okay i wrote this essay about smoke-free laws...this is for an AP English course....how does it sound? Any educated citizen can agree that smoking only leads to consequences, and has absolutely no benefits toward the human anatomy; the issue was emphasized by an article written by Mike Stobbe on December 31, 2008. The research condemned in a Colorado city showed that the ban of smoking in a workplace led to a drop in the percent of heart attacks. The research took three years, but proved to work. Not only did the banning cut smoking rates but reduced damages on other people caused by second-hand smoking. However, some observers mention there is no actual proof that the ban of smoking caused the drop. One thing was for sure whatever it was showed improvement for the citizens of the city. The ban of smoking in public areas in Pueblo, Colorado might just influence other cities to do the same. Obviously, this change improved health not just for the smokers but for the innocent victims and their children surrounded by those smokers. The restriction of smoking in public areas for three years shows the commitment and the serious attitude toward tobacco. It is to be the longest study ever done on smoking. The images of what tobacco does to humans are instantly pictured in the mind; society has seen images of post-smoking situations and the consequences thrust upon those who smoke. Action speaks louder than words; taking this type of drastic action proved to help society. This is the ninth study done and it is proven that smoke-free laws help reduce heart attacks at no cost. Even with the doubtful observers, the facts are clear; the prevention of smoke will provide a healthy environment whether it reduces chances of heart attacks or not. If serious issues like smoke-free laws cure one of America?s biggest problems-heart attacks-then why only take action in Pueblo, Colorado? America?s health problem is soaring high with obesity, heart-attacks, and other diseases. Reducing one of those issues in a community helps doctors or anybody else medically qualified to focus on solving other concerns in the hospital or scientific laboratory. For example, the heart attack rates in Pueblo dropped from 257 per 100,000 people to 152 per 100,000, and that?s just for the three years. Imagine the progress America will make when a greater commitment is made toward providing smoke-free zones for the public. To reach distant places it has to take the first step. The affects of second hand smoke affects everyone surrounded in that atmosphere, especially the children. Cigarettes are known for causing cancer and contain more than 50 chemicals. Most of these children have no other choice then to breathe that air; because that?s the atmosphere they are surrounded with. Many of these children live in households with parents that smoke, and are not educated with the dangers of tobacco. The benefit of the smoke-free law guarantees children a safe atmosphere outside their home, where it?s possible to breathe fresh, non-toxic air. Many children receive respiratory tract infections resulting in 7,500 to 15,000 hospitalizations each year. Unlike America, many countries do not warn parents about the dangers of smoking. Like it or not, children grow up to have respiratory complications, like asthma. If smoke-free laws can spread through communities, it can very well spread through countries, therefore improving the universal health system. The message was loud, clear, and simple in the article. Although it?s not proven that all heart attacks are the result of tobacco, but smoke-free laws definitely reduced the numbers and gives families hope of a healthier air climate. Readers of the article can get motivated to produce similar laws in their communities. I have two cats and will be taking them with me on a move to Colorado in a few months. We will be driving, and the trip altogether will be around 20 hours in the car, but we will stop overnight in a pet-friendly hotel. They do well in the car on short trips, but have never been more than about 2 hours in the car. I am wondering what the best set-up is to keep them happy and safe. I have an SUV, so I was wondering about trying to set up a barrier of some kind to let them be loose in the back, but not free to move into the front of the car (like people do for dogs). Has anyone ever tried this? Is there a product that works for cats? Other suggestions for the best way to move them safely? (more...)

Where in Colorado a 21 year old woman can get a free or inexpensive PAP Smear? My coworker is living with her boyfriend of 5 years and he makes too much money for her to get approved for Medicaid. He covers all the bills and she only works part time for very little money. I feel bad for her but she keeps her head up! Anyway, she has been having some mild discomfort in her lower abdomin but it doesn't happen all the time (she says it's pretty rare). She just wants to go get checked out to make sure everything is alright. She is not pregnant and her last PAP was 2 or 3 years ago I think she said. Does anyone know of a place in Colorado around Denver preferrably that will do a free or inexpensive PAP?? Thanks It did matter because she applied and they did a check of who she was living with and their income. She doesn't have enough money for regular insurance. I work in a hospital that has to enforce a new law voted and approved by Colorado. People can not smoke on hospital property. Not even in your car on the property. The fine can be up to $300. However, If you cross the street, (off of hospital property) its ok. I think this is absolutely a violation of our rights. I dont smoke and dont like second hand smoke. But the PEOPLE ARE OUTSIDE!!!! I dont see the diffrence in smoking on one side of the street or the other. I think if this is something the government and law enforcement has the free time of enforcing or even making the law then they have missed the point big time. I wished the law could spend their time enforcing important issues like getting the illegal immigrants out of our country, or getting welfare reciipiants off of welfare and able to contribute to society by having a job, like everyone else. Then they can pay back what the welfare gave them. So other people who are having a hard time can benefit as well. The government could spend their time finding ways to everyone having health benefits (at least those paying taxes and that are legal) Sometimes people who do not contribute to society have better benefits then the people working and paying taxes. How on earth could the government think this is fair? I guess because they are spending their time focusing on laws that fine people working. Maybe they are worried birds are going to get cancer from second hand smoke. Good Grief Colorado!!!! I dont smoke, I would like to see evidence of 2nd hand smoke outside causing cancer. We are polluted with car and aiplane exhaust outside as well as airplanes dumping chemtrails into our "fresh air". what does a cigarrette cause harm outside? (more...)

Last night I got board and I decided to play a trick on a 47 year old man who was offering free room and board to any single women in a time of need on the website, "craigslist.com" in the rooms/shared section. Yeah, I know, you probably think I have too much time on my hands. Think whatever you want to. But this guy sounds a bit like a predator to me. I was just wondering what you guys think I should do next. Hey, if anything I'm having fun with it lol. Hi, my name is Jenna Patrick and I'm 21 years old, just turned 21 actually. I have to say that 2008 was a very rough year for me. I'm really looking forward to a better year in 2009, hopefully : ) I lost my dad to lung cancer in July of 2008 and my mom died when I was 5 years old. I don't really remember her all too well unfortunately. I guess I'm kind of in a bind right now because I can't find an honest and modest job that doesn't require at least a 2 year college degree lol, it really stinks. Michigan's economy seems to be in such a rut right now. I'm pretty close to being broke, it's getting pretty bad. I grew up in Castle Pines North (Colorado) and lived there till I was about 14 years old. After that, my dad moved my brother Wyatt and I to Santa Clarita California for a better paying job. He was never very good to us to say the least, I got mixed up with the wrong crowd, one thing lead to another and I found myself performing in Adult films. I think I did what I had to do in order to get by. After a while, I started feeling a little guilty about my behavior and decided to move somewhere far away from the California scene. I was getting tired with it all. One of my previous managers who I worked for in California has been harassing me on the phone to the point that I had to change my number. He says that I still owe him $23,680 dollars, at the time that I was in his movies, he said that the extra money was mine to keep. I think he's just mad because I won't shoot for him any more. I hope you don't think that I'm a bad person or anything for liking sex, I just don't think that I'm in the right frame of mind for shooting films right now, that's why I needed a change and moved to Michigan with my girlfriend Kat. Her full name is Katsumi but everyone calls her Kat. She has been in some films with me too. Hey, I guess all I'm saying is that I could use a place to stay for a while with a nice guy. You don't have to email me back, but the polite thing to do would be to email me, or at least let me know that someone else took the offer already. I don't think I can pay you with money, but I'm sure we could work something out if you know what I mean, Kat actually has family in Novi Michigan but its starting to get a little crowded over there and I don't always get along with her mom, you can probably imagine. No surprise, then, that John Elway?s name keeps popping up. The Hall of Fame quarterback has been mentioned as a possible part of the management team that replaces Mike Shanahan, who was terminated as coach and executive vice president of football operations. No. 7 in the front office? Shanahan certainly believes Elway?s presence could be a good move for the Broncos. ?We know what John Elway means to Denver,? Shanahan said Wednesday at his farewell news conference. ?If I was a free agent coming in and John Elway was there, I?d sign for no money.? The idea isn?t so farfetched: Elway co-owns the Arena Football League?s Colorado Crush with Broncos owner Pat Bowlen. However, the ex-QB is lean on experience, his only front-office background coming from running the Crush, a team whose season is currently on hold as the league figures out its financial situation. ADVERTISEMENT On the field, there was nobody better?at least there?s very little debate about that in Denver.
