Open Question: Place to find financial aid for Columbia U. summer program?
Including Tuition, Fees, Room&Board, the summer program at Columbia is a little over $7,000.
The website says Columbia University doesn't deal directly with people who need financial aid. But "Scholarships are awarded to students who have been identified by community organizations that work in collaboration with Columbia University Secondary School Programs."
I'm pretty sure that doesn't apply to me, and my college counselor is rather un-knowledgeable.
Are there any online places I could find scholarships for this sort of program? I'm partially Native American and have had a relatively minor heart surgery if for some reason that helps with places I might be applicable to receive financial aid.

Open Question: I need help finding a better school?
I go to a public school in Nassau County of Florida and am having alot of issues. Involving Girls, Drama, Fights, and people are all around just MEAN! I want to leave the school because I also feel I am not getting the education I deserve although I want to find a school not to far away that has less school hours during the day so I can work more in my family's bussiness to get experience. Although what so ever I do not want to go to a public school and I dont want to go to a Catholic or christian school. I want to take courses at college for a diploma. Although I am only 15 and will not be 16 till the end of 2009. I feel like im doing myself an injustice staying at my school and as if im in a cess pool! Please help me find something someone I've spent hours online researching. My parents want me to get a good education without having to deal with the immaturity level of high school students. PLEASEEEE HELPPPPP!

Open Question: Is My Girlfriend Pregnant?
I dated this girl for nearly a year before we broke up, because we were both going to different colleges. Shortly after, I believe it was around the end of September, at least that's what she told me, she had sex with another guy. We had never had sex, but according to her, in her misery over breaking up with me, she had sex with this guy, who was drunk at the time, to attempt to rid herself of her misery. It didn't work, she felt terrible for losing her virginity to such a person, and I forgave her and we're back together. At least, in a way. I haven't actually seen her since May, when we went our separate ways, but we video chat online for hours every night. My question though....I'm not sure I can believe her. She tells me she hasn't had her period in months, which seems...dangerous, to me. Apparently it's a condition she is used to having, and she was on birth control to have it regularly, but her insurance stopped paying for the birth control and now she's not on it anymore. I'm planning to fly to her state to see her again in March, and it's pretty obvious that there will be "fooling around" going on. But she just asked me the strangest question.... If, after I leave from the trip, what I would do if she told she was pregnant. Obviously I would stay by her side because I'm madly in love with her, but I'm beginning to wonder... Having sex with that guy...missing her period, though the length of that time I'm not certain about (she talks as though it has been happening even when we were dating)..and then asking me about her being pregnant... Is it possible that she is? Am I going to go over there, fool around, and then see her have a baby and say that it's mine? Is this a possible situation? Am I just thinking too much? I love this girl, very very much. I want to marry her. But I can't help but wonder...

Open Question: Using a wireless router as an Ethernet switch/hub? ?
Hello all,
I'm in college, and, as with many students, I find myself short of Ethernet ports in my room. Previously, I was borrowing my friend's linksys hub for this type of setup:
Wall Port > Hub > Computer/XBOX 360
So, since I don't want to deprive my friend of his hub again this semester, I was wondering if I could use a wireless router I have (Basic Belkin 802.11g model) in place of the linksys hub, and if so, would it be:
Wall port > Uplink port of router, and then hooking up the computer/360 from the LAN ports of the router.
or
Wall port > LAN port of the router, and then from the other LAN ports to my devices.
Will this work or should I just buy another hub/switch and use the same setup as before?
Thanks in advance, and no, I will not setup my computer with wireless, it's a desktop, and I occasionally play online with it.

Open Question: anxiety, failing college classes, and need some words of advice?
I currently attend an extremely challenging engineering school, and I am a chemical engineering major..i love the school, my classmates, MOST of my courses (except the chemistry ones, but I want to switch majors anyway)..however, some of the professors are ridiculous..and require unreasonable amounts of work from the students. this past semester was very tough for me. i took 6 classes, and ended up getting a D in one (organic chemistry which i could not understand for the life of me) and i failed E&M physics, which i am very disappointed about. I studied hard but I just didnt have enough time to cover everything/some of the professors really sucked..also, my mother went for major heart surgery in October, so i was very tense and worried about that for a few months.
I was very upset when I checked my grades online, mostly about the failed E&M course. This is the 2nd class ive failed with this professor (the first was physics- mechanics) and im worried ill never be able to pass any of his classes, though luckily i only have to take 2 with him. There are no other options for professors for either of these physics courses.
I plan on retaking physics Mechanics next semester and Im very nervous and kind of terrified about it already. My gpa this past semester was a 1.9 so im on probation and have to explain to the academic standards committee what i did wrong, so Im also dreading that. I really dont want to transfer schools but I feel like im slowly losing all confidence in my own abilities :[ I cant switch majors unless I have at least a 3.0 for the semester, and hopefully I'll be able to get that next semester when Im not taking the chemistry courses.
I would just really love some words of advice and motivation to help me through these tough times!!

Open Question: Delphi/Programming Diplomas?
I'm self taught. I need a Diploma for programming. I don't want to go through College or University. I spent one year in University already noddding my head at teacher and silintly saying "I know that I know that".
Are there any Delphi online courses which provide a Diploma at the end? Or, aside from delphi what would be a good programming language I could study that would get me a good job.
I'd rather stick with the Delphi language if possible but am willing to study a new language if nessesary. I've got a strong grip and understand programming already. So learning a new language wouldn't be difficult. I'm looking for online courses. Something i can fly through quickly as I already understand the concepts throughaly. I just need a Diploma of somekind to prove it....Thanks
