New Yallopin City

The freshest musical entity for the new millennium. An innovative blend of the Hip-Hop attitude with real authentic Harlem Swing, as played by some of the best jazz musicians in the world today, who have paid dues with some of the Royalty of Swing, such as Lionel Hampton, the Louis Armstrong Band, Illinois Jacquet, and Panama Francis. They represent a return to truly original melodies, along with lyrics that are pertinent to life in the times we live in, rather than being retro. And...most of all, they swing their butts off!

It's been a long,
A loooong time coming but I knoowow,
A change gon come,
A change gon come,
A change gon come,

It's been a long,

Prisoner to my cerebellum so I reach out to the listeners
And my mission is I better tell?em
Our fear of a free mind is here and your spirit can die
And netime you need to cry so you hide it deep inside
Reason why, how can you change what was written
Easy, don?t focus your brain on what they mentioned
I got so used to tryin? to make due
I feel like I?m cheatin? when I?m faced with a breakthrough
The man in the mirror keeps sayin? I hate you
I respond like little nigga I made you
Slay those sayin? they can break you
So when I take a break I go ape
Come back and play fool
When they think they won that?s when I crush them
Change is eminent I evolve so it?s nothing
What?s the discussion?
Charles Hamilton

Yo, it?s crazy man,
We on the cover of XXL
Anyone else think that?s amazing
Uh, get?em
We've been pompous every since Columbus couldn?t work a compass
We've accomplished what we've conjured up while conscious
And consciously we?ve conquered all the eye can see
Constantly concocting more options but jobs are still obsolete
It seems so odd to me an odyssey
How honesty is honestly the rawest thing upon us it?s astonishing
How did all the honest people vanish from the planet?
Leaving us a laundry list of problems to acknowledge
While plotting with my phonics me and sonic and B.o.B.
(Non chomp)? arises as I sit down and sketch my rhymes
Stretch my mind, to figure out what?s next in line
The next Em, 'Ye, and Andre nah homie...its just been a longggg, a long time coming
(B.o.B.)
Yeah listen,
Right about now
I feel honored
To be apart of this change that is taking over these great states
So I just need to get real one more time
Listen,
Well as your listenin? to this track
You?re probably about to blog about it maybe say its whack
Or maybe compare the verses to see which one of us is snap
Completely ignoring the fact this is way more than rap
?Cuz I happen to be on a magazine you happened to see this issue
Some people wish you well man some people turn against you
Some people even call up to the station just to diss you
You bitch you, you only mad at yourself here?s a tissue
But that even my focus man that hate ain?t on my menu
I?m in a different city about to rock a different venue
My girl sent me a text message just to say I miss you
It won?t be long before I?m home baby but the rents due

Open Question: very beginning of my story (short) opinions please?
The door of apartment number twenty-four slammed shut, rattling the old wood of the building. The building was old, built many years before. It was incredibly dirty from the decades of wear, and termites had begun to take over the wood. Sydney ran through the rooms, her long dark brown hair swung as she went. She hurried to her room, and the door quickly crashed back into its frame. She stood with her hand held against the door and closed her sky blue eyes as the tears begun to roll down her pale white cheeks. She turned her back against the door, and slid down, throwing her face into her hands. After a minute, she lifted her head and gazed around her room, the plain white walls and the white down torn up blanket thrown over her bed. Her bed stood placed upon the wall opposite the door, directly in the middle. On the right of her bed stood a small nightstand, painted white, only a small square of wood crudely placed upon four white legs. A pallid dresser with only four drawers stood on the left of her bed, the hinges hanging by a thread, and the drawers no more attached. The monotony of the colors bored her greatly, but she had no choice in the matter. The wall on the right side of her room held the only window, full of spidery cracks that crept across the surface and an aged look that left everything viewed through it covered with a tinge of yellow. Outside her window was the city, and not the beautiful part of the city that everyone fell in love with, no, it was the part of the city that everyone stayed away from for on every corner stood a man with a gun. Danger lurked no farther than three feet away where ever she went. She learned quickly to keep her eyes down and to avoid any confrontations. Even though she always followed the unwritten and unspoken rules of the city, it never fully guaranteed safety, which she learned today. Her and her friend Kayci had been walking home from school like always, laughing over the events of the day. They walked together on the bullet ridden sidewalk. Despite the danger, the city was their home, but that danger hit them full blown that day. A car sped down the street, a normality for the city but suddenly, it shirked to a stop. Kayci and Sydney both flung their heads towards the car as a click of a gun sounded.
?Run!? screamed Sydney but it was too late, the man had pulled the trigger and the bullet flew through the air, striking Kayci. She fell to the ground, her red curly hair a puddle around her head. The car once again gained speed and escaped from view. Sydney ran towards Kayci, every second passing so slowly. She flung herself beside her friend, and grabbed her hand in her own. She stared into her green eyes as the last remaining thread of life fled from her body.
?No!? Sydney screamed. Suddenly she felt hands behind her, pulling her away.
?Sydney, she?s gone. We can?t stay here, it?s not safe, and we have to go home. Now,? Her brother Zeke whispered in her ear.
Zeke was one year younger at 15, although he had already outgrown Sydney in height years ago. His short, curly, dark blonde hair sat calmly upon his head, his skin slightly darker than Sydney?s, giving him a more sunlit look. Sydney stared into his dark brown eyes as he pulled her away from the corpse of her best friend. His strength amazed her, struggling against him was a futile attempt, for she was no match. She let him pull her down the sidewalk, running towards the safety of home. Her mind went blank in shock of the events, and all she was capable of doing was keeping her legs moving underneath her. Zeke continued to talk to her, trying to keep her from slipping away from him. When they reached home, Sydney broke away from her brother.
She could see the events play out against her walls as if they were still occurring in front of her. She heard a light knock against her door.
?Sydney,? Zeke whispered through the door. She could feel the pain in his voice, yet it was nothing compared to the pain that rippled through her mind like raging flood waters.
with the short after story it makes it sound like a short story, but its not. i'm hoping i can get it to about 200 pages in the end.

Open Question: cost of living in Brussels?
Can someone please tell me whether accommodation costs in Brussels is expensive or not compare to other capital cities such as Paris?
How much would a long term studio/apartment for 1-2 person (around 9 months) cost ? i do not need to be right in the Centre of the city, but still within the perimeters of it would be good (don't know if that makes a difference?).
In addition, how about groceries cost? is it much the same as in Paris?

Open Question: Comparing Australian and Indian cities?
I live in India. Recently, I visited Australian cities like Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
I noticed that Australian cities were more pleasant to stay..
I mean the roads were neatly constructed with lawns alongside. Rarely one could see garbage on the roads.
The cities look more advanced and beautiful..
I wondered why Indian cities like Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore are not like that. The over-population in India should not be the reason. Even Sydney and Melbourne has 4 million people each. I see India has more money than Aussies..The GDP of India is 5.21 trillion whereas for Aussies it is only around 1 trillion..
Can you tell the reason?

Resolved Question: Rock and Pop's Top 41 vs the Top 41 from VH-1's top 100?
These are the songs that you, my friends, think should be mentioned in the R&P top 100 (Because only 40+ people answered it is now the R&P Top 41.)
I have included my pick as well
Due to "Hard Rock" guide lines I had to eliminate Duran Duran's "Hungry Like The Wolf and Depeche Mode (Both great bands but neither are classified as Hard Rock)
-------Heres how this works--------
I want you to list these songs in order from 40-1. After everyone has done this, I will do some serious math (my brains gonna hurt) and I will average each songs placement on the Top 40 list.
I will compile the final list and compare it side by side with VH1s
Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix
Walk This Way - Aerosmith
Karn Evil part 2 - Emerson Lake and Palmer
Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses
Ace of Spades - Motorhead
Kashmir-Led Zeppelin
Back In Black- AC/DC
Atomic Punk - Van Halen
Eyes of a Stranger - Queensryche
Rock 'n' Roll - Led Zeppelin
All Along the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix
The Good Left Undone - Rise Against
Tom Sawyer - Rush
Paradise Lost - Symphony X
Pour Some Sugar on Me - Def Leppard
Round and Round - Ratt
Child in Time - Deep Purple
Slow Ride - Foghat
Helter Skelter - Beatles
The Boys Are Back In Town - Thin Lizzy
Cherry Bomb - The Runaways
Miss Misery- Nazareth
Spanish Castle Magic - Jimi Hendrix Experience
Day of the Eagle- Robin Trower
Motley Crue- Too Young To Fall In Love
Stone Cold Crazy - Queen
Snowblind - Black Sabbath
Burn - Deep Purple
Paradise City - Guns N Roses
White Room - Cream
Godzilla-Blue Oyster Cult
Free Bird - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Pictures of Home - Deep Purple
War Pigs - Black Sabbath
Another Brick In The Wall- Pink Floyd
Jail Break - Thin Lizzy
Rocks Off -- The Rolling Stones
Shot in the Dark by Ozzy
Achilles Last Stand - Led Zeppelin
More Than A Feeling - Boston
Russians - Sting
Please star so that others may participate as well =)
I am not too sure if the Sting song Russians is hard rock.
I re-added it at the last minute because I never heard the song.
Please make the list from 41 down to 1
Hey Karl- Thats a great idea but that would require math skills I dont think I have lol. Actually, this was part 2. Remember my last Q asking people to pick a song for the top 100? This is based off that Q. I was gonna due the Thumbs up bit (most to least would designate placement) but because a few people answered near the end and the fact that people wont TU an answer based only on the person who answered the Q, I felt this was a better way to do it...but it is a process, I will admit that

Resolved Question: What is your opinion on this ?
I babysit my cousins. The family complains they never have money Yet they are always buying everything. The 4 year old has nothing compared to the 10 year old. The family is in debt. The 10 year old got this for Christmas: Animal Crossing City Folk, Cell phone with 400 minutes, Apple Mac book laptop, Wifi, and several other things. What kind of 10 year old has her own laptop with internet and a cell phone? Everytime i babysit her she always has an attitude with me and even with her mom. I think action needs to be taken. And her mom has seen how she acts. I just don't know what to do anymore. The 4 year old is a perfect angel compared to her. I babysit because they are my family, they pay me, and he is teaching me how to drive when i come over.
She also got a nice flat screen tv as an early present
Sam i was asking what your opinion on this was. What would you do in my situation?
Clara - They are my close family. Since my mom died i hang out with them on the weekends and mostly everyday during the summer

Open Question: What should I do?!!!?
Me, my mum, my dad and my twin brothers have been a happy family up to now. My mum and dad have decided to devorce because they don't have the potential to be married together. So, my dad moves out of the house (but his name is still on the owners' list) and back to live with his parents until he finds a new house. This is in a different country called Israel (ok, please don't mention that Gaza bombing thing as being wrong because if you heard the full story of why we were bombing Gaaza, you would understand. Anyway, we live in a city called Eilat which is not involved in the war). I also came to him for a two week holiday about a month later, and about two days after I come, she brings a MAN to the house, who used to be her boyfriend when she was 16. My dad goes crazy because he made her promise not to do what she did - he didn't want my brothers exposed to that kinda stuff cause they're only 8. Then she send him an email saying that Robbie (her boyfriend) had gone, but I talked to my brothers and they said that he was still there, but that they were going to lie to my dad to keep it secret. And now, two weeks later, after I came home, he was still there (well, until we arrived home - my mum quickly made him leave)! I am really angry at her for lyeing because she's all of a sudden going to parties and flirting with people like she's 16 again. I guess she's doing it because all she focused on at that age was havin children and she never got to get her 'crazy phase' out of her system.
On another matter, the UK is probably like, one of the baddest places to live compared to Eilat. In Eilat, we go to the beach, the pool; there's loads to do! But here....the only thing to do is go on holiday or go to 'Lego Land'. I miss Eilat loads because that's where I was born and I was so happy there. But my mum is a type of person who always wants changes. Im thinking about whether I should move back to Eilat without my mum or not. SHe says I would be better off there, while she finds a job and focuses on her work. But I have loads of friends that I just couldn't let go of, I love my school and I think I would have more opportunity here to make my dream job come true. I really dont know what to do - should I go or should I stay?!!!!
By the way, you may know Robbie - He used to be a drummer in this famous band called 'The Stone Roses'
