. So I was looking at other things and mine said bowling other people have it for football, baseball and soccer. Will I only play bowling? Because I'm not good at football, baseball, or soccer. Omar Arellano is overrated for only a couple of games that he did good in I don't have anything against him, but he is getting too much credit for little moments he did good in Cesar Villaluz is younger than him and is a lot better, and has played important games with mexico Elias Hernandez has done good Esqueda has shown up in bigger games, like in Brazil and Arellano hasn't even played in any of Mexicos youth teams if he was really good he would've came up at the age of 17 or 18 especially coming from a family of soccer players (more...)

Resolved Question: Do you miss the activities/sports you quit?
I danced from the age of 4 to 13. I did jazz, tap and ballet, and I'm now 18 and I must say I miss it. I can honestly say I wouldn't sign up for dance classes again, but I miss being at the studio and the excitement I got from getting my costumes for dance recitals. When I danced I felt so free. The other activity I am starting to miss is soccer. I played soccer from the ages of 5 right through till this past summer (17 turning 18). Now soccer was a big thing for me. I played competitive soccer that required me to practice 3-4 nights a week plus a game, sometimes two games in one week. I spent my weekends at tournaments. I had soccer all year round. Outdoor went from may to september. And indoor was October-April. Many parents made playing impossible with all the politics as they all wanted their child to become pro. But now that I'm 18 in first year university, youth soccer is over. I might play this summer for a women's team, but it will never be the same. All those countless times I tried to get out of going to soccer practice will be truly missed. So my question is does anyone else have similar experiences? (more...)
