Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet
Recipes for the Endometriosis Diet A comprehensive diet resource for women with Endometriosis - all researched and compiled to provide a safe and healing diet to help alleviate the symptoms of endometriosis.

The book includes over 250 recipes plus recommendations of what to leave out of your diet and why; tips about estrogen and your diet, and how to keep it in balance; details of substitute ingredients for dairy products and baking; snippets of nutritional advice woven among the recipes; a range of recipes from simple and easy to cook through to more exotic ideas, including some recipes for parties and catering.

This is the second edition of the book, and to date there has been lots of very positive feedback from women who have followed the recipe suggestions in this book. Some women have even managed to be totally symptom free and have been able to return to normal activities in life, as well as the added benefit of loosing weight.

The purpose of the endometriosis diet is to relieve or even prevent some of the disabling symptoms that occur with menstruation, as well as the general pain of endometriosis. The diet also aims to decrease estrogen levels, stabilize hormones, increase energy levels, reduce inflammation and alleviate painful cramps.

A very good resource to help women follow the diet for endometriosis.

The Case for Peace: How the Arab-Israeli Conflict Can be Resolved
The Case for Peace: How the Arab-Israeli Conflict Can be Resolved In The Case for Peace, Dershowitz identifies twelve geopolitical barriers to peace between Israel and Palestine–and explains how to move around them and push the process forward. From the division of Jerusalem and Israeli counterterrorism measures to the security fence and the Iranian nuclear threat, his analyses are clear-headed, well-argued, and sure to be controversial. According to Dershowitz, achieving a lasting peace will require more than tough-minded negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians. In academia, Europe, the UN, and the Arab world, Israel-bashing and anti-Semitism have reached new heights, despite the recent Israeli-Palestinian movement toward peace. Surveying this outpouring of vilification, Dershowitz deconstructs the smear tactics used by Israel-haters and shows how this kind of anti-Israel McCarthyism is aimed at scuttling any real chance of peace.

Resolved: A Novel
Resolved: A Novel Manhattan ADA Butch Karp returns in this fifteenth outing in Robert Tanenbaum's popular series--this time he's the hunted as well as the hunter, and he's being stalked by a man he sent to prison over a decade ago--a psychopath who supposedly died in prison. But Felix Tighe is very much alive, and now he's the paid assassin of a group of Islamic fundamentalists whose terrorist goals will make 9/11 look like a training exercise. Tighe has his own violent score to settle with Karp, his estranged wife Marlene, and their three children--particularly Lucy, who's no stranger to demons like Felix. Tanenbaum's plotting is confident and his pacing assured--he's a master of the legal thriller, as good if not better than Grisham and his peers, and he works from an insider's knowledge of Manhattan's criminal justice milieu. But what makes this series remarkable is the author's ability to keep his characters fresh and interesting by putting them in circumstances that reveal more of their emotional, spiritual and marital dimensions with every new adventure. Resolved is a terrific read. --Jane Adams

Open Question: Don't you find it funny how....?
The Books and Author section of Yahoo Answers is being taken over by pointless Twilight questions. I'm sure they meant this section to be about proper books and not pointless things like WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE PERSON FROM TWILIGHT? OMG TWILIGHT? OMFFFFFFFFG TWILIGHT. Its like, every 2minuets when you refresh theres a new Twilight question. All the recent questions are TWILIGHT TWILIGHT TWILIGHT, all the resolved questions are TWILIGHT TWILIGHT TWILIGHT. In a few years, all you twilight obsessed people will look back at yourselves and laugh. (I know this question is pointless too, and i know its not even a question but i just wanted to say this.) Open Question: What do you think of this interpretive essay on the Odyssey (Book 15)?
-Freshman english class. Interpreting Telemachus' personal growth. Anything I should change? Odyssey Essay, Book Fifteen Stage Three December 26, 2008 Telemachus? Personal Growth In Book Fifteen, Homer shows Telemachus? personal growth and maturity when he displays tact with Menelaus, recognizes threats to his growth as was the case with Nestor, assumes leadership aboard his ship, and shows hospitality to Theoclymenus. However, Homer also shows Telemachus displaying many immature qualities that he previously possessed. While Telemachus has shown some obvious signs of gaining maturity, he clearly still has much to learn and his initiation cannot be considered complete. He asks Pisistratus to ?hitch the team to the chariot? (15.52) and ?head for home at once!? (15.53) Pisistratus refuses, explaining ?Much as we long to go/we cannot drive a team in the dead of night.? (15.54-55). They both understandably wish to return home, but Pisistratus exhibits clearer thinking and recognizes that it is not possible at that time, while Telemachus? eagerness threatens his ability to make good decisions. Pisistratus also understands the need to show appreciation for Menelaus? hospitality by accepting any gifts given to them, something Telemachus does not consider. In Books Three and Four, Pisistratus was used as a foil to Telemachus; he is being used that way here as well, contrasting Telemachus? impatience to Pisistratus? discipline. However, Telemachus shows wise thinking and tact when handling the conflict he has with Nestor. He requests to bypass Pylos as they travel home, fearing Nestor?s overbearing hospitality would prevent him from continuing his journey: ?Your father?s old, in love with his hospitality;/I fear he?ll hold me, chafing in his palace?/I must hurry home!? (15.223-225) Nestor highly admires Telemachus, and here he is presented as a threat to his personal growth. Telemachus acknowledges this problem and is able to confront it beforehand. This proactive behavior is normally seen in Odysseus, and is another indication that Telemachus is becoming more like his father, a clear sign of his initiation in progress. Nestor?s actions and Telemachus? subsequent response present an interesting perspective on hospitality, as it is normally portrayed as a necessary virtue to Greeks; however, here Nestor?s hospitality is seen in a negative light, as an obstacle to Telemachus. Telemachus presses Menelaus to allow him to return home, but Menelaus continues to push gifts upon him, his pride interfering with his hospitality. Telemachus bluntly tells him, ?I must go back to my own home at once./ When I started out I left no one behind/ to guard my possessions. God forbid,/ searching for my great father, I lose my life/ or some priceless treasure from my house! (15.97-101) Here Telemachus shows his enhanced leadership abilities and the ability to hold his ground, described as ?firmly resolved? (15.95) when speaking to Menelaus. When Telemachus and Menelaus are saying goodbye to each other, Menelaus asks Telemachus to ?Give my warm greetings/ to Nestor, the great commander.? (15.167-168). Telemachus agrees to, even though he does not plan on visiting him. Telemachus? lying and tactfulness is another example of his maturing and becoming more like his father. As he prepares to flee Pylos, Telemachus is approached by a fugitive, Theoclymenus, whom he graciously takes back to Ithaca with him: ?How could I drive you from my ship? Come sail with us,/we?ll tend you at home, with all we can provide.? (15.312-314). Telemachus has learned the importance of hospitality, something in earlier books he was not able to show very well without appearing awkward, as he was to Pisistratus and Nestor in Book Three. After Theoclymenus and Telemachus board their ship, Telemachus takes charge and gives orders to his crew, which they promptly follow. Compared to earlier books, Telemachus? leadership ability has improved dramatically. In Book Two, when he attempted to issue an ultimatum on the suitors, he was repeatedly mocked by them. In addition to Telemachus showing hospitality towards him, Theoclymenus, a gifted seer, was able to interpret a sign sent down by Zeus. As Telemachus and Odysseus finished a conversation, a hawk flew down from the sky, gripping a dove in its claws. Theoclymenus interprets this message as such ?No line more kingly than yours/ in all of Ithaca?yours will reign forever!? (15.597-598), much like the prophecy interpreted by Halitherses in Book Two. Each time Odysseus? reign or revenge upon the suitors is mentioned to Telemachus, he becomes very pessimistic about Odysseus? fate, in this case saying ?If only?all you say comes true!? (15.599) After Helen interprets a prophecy earlier in the book, Telemachus shows this same behavior: ?Oh if only,/?Zeus the thundering lord of Hera makes it so? (15.200-201), as well as when saying goodbye to Menelaus: ?I wish I were just as sure I?d find Odysseus/ waiting there at home I'm sorry it got all messed up when I copied it in, it's supposed to be separate paragraphs :] (more...)

Open Question: Please post your thoughts on what I think we should do to save B&A?
We all know about the Twilight fans vs haters 'war' going on. On every Twilight question there is a basher, yet on every page there is one of those Twilight questions. Am I the only one who gets the feeling that people are about to snap? The Twilight hype is massive, as is its fan base, and as such it has a LOT of haters as well. In my opinion, there are four groups of people you could fit into based on your opinion of Twilight: the Edward Cullen mob/noobs, the Twilight fans (I will point out the differences later), the people who dislike the series and the haters/bashers. The Edward lovers/Twilight noobs - You know the type. The ones who pound B&A with the 'OMG WHAT DO U THINK OF EDWARD?!?!?!?!?! HES SOOO HOT!!!', or use other such annoying bad grammar/pointless questions. Also people who ask, 'I hEaRd MiDnIgHt SuN wOnT bE pUbLiShEd?!?! PLEASE ANSWER?'. The Fans - I count myself as part of this group. The people who like/love/are obsessed with the Twilight saga because of the writing style, depth and characters. NOT just because of Edward. The ones who are getting sick of the lovers and haters alike. Who prefer to search a question to see if it has been answered decently before asking it. In other words, the people who love Twilight, and may love Edward, but are not madly IN LOVE with Edward because they realise there will never be a guy as perfect as him in real life and/or have a boyfriend and are content to dream; just not obsessively. Most dislikers (in my experience) have no problem with this type of fan because they are not obsessively in love. A fair few fans are sick of the lovers AND the haters. The Dislikers - I, personally, see this group as the people who have a dislike, maybe even a strong dislike, for the Twilight saga but are not bashers. They are smart enough to figure, 'Hey, my opinion isn't going to change anyone else's. Okay, I don't like the books but some people do. I'm not going to slam anyone for their taste in books'. These are the haters that most fans respect even if their opinion is different because they are nice enough about it. The Bashers - It has to be said. The group who copy and paste 'TWILIGHT AND STEPHENIE MEYER SUCK SOOO BAD TWILIGHT IS **** AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT MUST ALL BE LIKE 10 YEARS OLD' or the like, or point out in every Twilight question they see why they hate the books (or even worse, ask questions like, 'What's the deal with this Twilight stuff?!!? It's stupid.')You know if you fit into this group. You're not doing B&A any favours, okay? Oh, and one more thing I'd like to mention: Edward Cullen lovers, imagine if you had never heard of the saga. You log on to YA, go to B&A and see half the first page filled with Twilight questions. You go to see what all the hype is about and see people dissing Twilight on every question about how much people love Edward (or Jacob, for that matter). Not going to leave a great impression. That's how some people turn into bashers without even reading the books. Now: what I propose we do. You should know by now where you stand. Here's what I think would make B&A a more peaceful and less frustrating place for everyone: Edward lovers - search your question in the search bar before you ask. You will be saving yourself 5 points and some bashing. Keep the Caps Lock key off when you're asking a question. Try to use grammar better so you don't anger people. Fans - Don't complain endlessly about the lovers/haters. Try to answer questions helpfully, and suggest the search bar in a nice way (I go one step further and give the person a link to a resolved question that is exactly the same). Dislikers - Try not to stereotypical about the fans, and try not to turn into a basher. Aviod the Twilight questions if you are sick of them. State your opinion of the books without provoking people if possible. Bashers - Simple: stop bashing. I know a lot of people who hate Twilight and are on YA, and guess what? They don't like the bashers either. All you are doing is earning yourselves a hell of a lot of thumbs downs. And not just from the fans. On the topic of the impersonators...they're not doing any harm. Personally I find it amusing that they try to answer in a way that the characters would. Angry reactions just provoke them. And this, my friends, is what I will be doing. I follow this. I want to know if other people think it's a good idea or, even better - if they'll try to do what it suggests, or something along those lines. If this prevents one question, persuades one user to search for answers before asking, or (in the unlikely event) stops one basher it will have been worth my while. Remember the old B&A? We need to be back to that. Thoughts? Anything to add? Please post! I hope I have not offended anybody by this, but honestly it's getting ridiculous. And I apologize for the long post. Anyone who has been bothered to read it all...thank you! XD Thank you, anti-twilight, for a good answer and a great suggestion. I think that would make everyone happy! Other categories would still get the odd Twilight question, but it would be nothing compared to now. Thank you, Mia C. You have some great points. Thank you, Haylee M! Then this rant/proposal has done its job - partly. I really appreciate it. (more...)

Open Question: I need some creative ideas for my a midsummers night dream type of story?
here is the deal: I need to write a short story (the plot is strikingly similar to a midsummer nights dream) and its due tomorrow. What I wanted to do was make the characters foods in the refridgerator. It isnt going to be all mythical like the actual book, its just going to be one of those mixed up love squares. girl 1 likes boy one but boy one likes girl 2, who likes boy 2, who likes girl one. then both boys fall for girl one. girl two gets jealous. Any creative ideas or tidbits on how to resolve this or anything that I could throw in to make the story interesting. Keep in mind the setting is in a fridge and the characters are foods. I was thinking fruit and veggies. (more...)

Open Question: do you think we should get involved?
please read carefully and to the end before answering. thank you! considering we already have enough on our plate in the middle east, do you think (if we havent already in some way, shape, or form) should step in at any time to stop whats going on in gaza. we have always backed the israelis to ensure their survival, culture, way of life, and reason to exist, however; this looks to be another vietnam if we get involved. my view on vietnam is this, there was no "cold war," we fought the russians and the russians fought us indirectly by attacking our allies and we attack theirs, since they backed the communist party of korea which was miniscule compared to our allies which preffered democricy in korea, but they won. so in a broad sense we were in conflict with them like coaches to boxers, who is the better of the two? i believe it will never be determined and will be (in my book) a stale mate between USA and Russia until we face off toe to toe to settle once and for all who is the better of the two. we both have potential to destroy the world over, and neither of us wants to find out. good for the rest of the world, but tensions are still there, and collateral damage is what's stopping us from going heads up, since their scientists and advisors and as smart as ours for not testing the theoretic scenario. i feel this conflict is never going to be resolved and is potential to cause a world war III, since niether side is willing to appretiate the other sides arguement. this has been going on for centuries and will never be at and end until one is eliminated. its like brothers fighting in the same house, nothing is going to be resloved until one moves out, but no one wants to budge. diplomacy will never work, but is the ONLY way to get them to stop, but no one will sit at the table with an open mind. sadly, what do we do before it ends up that palestine takes a page from the nazi book and decides thats the best case scenario for their agenda is to finish what hitler did could not. and even in that era, i feel that we should have gotten involved long before the japanese attacked us. makes no sense that we ended everything just because of a country that was 2nd string when the first string was doing all the damage. what do we do?? do your research and history, please! i wish i could give more then 10 points for this Q, but i wanna know your perspective. (and if you are military, please state) (more...)

Open Question: How old is the sphinx and what do we base this off of?
I want to believe the sphinx in egypt is older than we currently believe. Edgar Cayce says it was there roughly 12000 years ago and I know of a book published before he started giving readings that agrees with many of his other ideas about Egypt. There are two that I know of that followed which also seem to correlate with these ideas. This doesn't prove anything though because there really isn't anything to back any of this up. I have often heard that there is damage related to water that dates the sphinx back to this time but if that were true experts surely would have made some changes. To put this all to rest I would like to know what evidence egyptologists have for dating it to a much later time. If anyone has the knowledge to resolve this please be very clear and complete. Resolved Question: Priority question: Why do many elderly husbands, want to ignore their wives?
I have learned what it is to be lonely, even when my spouse lives with me. He buries himself in books, or the tv, not wanting to be disturbed. I would like some casual conversation at times, and he has his own interests and doesn't want to be disturbed, unless it's his idea to talk. Is this common with older couples? I'd like to resolve this problem. I'm restricted from outside activity like taking walks, shopping, socializing, due to COPD, and mobility problems from a car accident. So people have to come and visit me, generally. My friends are long distance, so I talk seldom to them. I rely on the internet to reach them instead. I'd read also, but can't get a new eye lens perscription this year on insurance. So I do what tasks I can, watch tv little, and stay on the computer more to entertain myself. Thanks for all of the valid tips so far. (more...)
