The flag of Colorado was designed by Andrew Carlisle Johnson in 1911 and adopted by the state's General Assembly on June 5 of the same year, and consists of three horizontal stripes of equal width; the top and bottom stripes are blue, and the middle stripe white. On top of these stripes sits a circular red "C", filled with a golden disk. The blue is meant to represent the skies, the gold represents the sun, white representing the snow-capped mountains and the red representing the earth.

Steve Reich 1965-1995
In the afterglow of his 60th birthday in 1997, Nonesuch Records delivered Steve Reich and his listeners an immense gift, this 10-CD retrospective of his work for the label, extending from his earliest tape-manipulation pieces to his most recent compositions utilizing samplers and the video artistry of Beryl Korot. Aside from the ear's liquid sense-making when it hears the dense and limber marimbas of Reich's Six Marimbas or his taut, dizzying Piano Phase, there is a physical response almost inevitable in Reich's music. It stuns and holds you. And he knows it. It's Gonna Rain struck an early chord of inventiveness, featuring an African American Pentecostal preacher's sermon and eventually spinning the title phrase into a jangling repetition of single words. Percussion works abound here: Clapping and Drumming stun with their deceptive similarity and warm clarity. Perennial favorite Piano Phase features pianists Nurit Tilles and Eduard Neumann synched up on two pianos and careening at full tilt in unison before their four hands fall out of time and phrase with each other, only to realign in a powerful swooping demonstration of energy and focus. New Music for Bowed Piano
Listening to just the first minute of Stephen Scott's "Rainbows, I" (the album's first track) will shatter your notion of what piano music should sound like. With a heavy nod to the minimalism of Steve Reich, Scott and his group of students from Colorado College created one of the most memorable and original compositions of bowed piano strings ever recorded. Here, the white and black keys are overshadowed by a handful of musicians crawling over the open-topped instrument, armed with Popsicle sticks glued with horsehair (the perfect bow for reaching into a grand's tight corners). The drones created by the ensemble's bowing sound anything but acoustic, but there's some gorgeous music here, with subtle melodies surfacing above the repetitious fold. Scott's compositions sound both inventive and simple--ominous on "Music One for Bowed Strings," but absolutely pulsating on "Rainbows, II." Good vibrations, indeed. --Jason Verlinde

Open Question: Suing for a misdiagnosed stroke in Colorado...?
One Saturday afternoon, my husband and I were at a friends place to help them move scrap metal from their farm. I am about 10 weeks pregnant and unable to help with this, so I was waiting with my husband to see how they wanted it loaded. Suddenly, my husband got an intense headache, couldn't see, couldn't walk (especially with his left side), could hardly speak, and fell to his knees. Our friend helped my husband (we'll call my hubby "B") to the car and we immediately drove to the nearest hospital. Upon arrival (B being carried in by our friend) B was asked if he was on any drugs. I understand that this is common practice, but they kept accusing him of doing drugs repeatedly. Soon after, B gets sick (and me with morning sickness began to get sick myself.) The nurse yells at me telling me I need to go sit in the waiting room because she doesn't need two sick people there. I told her I was pregnant and ignored her as I walked into the room. The doctor then came in the room, asked a couple of questions, and then with no tests or anything, the doctor told him it was just a migraine and doped him up with a TON of drugs, such as a muscle relaxant, a migraine medication, an anti-histamine, a pain killer, and several others. We left and I was able to get him home and to bed as quickly as I could. The next day, Sunday, we stayed home and just tried to relax. However, B was still having trouble walking and using his left side. We have no medical education and thought that maybe this could be what was left over from all the drugs he was given. So, we ignored it for the time being. The next day, B was unsure if he could drive, so he had me take him to work. Since this was a fair ways away, I just waited around town for him. About an hour or two after he got to work, I get a call from B telling me that something isn't right and that he needed to go to the hospital. Thankfully, this was a different hospital. The second he got into the ER, he was told it sounded like a neurological problem and ordered a cat scan immediately. Sure enough, B had had a stroke that weekend. We spent three days and two nights in the hospital. Everyone was amazing at the second hospital and treated both me and my husband with every kind of care that should be shown by the hospital. As well, while we were there, we were given literature strokes, and B was showing every single sign of having a stroke when he walked into the first hospital. Now B is still having trouble with his fine motor skills in his left hand and when he is tired, he can hardly walk on his left leg.
Do we have any grounds to sue the first hospital or their doctor? Not only do we have the proof they misdiagnosed the stroke, but we also have witnesses of our friends who heard them yell at me and kept accusing my husband of doing drugs. This whole thing has gotten me stressed out beyond compare and I am worried about the effect of this stress on our baby.
As well, does anyone know a lawyer in the Denver area we could talk to? I am really desperate and need some advice regarding what to do.

I am a student at University of Colorado majoring in political science with 1 emphicese in russia and 2 minors one in military science the other pre-law. I am currently in the Army ROTC and will have an obligation to the army after i graduate for at least 8 years(i will most likely go national guard) but my question is after i graduate what would be the best root for me to someday end up as a senator? should i get a law degree? a master's international relations? i know i still have some time to figur it out but i figur there is nothing wrong with planning early. any help would be awesome(btw im extremely deslixic please forgive the misspellings)

Open Question: Online gaming lag spikes?
So I've been having this issue for a few months now. Basically any online game i play i get consistent lag spikes every couple minutes that last about 5 seconds. It doesn't matter if its a FPS, a mmorpg or a very basic game like diablo 1.
I'm using a wireless setup and up until about 5 months ago it was perfectly fine. All of a sudden the issue started. I'm using Comcast cable internet in Colorado. I did do some research and from what I found there didn't seem to be any definitive answers. There was one site that listed the exact problem I had but it was one you had to pay for to get the answer.

Yeah I am running off of a router and I tried disabling both the security on the router and the firewall on my computer but no luck. Also my connection strength is excellent (same as it was 5 months ago when it worked fine)
