Resolved Question: How do you define between a dream,a premonition and a divine visitation?
Personally I believe in just dreams ,however I would like to know your point of view,
I had a dream about a year ago where God visited me,she was stunningly beautiful ,she was sat next to a large black object about 10 feet long and 8 feet high and shaped like a large boulder that she explained was heaven, she walked me around it and asked what it was I wanted to know, she said "you have a question",, I said "Why do we pray?" she replied that praying was not the point, and that we havn`t understood what it`s all about yet,she explained that she was building something and that it was built from the love we make here on Earth, and that when we die our reward is that we have contributed a small amount of love to help her build this something, that bit wasn`t explained to me but it was important to her,all our job was was to love,,,It woke me really sharply and I explained it to my wife who I had to wake up and tell her, then I went back to sleep and dreamt the whole thing over again, almost exactly
Ok so was that a divine visitation?
Two nights ago I awoke sharply having just dreamt that I had turned on the morning news and Obama had been assassinated,it was really vvivid as well
So was that a premonition?
The last night I was being chased by lions,a common theme in my dreams,
So are they all just dreams or what?
I was going to stick this in the "dreams" section but thought I might get a more diverse response here,

Resolved Question: Are our beaches drowning? ?
Is GCC why Broad beach in Malibu, California isn?t broad anymore? ? ? one of Malibu's most beautiful beaches now resembles a battlefield of makeshift bunkers? as wealthy homeowners increasingly seek to protect their beachfront and homes. Trucking in sand and building walls isn?t carbon-friendly, and imported sand eventually gets swept away, while the fortification of shoreline with concrete or boulders often accelerates sand erosion. The natural flow of sand to replenish beaches has diminished, as rivers and streams have been dammed and lined with concrete to direct sediment-laden flood waters safely out to sea.
From the link below:
"Depending on the slope of the beach, every inch of sea-level rise claims an average of 50 inches of land. That makes the long-term prospects for California's signature beaches less than promising, as they are caught between the encroaching sea and increasingly fortified oceanfront development."
Is it time to abandon the fight to save our sandy beaches and focus monies elsewhere? Waves and tides gnawing at the land would turn back-beach dunes, cliffs and hillsides into beaches of the future.

Resolved Question: Why do Democrats not understand the wealthy keep the rest of us employed?
Now, I was under the impression, because I listened to Senator Obama during the campaign, that he's only going to raise taxes on the rich, 'cause they've got it. They don't need it. They have more than they need. They can afford it. So he needs to raise taxes on the rich and cut taxes on the, quote, unquote, "middle class." So he wants economic recovery to bubble up from the bottom or whatever, which is very tough to do when you're at the bottom and you're broke. I don't know how you bubble anything up when you're broke, but that's not the point. I have a story here from AP-Obama, and it's about three Colorado ski resorts being "forced" to lay off workers. (gasping) It's from the Durango Herald. We read the Durango Herald every day here. It's part of our show prep rotation. (laughing) It might embarrass them so much they go out of business.
"This ski season is shaping up to be the worst in years, said a Canadian ski-resort company that has announced it has laid off workers across a dozen resorts, including three in Colorado. Vancouver-based Intrawest Corp. hasn't said exactly how many workers it let go, but company officials say the weak economy is squeezing the ski business." Now, who is it that goes out to Colorado and skis? No, it's not the poor. The poor are working in the hotels. The poor are working in the restaurants, the, quote, unquote, poor. The poor are working at the ski resorts where the rich are not going because the economy is cutting into their disposable income and they think that they've got tax increases coming.
"Colorado's Steamboat Ski & Resort, for example, is more than three hours by car from Denver. Because of that, most visitors fly in and stay several days, while smaller resorts closer to big cities have an easier time surviving a poor economy. 'They're not as dependent on out-of- state and international visitors,' Dave Belin, director at Boulder-based research firm RRC Associates, told the Rocky Mountain News. In a survey of skiers conducted online last month, RRC found that most skiers planned to ski as often as last year. But they planned to cut back in other ways -- on lodging, lessons and other extras such as traveling a long way to get to a ski mountain." See, I thought tax increases and other trivial income killers amounted to chump change to wealthy Americans. But this is what I told you, and this is the main reason I said we gotta support Senator McCain, in fact, because of his tax policy was right.
Every time you hear Obama or some Democrat talking about raising taxes on the rich to help the little guy, it's the little guy that gets shafted, and this ski resort story is a classic example. So we have to take the wealthy down a notch or two. How could that hurt anybody? Why, that couldn't hurt anybody! We gotta take the wealthy down a notch or two. They give up a little chump change, Obama can spend it on welfare checks for those who don't pay income taxes, and life is good for everybody! Except raising taxes is not chump change to rich people. That was just Obama shooting his mouth off. It turns out when the wealthy are pummeled by bad economic news of any kind they pull back, too. Nothing is chump change, and so now they're going to visit ski resorts less. And when they, the people that pay the freight by going skiing go less or don't stay overnight in hotels and so forth the ski resorts, three of them owned by a Canadian firm, are laying off the little guy, the guy who's supposed to benefit from tax increases on the rich.

Resolved Question: Can anyone figure out what this poem is about or help me find the analysis of it???? 10 POINTS?
One Morning-Eamon Grennan
Looking for distinctive stones, I found the dead otter
rotting by the tideline, and carried all day the scent of this savage
valediction. That headlong high sound the oystercatcher makes
came echoing through the rocky cove
where a cormorant was feeding and submarining in the bay
and a heron rose off a boulder where he'd been invisible,
drifted a little, stood again -- a hieroglyph
or just longevity reflecting on itself
between the sky clouding over and the lightly ruffled water.
This was the morning after your dream of dying, of being held
and told it didn't matter. A butterfly went jinking over
the wave-silky stones, and where I turned
to go up the road again, a couple in a blue camper sat
smoking their cigarettes over their breakfast coffee (blue
scent of smoke, the thick dark smell of fresh coffee)
and talking in quiet voices, first one then the other answering,
their radio telling the daily news behind them. It was warm.
All seemed at peace. I could feel the sun coming off the water.

Resolved Question: can you read this essay for me?
In The Pearl by John Steinbeck, plenty of themes and symbols are brought up. Because of the clear themes and symbolism, The Pearl is known as a parable. Steinbeck also introduces us to a great amount of animal imagery which could be described as fable. Throughout the novel, the pearl not only symbolizes beauty, it symbolizes human nature, and in addition- evil.
The concept of beauty symbolized by the pearl is more than outward appearance. The pearl that Kino finds not only guarantees the couple a beautiful future, but Coyotito a future full of education, happiness, and wealth, which Kino and Juana find gorgeous. It also promises the town an educated man who can help them from being cheated out of money because of their illiteracy.
An example of the beautiful future Kino and Juana will share is that one of the first things Kino wants to do with the riches of his pearl is marry himself and Juana in a church, with new clothing and even shoes. Kino responds to Juan?s question of what he will do now that he is a rich man by softly speaking, ?We will be married- in the church? (31) Kino would also like to protect his family and his town, which is a very kind thing to do, and makes him a very attractive man. A riffle purchase is the best way which he thinks to protect his family; and in order to protect his town, they will need an educated man who will not be cheated by the pearl buyers. ?My son will read and open the books, and my son will write and will know writing. And my son will make numbers, and these things will make us free because he will know-he will know and though him we will know.? (33) Kino has a beautiful plan thought out for his town, his son, and his marriage to Juana.
Symbolized by the pearl, Steinbeck show us a clear picture of human nature and what can distort it. The pearl was really a test of human nature in the town of La Paz. Curiosity is part of human nature, and it is especially true in Kino?s town. The townspeople all followed Kino to the doctor?s house after Coyotito was bitten by the scorpion. And after he was rejected, Steinbeck put into words the actions of the onlookers. ?And now a wave of shame went over the whole procession. They melted away. The beggars went back to the church steps, the stragglers moved off, and the neighbors departed?? (15) They were all interested in what was going to happen to the small child, and none of them wanted to see Kino be refused medical treatment for his baby.
Another example of curiosity is that word of Kino?s discovery of the pearl spread like wildfire throughout La Paz. ?The news swept on past the brush houses? to the doctor where he sat with a patient whose illness was age? The news came early to the beggars in front of the church?? (28) In addition, while Kino was announcing his plans for his newfound earnings, the people of the town all stood in the doorway of his house nodding at everything Kino was saying. ?The neighbors, close pressed and silent in the house, nodded their heads at his wild imaginings?? (32) The news of Kino selling his pearl was widely known through the town as well. ?It was known among the neighbors in the brush huts, among the pearl fishermen; it was known among the Chinese grocery-store owners; it was known in the church? Word of it crept in among the nuns; the beggars in front of the church spoke of it?? (54) The curiosity of his peers was not an unpleasant thing, but it does get in the way of Kino?s judgment later in the book.
Though the pearl does symbolize beauty and good natured humans, it also comes to represent a darker side of the town. Evil played a key part in the later chapters of the book. For instance: at first, the doctor refused to help the poor family, calling them ?animals?, and saying he is not a doctor, not a veterinarian. Motivated by greed, he is quick to offer up assistance after he hears about Kino?s find. Additionally, there was an attempted robbery on the family?s house later that night. Fortunately though, Kino was able to fight whoever it was off with his knife. ?Kino crept into his breast where his knife hung on a string, an then he sprang like an angry cat, leaped striking and spitting for the dark thing he knew was in the corner of the house.? Kino now knows that many people are his enemies, and that there would be several attacks on himself and his family in the future, all for the pearl.
Furthermore, Kino starts to become obsessed; the pearl begins to develop into his whole reason for living. ?This pearl has become my soul... If I give it up, I shall lose my soul.? (87) Kino will and does kill for the pearl. Juana realizes what has taken over her husband and attempts to throw the pearl into the ocean. This only ends up in Kino beating Juana to get the pearl back. ?He [Kino] struck her [Juana] in the face with his clenched fist and she fell among the boulders, and he kicked her in the side? (76) Juana forgives him, and they continue on, only to have to escape the town because K
i wrote it, and i just wanted opinions on it and stuff....

Resolved Question: Blonde Jokes!!?? (Sorry)?
1. Three blonde friends died together in a car wreck. They found themselves standing in front of the pearly gates with St. Peter. He told them that before they could enter heaven, they had to tell him what Easter was about. The first blonde said, "Easter is a big holiday where we give thanks, have a big feast and eat turkey.""Nooooo," said St. Peter. "You don't get in."The second blonde said, "Easter is the holiday that we celebrate Jesus' being born of the virgin and give gifts to each other.""Nooooo," said St. Peter. "You don't get in, either."The third blonde said, "Well, I know what Easter is all about. Easter is a Christian holiday which coincides with the Jewish Passover. After Jesus celebrated Passover with His disciples, He was betrayed by Judas and turned over to the Romans. They crucified Him on a cross. After He died, they buried him in a tomb and put a huge boulder in front of it.""Very good!" said St. Peter. The blonde continued. "Now, every year, the Jews roll the stone away and Jesus comes out. If He sees his shadow, we have 6 more weeks of basketball."St. Peter fainted!
2. A blonde and a redhead met for dinner after work and were watching the 6 o'clock news. A man was shown threatening to jump from the Brooklyn Bridge. The blonde bet the redhead $50 that he wouldn't jump, and the redhead replied, "I'll take that bet!"Anyway, sure enough, he jumped, so the blonde gave the redhead the $50 she owned. The redhead said, "I can't take this, you're my friend." The blonde said, "No. A bet's a bet."So the redhead said, "Listen, I have to admit, I saw this one on the 5 o'clock news, so I can't take your money."The blonde replied, "Well, so did I, but I never thought he'd jump again!"
3.Two blondes went to the pound where each adopted a puppy. The joy of their new best friend was quickly overshadowed when they got home and the first blonde said, "I think we're in trouble, how are we going to tell them apart?" This lead to several hours of concentration until finally, the second blonde said, "I've got an idea. We'll tie a red bow around my puppy and a blue bow around yours." The next day the first blonde comes running up to the second when she got home, "Oh no, I can't tell whose puppy is whose... they've pulled the ribbons off while they were playing." "OK, we need to find a better way to tell them apart," says the second blonde. After several more hours of concentration, they came up with the bright idea of getting different colored collars. Again, the next day, the first blonde comes running up to the second as soon as she gets home, "Oh no, I can't tell whose puppy is whose... they've pulled their collars off while they were playing.""There's got to be some way to tell them apart," says the second blonde. After several more hours of concentration, the first blonde finally comes up with another idea, "I know! Why don't you take the black one and I'll take the white one!"
4. Three blondes are sitting by the side of a river holding fishing poles with the lines in the water. A Game Warden comes up behind them, taps them on the shoulder and says, "Excuse me, ladies, I'd like to see your fishing licenses.""We don't have any," replied the first blonde."Well, if you're going to fish, you need fishing licenses," said the Game Warden."But officer," replied the second blonde, "we aren't fishing. We all have magnets at the end of our lines and we're collecting debris off the bottom of the river."The Game Warden lifted up all the lines and, sure enough, there were horseshoe magnets tied on the end of each line. "Well, I know of no law against it," said the Game Warden. "Take all the debris you want." And with that, he left.As soon as the Game Warden was out of sight, the three blondes started laughing hysterically. "What a dumb Fish Cop," the second blonde said to the other two. "Doesn't he know that there are steelhead trout in this river?"
Sorry they are long and some of them are old too. i still laugh though. you may have heard them b4.

Resolved Question: How Is My Story?
Tick..Screech....BANG...Those were the numerous sounds in the head at the moment when the accident happened. All i could remember was my boyfriend Cole swearing next to me in the drivers seat. I saw the yellow yield sign standing directly in front of the path the red sunfire that Cole was driving and then everything went black. The good thing about waking up in a used, smelly hospital bed but seeing that all your limbs are still intact and you dont have to live the rest of your life missing an important limb. Plus, i loved seeing all the annoying news channel reporters standing around waiting to get your story. Luckily for me, my older brother was there "speaking" with the reporters, which was proabaly telling them to get the heck out of here until he beats them.
I couldnt just sit there. It was like putting a large bone in front of a hungry Rottwieler. I stood up and walked over to my brother. He looked at me and smiled and put his insanely larghe arms around me and gave me a hug. "Im glad your alright" he said. I muttered thank you under my breath and started towards the bathroom. "Hey Daren, where is Cole"?. With that simple question i saw my cheerful brothers face turn into a insanely sad frown. "He left, hes gone Kristy". "well where did he go"?. Daren walked over to my white hospital bed and sat down and motioned me to join. I walked over to the bed and sat down. I heard him breathe a big swift of air. It seemed like hours but finally he talked. "Cole died at the scene, part of the windshield cut open and stabbed him into the stomach and he bled to death." Suddenly, the room became a dark hole that seemed to suck me in. I felt like i just woke up from a bad dream. I tried to open my mouth to say something but all that came out was a cry. A cry that showed my heart was torn out of my body. A cry that made my own brother cry also, and I never had seen Daren cry. Tears fell down from my eyes as big boulders. When my mother and father walked in , they immedialely ran over and cradled me as if i was a child once more. They looked at Daren, my Dad whispered to him. "Does she know"?. That was a question that didnt need to be answered. My parent swalked over and hugs both me and Daren. Then, All four of us began to cry. That was something that didnt occur often. I felt lifeless as if i didnt have a reason anymore.I looked up to the white celing and screamed, "Why wasnt it me". That night, i cried myself to sleep.
Morning came as if the sun wasnt supposed to shine. It was gloomy and storming. The crack of the thunder made me wake up out of my sleep. It turned to the digital clock next to my bed and glanced at the time. "ugh, only 10"? Usually this was super early but i felt as if i didnt want to wake up. As i began to sit up out of the bed, i saw something that i didnt expect. It was Coles parents, and that scared me more than anything right now. I didnt know if they wanted to yell at me or tell me something that would make me cry even more. I bravely walked out of bed and walked over to the chairs that were positioned parallel to my bed. "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Tallo.." But that was all i could say. The way the tears lingered under their red and swollen eyes made me lose the power i had in me to be able to carry on a conversation with them. I ran back and layed on my bed and began to cry. It was hard for me to even look at them. To see my boyfriends parents look at me with such sadness. I looked at The Tallos as if they were my parents. Me and Cole dated for about 2 1/2 years. After what felt like an eternity, I felt Mrs. Tallos small and fragile body sit on my bed and said in a soothing voice, "Kristy, he loved you so much". I sat up and looked at her. "Im sorry, he didnt deserve for this to happen". No words were said after that except when Coles father came over and grabbed my hand. "I just want you to know this, I bet your the only one Cole wanted to spend his last moments with, and i bet he left this world happier than ever because you were next to him". I looked to the floor and tried to think of something to respond to it. I had never heard Coles father say anything that nice to ANYONE. His dad was more of a Hostile man, who spoke exactly what was on his mind which was usually negative. With that, Mr. Tallo grabbed my hand and i looked up at him and saw tears falling down from his eyes. "Thank you for making my sons last 2 1/2 years the best but, can you tell me everything that happened that night"?. I looked up at him and began to shake. 'I..I.. can promise that ill try" i said studdering and wrapped myself into the hosipital bed sheets and rested my head down on the pillow and closed my eyes.
The next morning my mother woke me up telling me i had some visitors. I sat up and looked around. There was 4 people in the room. My best friend Nikole, her twin brother Ryan, Coles brother Kurt, and a small child who was standing right by Kurt. He had to of only been shy of 6 years old. Nikole and Ryan began to briskly walk over and smiled bigger with each step. Nikole ran over and gave me a big hug. "Im glad your ok, you had me so worried". I dozed off a bit. Its not that i wasnt excited to see her, its just that i have heard the same statement over and over again. I WAS NOT fine. Cant anyone tell that. I got into a car accident and the most amazing thing in my life died while i lived. Was it too hard to see?. After Nikole stopped rambling on she began to leave. I didnt think Ryan was going to say anything except his usual story. Instead to my astonishment, he walked over to me. "Can i talk to you somewhere more private" he asked. "Um..well sure i guess" i answered him with a slight questioning tone in my voice. I got out of my bed and started toward the hall. "Okay, what is it?" i asked him, but after seeing his face after i turned around, i knew something was wrong. "Ryan, what is wrong?". He let that question go for a while and there was a awkward silence for a good 5 minutes. Finally, he began to try to talk but with that opening of his mouth, he began to cry. Ive known him since i was 4 and i never had seen him so upset. He was more of a happy-go-lucky kid. It never crossed my mind that he was sensitive.
"Its my fault" he stammered, and then slumped down onto the ground with his long legs outstretched in front of him. I sat down next top him and put my head on his shoulder. "Its not even the least bit your fault ryan". "Think about it Kris, do you remeber where he was driving home from that night"?. I didnt answer because he knew that i knew. "Stop this" i told him. "Its not your fault he got into and accident and its definitly not your fault that he died". He looked at me as if i was a chicken with its head cut off. "Im sorry, but i understand if you dont want to talk about this, you know my number so call me when your ready" he said with a deeply depressed tone. "Ill see you later". With that he turned around quickly and walked away.

Resolved Question: my short story so far?
All four of us began to sob. I felt lifeless as if i didnt have a reason anymore.I looked up to the white celing and screamed as if nothing else mattered, "Why wasnt it me". That night, i cried myself to sleep.

Resolved Question: can you imagine putting up with this?
For about 12 years, the parents and older brother of Jon Benet Ramsey, a 6-year-old beauty pageant kid from Boulder CO, have been implicated in the death of that young girl. Books were written, interviews were given, and it was pretty well understood by many people, (including me, who, with a degree in journalism should have known better) that one or both of the parents was guilty, or covering the other one's behind...
now, incontrovertable evidence has established that none of the family is guilty.

how does society ever pay back the parents, (the mother is dead from cancer) and make things right for these suffering people?
