Resolved Question: Which one of these 13 cryptids are more credible to exist?
Ahool Giant unknown bats are reported to reside in a region of western Java, plus similar reports under different names from Vietnam and the Philippines; possibly known as Orang-bati in Seram, Indonesia. Andean Wolf These unrecognized mountain dogs are seen in South America. Bigfoot The classic Sasquatch of the Pacific Northwest is well-grounded in hundreds of years of sightings, encounters, folklore, traditions, hair samples, and footprint evidence, for starters. The Patterson-Gimlin footage captured images in 1967 of what appears to be a good type specimen of this animal. Caddy These unknown Sea Serpents (perhaps Mystery Cetaceans?) living off the coast of British Columbia are a popular figure in Canadian cryptozoology. Champ Giant prehistoric-looking creatures supposedly lurk in Lake Champlain, a 109 mile lake that borders New York, Vermont, and Ontario. Chupacabras Also called ?Goatsuckers,? these bizarre Caribbean and South American cryptids are five feet tall biped creatures with short grey hair that have spiked hair and reportedly drain the blood through throat punctures of the livestock they kill. Giant Anaconda Reports have been made of 100 feet long snakes on the Rio Negro of the Amazon River basin. Jersey Devil This regionalized name hides these perhaps a variety of creatures that have been haunting the New Jersey Pineland forest for over 260 years. Mokele-Mbembe For over two hundred years there have been reports of living Sauropods (dinosaur) in the remote Congo area of Africa. They may be confused with accounts of other local cryptids, including aquatic rhinos and monitors. Mothman A local name for giant owls (also called Bighoot) which have been sighted for over 100 years in the West Virginia-Ohio area, and elsewhere in North America. Ogopogo This is Canada?s most famous type of water monster, the specific inhabitants of Lake Okanagan in the south central interior of British Columbia. Thunderbird Large condor-like birds, perhaps Teratorns, appear to still roam the skies of North America, along regular migration routes. Loch Ness Monster Nessie is the most famous Lake Monster in the world; they are said to inhabit this loch, an extremely deep Scottish lake. (more...)

Resolved Question: Christians, do you really believe that there are no transitional fossils thus making evolution invalid?
If so explain this, Transition from primitive jawless fish to sharks, skates, and rays: Cladoselachians (e.g., Cladoselache). Hybodonts (e.g. Hybodus) Heterodonts (e.g. Heterodontus) Hexanchids (e.g. Chlamydoselache) Transition from primitive bony fish to holostean fish: Palaeoniscoids (e.g. Cheirolepis); living chondrosteans such as Polypterus and Calamoichthys, and also the living acipenseroid chondrosteans such as sturgeons and paddlefishes. Primitive holosteans such as Semionotus. Transition from holostean fish to advanced teleost fish: Leptolepidomorphs, esp. Leptolepis, an excellent holostean-teleost intermediate Elopomorphs, both fossil and living (tarpons, eels) Clupeomorphs (e.g. Diplomystus) Osteoglossomorphs (e.g. Portheus) Protacanthopterygians Transition from primitive bony fish to amphibians: Paleoniscoids again (e.g. Cheirolepis) Osteolepis -- one of the earliest crossopterygian lobe-finned fishes, still sharing some characters with the lungfish (the other group of lobe-finned fish). Had paired fins with a leg-like arrangement of bones, and had an early-amphibian-like skull and teeth. Eusthenopteron (and other rhipidistian crossopterygian fish) -- intermediate between early crossopterygian fish and the earliest amphibians. Skull very amphibian-like. Strong amphibian-like backbone. Fins very like early amphibian feet. Icthyostegids (such as Icthyostega and Icthyostegopsis) -- Terrestrial amphibians with many of Eusthenopteron's fish features (e.g., the fin rays of the tail were retained). Some debate about whether Icthyostega should be considered a fish or an amphibian; it is an excellent transitional fossil. Labyrinthodonts (e.g., Pholidogaster, Pteroplax) -- still have some icthyostegid features, but have lost many of the fish features (e.g., the fin rays are gone, vertebrae are stronger and interlocking, the nasal passage for air intake is well defined.) Transition from amphibians to reptiles: Seymouriamorph labyrinthodonts (e.g. Seymouria) -- classic labyrinthodont skull and teeth, with reptilian vertebrae, pelvis, humerus, and digits; amphibian ankle. Cotylosaurs (e.g. Hylonomus, Limnoscelis) -- slightly amphibian skull (e.g. with amphibian-type pineal opening), with rest of skeleton classically reptilian. The cotylosaurs gave rise to many reptile groups of tremendous variety. I won't go into the transitions from cotylosaurs to the advanced anapsid reptiles (turtles and possibly mesosaurs), to the euryapsid reptiles (icthyosaurs, plesiosaurs, and others), or to the lepidosaurs (eosuchians, lizards, snakes, and the tuatara), or to most of the dinosaurs, since I don't have infinite time. Instead I'll concentrate on the synapsid reptiles (which gave rise to mammals) and the archosaur reptiles (which gave rise to birds). Transition from reptiles to mammals: Pelycosaur synapsids -- classic reptilian skeleton, intermediate between the cotylosaurs (the earliest reptiles) and the therapsids (see next) Therapsids (e.g. Dimetrodon) -- the numerous therapsid fossils show gradual transitions from reptilian features to mammalian features. For example: the hard palate forms, the teeth differentiate, the occipital condyle on the base of the skull doubles, the ribs become restricted to the chest instead of extending down the whole body, the legs become "pulled in" instead of sprawled out, the ilium (major bone of the hip) expands forward. Cynodont theriodonts (e.g. Cynognathus) -- very mammal-like reptiles. Or is that reptile-like mammals? Highly differentiated teeth (a classic mammalian feature), with accessory cusps on cheek teeth; strongly differentiated vertebral column (with distinct types of vertebrae for the neck, chest, abdomen, pelvis, and tail -- very mammalian), mammalian scapula, mammalian limbs, mammalian digits (e.g. reduction of number of bones in the first digit). But, still has unmistakably reptilian jaw joint. Tritilodont theriodonts (e.g. Tritylodon, Bienotherium) -- skull even more mammalian (e.g. advanced zygomatic arches). Still has reptilian jaw joint. Ictidosaur theriodonts (e.g. Diarthrognathus) -- has all the mammalian features of the tritilodonts, and has a double jaw joint; both the reptilian jaw joint and the mammalian jaw joint were present, side-by-side, in Diarthrognathus's skull. A really stunning transitional fossil. Morganucodonts (e.g. Morganucodon) -- early mammals. Double jaw joint, but now the mammalian joint is dominant (the reptilian joint bones are beginning to move inward; in modern mammals these are the bones of the middle ear). Eupantotheres (e.g. Amphitherium) -- these mammals begin to show the complex molar cusp patterns characteristic of modern marsupials and eutherians (placental mammals). Mammalian jaw joint. Proteutherians (e.g. Zalambdalestes) -- small, early insectivores with molars intermediate between eupantothere molars and modern eutherian molars. Those wondering how egg-laying reptiles could make the transition to This actually goes on longer yet I ran out of characters. Where are the Christians on this question? Absent. So pathetic. billyboy- you are smarter than that, open your mind to real science and the truth it brings all of us. Meg M- Please forgive me for the stereotype which obviously did not include you. Resolved Question: Hey christians, give me proof God exists, because none of it makes sense...?
1. the whole God story is ridiculous if you really thing about it. WHY would a god who is all powerful, even more powerful than "satan" let sin creep into his perfect little garden? 2. Where the do dinosaurs, cavemen, and all that stuff come from then? 3. I have heard on a christian talk show that you can't save yourself, only god can come into your heart. MANY, MANY times i honestly asked for forgiveness, willing to change because i feared going to hell. but he never "saved" me, obviously because its not my choice? wheres the fairness in that? 4. People from other countries have never heard of jesus or god and yet they'll go to hell because he is not there god? 5. Why should God's servants have to fear him? It seems a little bit like a classic case of tyrrany if you ask me. 6. Christians, Muslims, Jews, Satanists, Wiccans, Buddists all are certain that their religions are the "right" ones. but there genuine questions i'm asking, and i've been to church,, most of my life. i'm as naive as you'd think. and i love how you "christians" are saying some insulting things,, i'm just asking some questions here. i know its overused but still... i don't believe in god at all, i'm just curious as to why you do? not trying to be mean. Resolved Question: Guitar Hero World Tour Setlist?
Now, before I start typing about this, I'm going to clearly state that this is based on my opinion in music. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on these songs so therefore, do not post, i repeat, DO NOT post comments stating that I have bad taste and I'm ripping on "good bands", but regardless. If you do want to post stuff like that, please post it in the nicest way possible. Now, I will begin. Does anyone else think that Guitar Hero: world Tour has the worst soundtrack ever? When you compare it to past Guitar Hero game (not including Aerosmith or Encore 80's) or even it's main competition Rock Band 1 & 2, it has a really bad soundtrack. Now I realize that Activision has not yet released the names of every song that will appear on the game, but they have released 57 song names, most of which, IN MY OPINION, suck. When it comes to rock music, I hate emo music and today's "punk" music. This game has a lot of emo and "today's punk" music. There are some great songs and even some where I will play the songs, enjoy it, but will be embarrassed to play it. But in a game where they have a Flo-Rida remix (i hate rap music more than anything) and where Rock Band 2 has Battery by Metallica and GH4 has Trapped Under Ice. First off, it's "GUITAR HERO" not "RAP HERO". Guitar is for rock. And I love Trapped Under Ice, but it's doesn't compare to Battery. Here, I'll sate what songs I think are good and whatnot, you tell me if this soundtrack sucks or not. But listen to the songs they have b4 commenting. Good Songs: About A Girl-Nirvana American Woman-The Guess Who B.Y.O.B-System Of A Down Crazy Train-Ozzy Osbourne Go Your Own Way-Fleetwood Mac (i like FM, so what?) Hot For Teacher-Van Halen (this song will be FUN to play) Hotel California-The Eagles (i like this song) The Joker-Steve Miller Band (a good classic song) Light My Fire-The Doors (MORRISON, YES!!!!!!) Livin' On A Prayer-Bon Jovi (not a Bon Jovi fan, but I'll play it) Love Me Two Times-The Doors (MORE MORRISON, YES!!!!!!!!!) Mr. Crowley-Ozzy Osbourne (GREAT SONG) Purple Haze-Jimi Hendrix (YES!) Stillborn-Black Label Society (i love BLS) Trapped Under Ice-Metallica (it doesn't compare to RB2's Battery) Up Around The Bend-CCR (good song) The Wind Cries Mary-Jimi Hendrix (YES!!!!!!) Song I'll Like Playing But Won't Admit It (lol): Beat It-Michael Jackson (we all know why I won't admit it) Eye Of The Tiger-Survivor (this song can get old) Float On-Modest Mouse (good song, but my friends would kill me, lol) In The End-Linkin Park (I haven't heard this since the year 2000) One Way Or Another-Blondie (enough said) Rebel Yell-Billy Idol (not much of an Idol fan) Okay Songs: Bullet With Butterfly Wings-Smashing Pumpkins (if there has to be a SP song, I'm glad it's this one) Everlong-Foo Fighters (not much of a FF fan, but i like this song) Hail To The Freaks-Beatsteaks (i like them, but not so much this song) No Sleep Till Brooklyn-Beastie Boys (good, but RB2 gets So Whatcha' Want) Overkill-Motorhead (good, but, did Motorhead ever have another hit?) Shiver-Coldplay (Coldplay had better songs, but whatever) Weapon Of Choice-Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (ehh) Bad Songs: Aggro-The Enemy (they sound to emo to me, even though they aren't) Are You Gonna Go My Way-Lenny Kravitz (i don't like this song) Dammit-Blink 182 (i hate Blink 182, but like Travis Barker) Escuela de Calor-Radio Futura (Foreign language, really!?) Feel The Pain-Dinosaur Jr. (I hate this song!!!!) Good God-Anouk (annoying) Heartbreaker-Pat Benatar (i hate Pat Benatar!!!!!!) Hollywood Nights-Bob Seger (not much of a Bob Seger fan) L?Via L?Viaquez-The Mars Volta (again with foreign language!!!!!!!) Lazy Eye-Silversun Pickups (ehhhh) Low-Flo Rida (are you serious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Misery Business-Paramore (i hate Paramore) Monsoon-Tokio Hotel (really bad song) Never Too Late-The Answers (a little annoying) Nuvole E Lenzuola-Negramaro (GRRRRR, foreign language!!!!) Obstacle 1-Interpol (bad song) One Armed Scissor-At The Drive In (NOOOOOO!!!) Rooftops-Lostprophets (OMG!) Santeria-Sublime (i don't like Sublime) Some Might Say-Oasis (who likes these guys?) Spiderwebs-No Doubt (grrrrrr) Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast-Airbourne (i don't like Airbourne) Vinternoll2-Kent (no thank you) What I've Done-Linkin Park (no) You're Gonna Say Yeah-Hushpuppies (no) But that's just me, what do u think? Resolved Question: What's wrong with the current "alternative"rock of today (it's all an emo blend)???
I hope I'm not gettin' to the stick-in-the-mud stage of music listening, but today's emo-ish rock doesn't cut it... why? I'm a Gen Xer, graduated in 1995, wore flannel and docs, played drums, could sepparate the bull from the good. What happened to the music scene? What happened to alternative rock? I want to know exactly, as much details as anyone can give, WHY todays music for todays youth all sounds the same: vocals (so damn emo-ish), the guitars sound the same, the ideas and muses are the same. Bands like Yellowcard, post-Blink bands (Boxcar Racer/+44, etc...), Fallout Boy, My Chemical Romance, AFI, Saves the Day, Greenday (American Idiot and beyond), etc... you see the pattern. What are they doing wrong? Is this the sad future for alt. rock? Here's the other end, my generations music: The 90's had it good, Gin Blossoms, Tool, Dishwalla, The Verve, Nirvana, Primus, Jane's Addiction, White Zombie, Alice in Chains, etc... the list can go on and on and on and on. Why can't there be music like there was in the 90's, where the vocals weren't whiney, where there was a clear distinction of the bands. For example, look at how different Dinosaur Jr. was from Smashing Pumpkins, Tori Amos, Rage Against the Macine, and Soundgarden. Each band was a unique entity. If a band was said to sound like another, the band carved out a unique sound for themselves (such as the case between Pearl Jam and Stone Temple Pilots - Weiland & Co. found their own thing, BUT Plush will always be classic, even though it's very Pearl Jam-ish). Please, can someone answer most of these questions with logic and examples. I will ignore you if you say anything along the lines of "your just bitter, don't be a hater, just because, you old fogey, your close minded, etc..." Get the picture? I need to understand why music is getting worse. Is it corporate Ameica, is it Myspace, is it a lack of creativity, is it a formula has been found and no one wants to deviate from it, or is it that today's generation (Gen Y & Z) wouldn't know a good band if it sat on their face)????
