I have a 2005 Corolla. I've driven 5 times between SF & KC/StL. Thrice on I-80, twice on I-40. (Once in a Budget moving truck). I think the I-40 route is an easier drive. Online maps say that I-70 is the fastest route, but I would think that winter would not be a good time to take it through Colorado and Kansas. What are your experiences/suggestions? I'd also like suggestions on great sites to see that are less than 30 minutes from the interstate, on whichever route you suggest. I've been to the Grand Canyon, and many places in CO & CA (used to live there). I'm interested in beautiful natural sites, like what I saw driving through Arizona. Thanks! (more...)

My husband and I are planning a road trip with the kids from california to cleveland in April. Does any one know any web sites I can go to to find out the weather conditions of that time of year for each state we will be passing through and also one that gives ideas of what to see in each state.
