Open Question: A Question About New York Colleges HELP PLEASE!?
I took this stupid test online from Belford High School. It's an online program that allows you to get your diploma in just 7 days! I've called some colleges and none accept it. Does anyone know anybody or any college in New York that accepts this type of diploma?? Please only fair answers! (more...)

Open Question: Parents- would you let your 16 year old....?
I'm 16 years old and in my final year of school- a bit young, I know. Anyway, I've been looking at colleges in Dublin, which is at the opposite side of the country to where I live- about 4 hours away. So hopefully, by next September, I'll be living and studying in Dublin. However, my parents think I am too young to live so far away on my own. Since it's so far away I'll only get home about once a month. Besides that, I've only ever been to Dublin about four times in my life and I don't know the city that well. But I figure I will be in a student area so I should get used of it pretty soon. Would you let your 16 year old daughter go to college so far away? Would you worry about her? Thanks!! (more...)

Open Question: am i being realistic ?
Ive only just started high school, but family and friends are making such a big deal about what I'm doing with my life, Sure my grades aren't as good as they should be, & I'm in Applied courses, I'm cutting myself short, and like most Teenagers my age, i don't attend classes everyday, sometimes there are days in which id just rather Stay home and Rest. My goal for the new year is to Be more responsible, I've made myself a plan for the future, in the beginning it consisted of staying in Canada, Take up a Part time job later this year to pay for College, Finish high school, (Stay an extra year, to get extra Credits), move into a Condo/Apartment in Burlington, go to Canadian Therapeutic College, and after my two year course, i would move to wear ever i had a Placement to work. But i want to get as far away as i can, My father completely despises me, & is already talking about kicking me out when I'm 18, Ive done nothing to Deserve this, and they've done everything to loose my trust and Respect. Im just looking at other Possibilities, and Ive come up with an Idea, If i were to go to California they have an outstanding institute to practice massage therapy, and my salary in the USA is 30x higher than my salary would be if i Worked here in Ontario. This sounded like a good decision at first, but there is so much more to think about, when im thinking about the whole image. first) I would most definitely have to bring a friend with me, someone i can depend on, someone i can go out with, & someone to split the rent with. second) The rent, Not only do i have to pay for College, i have to pay for Rent, and possibly a Car third) To go to college in the usa, you have to get Accepted, here in Canada you don't, you just pay & learn, so there is always the Chance i don't get accepted, seeing as my grades aren't great and i would have a High school diploma from Canada. forth) Immigration from Canada to Usa. Is following my Dreams in the California, to much ? am i being Realistic? (more...)

Open Question: do u think its better 2 do college courses online or the regular way by just going to the school or campus.?

Open Question: For high school girls with boyfriends in college..?
My boyfriend of almost 9 months just went back to school for 2nd semester and i already miss him terribley. He won't get as much free time to just chat like he did last semester (he his the god of multi-tasking though). And when he's home for spring break i'm probably going to be in colorado, so it's probably going to be a really long time before i'll get to see him again unless i beg my parents to take me the two hours to his school (negotiations on that are already underway.) In the mean time, how do i not feel so lonely? about the long distance thing, they do work. he was one of my best friends for 4 years before we started dating and we got through some really terrible stuff in the beginning, so i know we can make it through this. the long distance isn't the question here, the missing him is. Open Question: Question about Pharmacy School and Becoming a Pharmacist?
I'm a 21 year old, sincerely considering becoming a Pharmacist. The community college I applied for has a two year pre-pharmacy program that transfers to the major university's pharmacy program that earns you your PharmD. Here is the description the University offers for that: "The Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (PharmD) is the entry-level professional degree offered by the College. The Doctor of Pharmacy degree is fully accredited by The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education. Graduates of this program are eligible to take the national licensure examination (NAPLEX) offered by the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy. The Doctor of Pharmacy curriculum is divided into two years of pre-pharmacy education at the undergraduate level followed by competitive admission into the final four years of professional pharmacy education at the graduate level. The pre-pharmacy curriculum combined with the four years of professional pharmacy curriculum provides a student with the education and training necessary to be competent to practice pharmacy as well as the skills required to participate in continuous life long learning." With that being said, how long do you believe it would take me to get my PharmD? It seems like it could be anywhere from 4 to 8 years but I'm having a hard time distinguishing based on the fact I have to take the two years of pre-pharmacy in community college before I will be able to transfer to the major university. 8 or even 6 years is a very discouraging number of years to have to go to college, already being age 21. Any insight? Also, for those of you who know...do you reccomend a job as a pharmacist? Do you think there is a better feild I could get into? I've always been interested in holistic healing and massage, but I want a job I know I will be secure in so I thought this would be a good alternative. Thank you! P.S. The community college is Raymond Walters and the University I would be transferring to would be University of Cincinnati. I can't got straight to UC, I have to go to community college first.
