Cowboy's Inn
Cowboy's Inn It's been many years since The Blasters made rockabilly cool and contemporary again. While the Blasters pounced on old-school rockabilly like a cat in heat, Chicago's Riptones take more of a wine-and-dine approach with the genre, revealing its roots in honky-tonk and country-boogie, its progression toward Bakersfield's country-rock hybrid, and its offshoots into surf. That's not to say that the Riptones can't match the reckless, punk-fueled (we call that insurgent today) energy of the Alvin boys--there's certainly plenty of heavy twang and thumping slapback to appease the hardest rockers--but these guys can also show a more melodic, stylistically diverse side. Can you correct this for me please .This is an essay from my religion class. The Christmas Story Mary was a young girl, probably only about 12 or 13 years old when the angel Gabriel came to her. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High".She trusted God and she obeyed his call. Joseph the huspand of Mary, discovered that she was having a child and wished to dissolve the engagement quietly. In a dream, however, God's angel told Joseph to take his wife in his home. Joseph and Mary got to Bethlehem, there was no place for them to stay because the inn was already full. They ended up spending the night in a stable, a place where animals were kept. That night, Jesus was born. There was no crib, so they laid baby Jesus in a manger. Shepherds were in the fields near Bethlehem, an angel appeared to them and gave them the good news that a Savior, the Messiah, had been born.The shepherds hurried into Bethlehem and found Jesus in the manger. After they had seen Jesus, they spread the news, and everyone who heard was in amazement. Some time later, wise men from eastern countries saw a star in the sky that meant the birth of a new king. They came to Judea, the region around Jerusalem and Bethlehem, to worship Jesus, the new king. King Herod told the man to go find the new king so they could worship him too. The wise man went to search for Jesus by following the star. They found Mary and Jesus, they worship Jesus. King Herod lied when he told the wise men he wanted to worship Jesus. He was afraid this new "king" would replace him as king of Judea. He did not understand that Jesus would grow up to be king of God's spiritual kingdom, not king of Judea. Herod wanted to kill Jesus, he was furious with the wise man because they did not told him where to find Jesus. Joseph and his family fleed to Egypt where they were safe from the king of Judea. Resolved Question: Can anyone recommend a place to stay that's in Amish Country outside (east or south) of Cleveland, OH? ?
I'm from Pittsburgh, my wife & I are going to a show at the House of Blues in Cleveland on a Saturday in February. She has commented before that she'd like to see some Amish Country... so I thought we may make a weekend of it if I can find a place to stay that wouldn't be too far of a drive after the show. If we can get a nice quaint hotel, cabin, inn, or bed & breakfast (nothing with community bathrooms though please) I thought it would be cool to stay & use the next day to check out the area, or even make it a 3 day weekend. I have checked out a bunch of tourism sites online... have seen a few places, but I'm not sure on the price versus quality of some... and the ones that looked really good are already booked. So... can someone give a first hand account of somewhere that they stayed in the area, & things they did there? No simple answers pointing to a tourism site here please! I've done that much myself already, that's why I'm asking here! I'm open to attractions & restaurants too! Links to an actual site of a place to stay/shop/eat would be awesome. I booked Hessenland Country Inn (near Grand Bend, ON) for Oct 10/09 and have had to cancel. I will get my deposit back if the date gets rebooked. If anyone knows anyone who needs something...take it!
