Open Question: Is it safe to use regular rocks in an aquarium?
I am setting up a goldfish aquarium, and I don't like the gravel that comes in kits because it gets very messy. I would rather use my own rocks because they'd be easier to clean, and they look nicer. Is this safe for my fishies? All the rocks I am considering are from the freshwater Great Lakes, by the way. I know ocean rocks can contaminate the water. I was just wondering if freshwater rocks can have the same effect. (more...)

Open Question: Where is a nice lake area around Perth that is pet-friendly and not to busy?
I want to take my girlfriend and 18 month old Bullmastiff to a nice lake area for a half day trip. I don't want to go to the beach as it is our usual haunt, sand gets everywhere and it gets hot and packed. I am really desperate as Google only finds accommodation, not any activities, etc. Any suggestions would be great. I want a nice lake that we can all have a bit of a splash in. .... think that if they are not accepted or respected they are not being treated fairly.(who gives a damn!) if a man walked down the street and said that he was superman or jesus he would be laughed at and probally thrown in jail or at the very least an asylum. he would be talked about and ridiculed called crazy and maybe even beat up. yet a fag can walk down the street dressed as a woman trying to talk and look like a woman and that,s supposed to be ok and normal? what,s the difference,they both are demented and delusional and should be treated like the nut case that they are. first of all the bible say,s be fruitful and multiply,so if today every woman was to sleep with another woman and every man with another man once they die that would be it for gods plan to fill the earth. but of course they don,t care about god just their own demented needs.second the word say,s in hebrews that the murderers,thives and HOMOSEXUALS will share in the lake of fire with all unrepented sinners.god created you to procreate and before you say that god made you and he don,t make mistakes you are right. he didn,t make a mistake you did. so don,t try and blame god or the rest world for your decitful and unethical nature. and one last thing before you say that the bible say,s "judge lest ye be judged" that,s talking about spirtual matters not worldly we have every right to judge.(what do you think the word "discern" means) for better words i don,t have a heaven or hell to put anyone in only god can do that. but i do know that homosexuals are on their way there by bible standards. a man that lays down with another man and made love to as if "it" was a woman should be hung and spit upon you disease carrying psycho. your own family don,t want you around and they wish you were dead you go aganist gods wishes and then expect to be treated like royalty well my god don,t reward "premedated sin" that,s why you live your lives in the closet because if what you were doing was right you would,nt be ashamed of it and that,s why you hide. if being a punk is considered to be natural then so is being a murderer or a thief because they can argue that they were born like that to. Open Question: My dog got stepped on by my horse.?
My dog, Mimi is a 30lb, 8 year old black lab mix. We were told she was a black lab when we got her at the humane society but she stopped growing ;) we love her to bits and I know everyone says this but she really is the greatest dog! So well behaved, sleeps in til' noon instead of waking you up, great companion/loyal and protective. Anyway, a few months ago I had her at the barn with me. She is normally great with the horses and is NEVER disobiediant with me. But this day she was all over the place and being "naughty" Anyway, I took my horse over to the wash rack and as I turned him I heard the sound that no dog owner/lover would EVER want to hear...espically when you know what it is from. It was from 1100 pounds of Hanoverian Show jumper with steel shoes coming down on ounzes of my dogs front left paw. It was horrifiing. My dog instictivly went running (3 legs) over to my car. I got somone to finish up with my horse and rushed my three legged, bleeding companion over to the vet. I think she was in mild shock...just sitting there...looking at me. When I got into the vet office and finally had to say "my dog just got stepped on by my horse" I started balling. To make an already long story short, she was one lucky pup. My 30 lb dog got "attacked "(it was an accident, obviously) by my 1100 lb showjumper and walked away with 2 broken toes. Her out side (farthest from the dew claw) toe on her left paw had broken in two places and the one next to it in one place. She was lucky. Most dogs I know that have experienced what she had lost toes, broke the whole paw or even lost a foot. Anyway, 6 full casts and 4 "half casts" later and 5 months of not being able to do anyhting other than have mommy carry her around she was able to use her foot again :) It has been about 3 months now since her final X ray and clean bill of healther and she is a happy and healthy dog, yes...but nothing like what she was. She used to be right next to me everywhere I go. She would hunt, swim in our lake and creek, play fetch, chase the horses, and follow me everywhere. Now you can find her laying by the furnace or limping around from one cozy spot to anyother. I know this is long but does anyone have any idea on how to hlp her as far as comfort? She is overall not very limpy but this one incident has changed her completely.
