Some Like It Hot
Some Like It Hot Billy Wilder's classic comedy stars Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis as a pair of unemployed musicians who inadvertently become witnesses to the St. Valentine Day's Massacre. To escape the wrath of the gangsters, Joe (Curtis) and Jerry (Lemmon) are forced to hit the road in drag, taking the only jobs available with an all-girl band bound for Miami. Enroute, both men fall for lead singer and blond bombshell Sugar Kane, (Marilyn Monroe), but are unable to fulfill their desires for fear of revealing their identity. Joe tries to get around this by adopting a third identity for seduction, that of a shy millionaire who sounds strangely like Cary Grant. Meanwhile Jerry has his own problems, fighting off the advances of Osgood E. Fielding, a real millionaire hypnotized by his/her charms.

Jaws
Jaws From the best-selling novel by Peter Benchley, Steven Spielberg directed this thrill ride of terror. During the height of beach season, the Massachusetts resort town of Amity Island is terrorized one summer by surprise attacks from a great white shark. Three unlikely partners team up to hunt down the rogue and destroy it: the new chief of police from New York (Roy Scheider), a young university-educated oceanographer (Richard Dreyfuss), and a crusty old-time fisherman (Robert Shaw). The film shoot was notoriously difficult for the young Spielberg, who had directed only one feature film before JAWS. The mechanical shark seldom operated correctly, and Spielberg was frequently forced to create the idea of terror without actually showing the shark. However, after the film premiered it went on to become the highest-grossing film of all time--surpassing THE GODFATHER and becoming the first film to gross more than a hundred million dollars. Composer John Williams created the score to JAWS, which has since become a well-known theme of impending doom. Ron and Valerie Taylor were responsible for filming live sharks in Australia; their sequences were later mixed with footage of the mechanical shark.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall [Blu-ray]
Forgetting Sarah Marshall [Blu-ray] Breaking up is hard to do--but that doesn't mean you can't have some belly laughs about it. Forgetting Sarah Marshall provides that rare treat: a romantic comedy about breakups, that is both romantic and funny. The laughs, especially from writer-star Jason Segel, are both heartfelt and raunchy, and the film is just unexpected enough that it keeps the viewer's attention till the end. The touches of producer Judd Apatow, who's famously retooled rom-coms to appeal to guys as much as women, are woven throughout the film, but Segel's script, reportedly based on many of his own experiences, is fresh and original. And adult. Forgetting Sarah Marshall features male genitalia laffs presented in unexpected and human ways (the nude breakup scene is played for giggles but also deep poignancy), and the language and sex scenes are strictly for grownups--and rightly so. Segel's script, and his performance as Peter, show that he understands the true nature of adult relationships, which provides the refreshing difference between this film and some of Apatow's other crude creations. The cast is sublime; Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) plays title character Sarah, a self-absorbed actress, and Russell Brand is her new British honey who accompanies her to--what are the chances?--the exact same Hawaiian resort as Peter, who's nursing his broken heart. Mila Kunis plays Rachel, the resort employee who gives Peter a reason to hope, and Paul Rudd is the surfing instructor who gives him his own brand of heartfelt advice ("When life gives you lemons, just say 'F--- the lemons' and bail," he says cheerily). The pacing is screwball, and the absurdities fly (a "Dracula" musical puppet show, and a surprisingly lovely Hawaiian version of "Nothing Compares 2 U"). Nothing the viewer will forget any time soon.--A.T. Hurley

Open Question: I need some advice. I have been scammed by a company in FL. How do I find a Lawyer? What type of Lawyer?
It's a company that sells prepaid vacations at resorts. This past Oct, we tried to use one of our vacations and were denied. The hotel had vacancies, its just that they wanted us to sign addtl' documents that appeared to be "signing up" again--I refused--so they would not take my reservation. They have my money, yet won't provide the service. Their rating is an "F" on the BBB--found out too late!! I have all the documentation I need, i.e, emails, signed contract, receipts, etc. Any ideas on finding a Lawyer to help? Thank you to anyone who can help. (more...)

Resolved Question: Which is more romantic: the beach or the mountains?
I want to plan a vacation for me and boyfriend sometime this coming year. I'd like it to be nice and at least a little romantic (seeing that it will be our first trip together). I'm torn between going to the beach or going to the mountains: more specifically between a NC/SC beach or the Smokey Mountains. Which do you think will be more fun? Going to the beach or going to a mountain resort town? (more...)

Open Question: Natural Florida Vacation?
I am not looking at going to theme parks or crowded popular beaches. Quiet Clean Vacation with white sand, aqua water seashells tropical fish. Open Question: Best Hawaiian Resorts for young couples?
My husband and I were recently married; already been on our honeymoon, but looking to plan another vacation for September 20-28th. I'm thinking about going to Hawaii ( we were in Aruba on our honeymoon and loved it!). Anyways, we are a young active couple...enjoy relaxing on the beach, but also playing beach volleyball, meeting other young couples, having a few beach-side drinks, or going on on the town in the evenings for a nice meal and some fun. So, we want to go to a resort that meets our taste. Are there any recommendations!? I would prefer to stay in Oahu but if there are some great ones on the other islands, I may reconsider! Suggestions, please :) (more...)

Open Question: Anyone have ideas for a summer vacation driving distance from Denver Colorado?
I recently started working for a school and have all summer off with my 2 kids who are 8 (boy) and 10 (girl). I'm looking for a vacation spot within a day or two drive of the Denver area. We have already been to the mountain resorts and local spots many times and are looking for something fun that is a little further away. We enjoy sightseeing, the outdoors and educational experiences but don't have any camping equipment (and really don't want to buy it). Any suggestions or experiences to share? (more...)
