Resolved Question: Help! I'm not sure anymore!.....?
We met by chance when he almost ran over me with a bike in Colorado. We started talking and realized we lived near one another in Kansas City, KS we soon started dating after that and had a great first year. But we soon realized that we are complete opposites, we don?t share any hobbies and have different points of view on everything and it cause a lot of fights betweens the two of us. We have been together for 4 years now and broke up and got back together about 7 times now. Which I think is a bit much. The last time was the first time for me to leave him; we got back together because he begged me and did a large number sweet thing to change my mind. But it just doesn?t feel like it use to any more. I know that every person I date I?ll just compare to him and that I don?t really feel like being with anyone else. But I can?t continue with all the drama that comes with the relationship. I don?t know if I can handle it with everything else going on in my life. (Full-time student, Full- time job, family problems, health problems, etc.) I know I can live with out him but I don?t I if I want to?. I need some other point of view. What is your opinion? Voting Question: Rustic elegant decor/color scheme....?
Hi. I have a lovely two story brick faced colorado colonial. Inside there is solid Alder doors and wide floor trim in Alder (simialr to knotty pine but nicer) and the interior windows are all trimmed in Alder as well. I am preparing a color scheme with Eddie Bauer colors that are rich and deep in intensity. Do you think a pallete of four colors is too much for the house? I am picking a color called Oatmeal (sort of a gray/beige (warm) for most of the open areas. Livingroom , three walls Parika and one wall oatmeal....kitchen shares space with open livingroom so pulling Parika in and ceiling trim with oatmeal. Seperate rooms not "visual" at a glance include office, diningroom and bedroom. Color schemes are hunter green, ivory ceiling, oatmeal sopphits and "chocolate" with ivory ceiling in master suite. I am worried....any input? I have lots of wood, wrought iron and stone in the house with leather sofas...I am hoping this warms things up a bit and will be softening the room further with Dupoini silk curtain panels.....honest feedback please.....thanks. Resolved Question: Isn't that weird that there are people who share the same names as real celebrities and fictional characters?
I know that I asked a question like this before, but I like getting interesting answers to my questions from people and I would like to hear more. It's weird that there are some people in the world who share the same full name - given first name and surname - as famous people. Here are some examples that I picked up, as according to the links of its web sources: 1.) Peter Griffin, a long-forgotten disco singer who shares the same name as the "Family Guy" character: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=beuM3HNnMkU 2.) Regina George, an already deceased girl who shares the same name as the "Mean Girls" character: http://www.reginageorge.com/ 3.) Lisa Simpson, a University of Colorado student who shares the same name as the "Simpsons" character: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/3268407/detail.html 4.) Eric Forman, a "That '70s Show" character who shares the same name as the "House" character although with different spelling (though I'm more of a "That '70s Show" viewer than a "House" viewer): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Forman Do you know that it is weird that there are people who share the same names as real celebrities and fictional characters? I suppose you have some of your own examples that you would like to share. Include the web link if necessary. Oddly enough, I also knew a girl named Regina George. Not the already deceased girl mentioned above, but rather a high school student that I was acquainted with. (more...)

Resolved Question: Fox News Watchers: Were You Shocked Your Pundits were all Wrong?
October 30: "But first--it is close, even closer than it was last night. It is now a three-point race for the White House. A new Fox News poll shows the race tightening, with Senator Obama at 47 percent and Senator McCain at 44 percent." -- Fox News host Greta van Susteren "Well, he [Obama] ought to be nervous because of the margin of error, and he also ought to be nervous because, clearly, the national race is tightening.... He's not a good closer. I mean, there is a resistance to him, a doubt about whether or not he's experienced and qualified enough to be president that causes people at the tail end of the race not to end up in his column, and I suspect we're seeing that again.... It's because of this persistent doubt that people have about Senator Obama." -- Fox News analyst Karl Rove "Now the polling, the Fox News poll, which shows Obama closing the gap from -- McCain closing it from 9 to 3 shows two completely different trends at work. Young people are turning away from Obama and toward McCain, driven by the tax issue." --Dick Morris MORRIS: My bet is McCain wins all of the undecided in this race. HANNITY: Well, if that happens, he wins the race. MORRIS: Right now it's tied. HANNITY: If that. MORRIS: No, right now it's about tied. "Brand new Fox polls are in and this race is tightening." --Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly "The latest Fox News/Opinion Dynamics Poll of likely voters nationwide, which Major Garrett was just mentioning, shows that the race is tightening considerably from last week, with Barack Obama's overall lead over John McCain is shrinking from nine points to three; that's within the margin of error." --Fox News correspondent James Rosen October 31: "We are down to the wire. And guess what? The race is far from over. The Associated Press is reporting that a study shows one in seven are persuadable. That means this isn't over. And if you don't believe that, how about this news? The polls are tightening. A new Fox News poll shows Senator Obama at 47 percent and Senator McCain at 44 percent." -- Greta van Susteren HANNITY:One of the more amazing things is the numbers of undecided, anywhere between eight and 14. You know Dick Morris interprets that that is -- that means Obama can't close the deal and that people have doubts about him and it appears by the tightening that's going on that those voters are moving toward Senator McCain. Do you share that analysis? ROVE: I think Dick is largely right. There has been a persistent nagging concern on the part of the American people about whether or not Barack Obama is qualified to be president. * * * HANNITY: Are you looking at the polls? There's a real tightening going on. Very interesting to me, as it's happening. Seems Barack Obama cannot close. Why? FOX NEWS ANALYST MIKE HUCKABEE: I think there is the lingering doubt as to what he's going to do to people's personal income. This is not about -- you know, right now it's not about even terrorism or international affairs. Joe the plumber hit the reset button on this entire election. "Apparently, for our audience's sake, apparently, big move in the polls. McCain up by one, Drudge is reporting, in the latest Zogby poll. It's going to come out tomorrow." --Sean Hannity "In a surprise turnaround, get this, a brand new Fox News poll find that John McCain is surging among younger voters, those under 30 years old. He is catching up to Barack Obama's 48 percent, McCain has 43 percent. I think those numbers are wrong - 48 to 58 percent among voters under the age of 30." --Fox News host Heather Nauert NAUERT: ... McCain has gained 10 points with the youth vote within the last week? MORRIS: Yes. In the last week, among voters 18 to 30, McCain has vis-a- vis Obama has closed the gap by 20 points. November 2: "Two days and counting until you decide our next president. With the polls tightening, is John McCain about to pull off one more remarkable comeback?" --Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace November 3: SEAN HANNITY: Investors Business Daily, which was the most accurate poll in the last presidential election, now has it down to a two-point race.? You know, Colorado was just, you know -- a week and a half two weeks ago, it was supposed to be a blowout. It's now right there at the margin of error. The same with the state of Virginia. Again, that was, you know, supposed to be a blowout. And then we look, for example, we've got Senator McCain is up in Florida. He's tied in Missouri. He's now up in North Carolina, which was supposed to be a blowout for Senator Obama. There--something has happened here fairly dramatic. And do you think that this could even go further by the time people vote tomorrow? (more...)

On Tuesday, the Virginia Pilot reported that a phony Board of Elections flier was circulating the state "advising Republicans to vote on Nov. 4 and Democrats on Nov. 5." Voting, of course, is on the 4th only, creating fear among neutral observers and the Obama campaign that people were simply going to miss the opportunity to go to the polls. Earlier this month, meanwhile, an anonymous flier was circulating in predominantly African-American neighborhoods in Philadelphia telling voters they could be arrested at the polls if they show up to vote with outstanding arrest warrants or unpaid parking tickets. This is also untrue. Dirty tricks and phony fliers represent the dark underside of nearly every election. And certainly, when it comes to the current contest, these tactics started long ago. Last March, as Time Magazine noted, a letter was being sent around Colorado, warning that out-of-state students could not register if their parents claimed them as dependents in another state." One of the more common falsities making its way through email chains has warned voters in some states (updated below) that they will be turned away from the polls if they wore paraphernalia demonstrating their support for one particular candidate. Since these antics are becoming more and more common we encourage readers to send in tips or episodes they have witnessed to the Huffington Post. UPDATE: Several readers have pointed out that, in fact, several states do prohibit passive electioneering (buttons, t-shirts, etc.) in polling places. In Texas, for example, the law is as follows: [A] person may not wear a badge, insignia, emblem, or other similar communicative device relating to a candidate, measure, or political party appearing on the ballot, or to the conduct of the election, in the polling place or within 100 feet of any outside door through which a voter may enter the building in which the polling place is located. Resolved Question: you might be from Southern California if? and what is the best thing about San Diego?
Southern California, or So Cal, is defined as the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. Its population centers on the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura. The region is home to over 23 million people and is the nation's second most populated region, behind only the BosWash Region in the Northeastern United States. There is no official definition for the northern boundary of Southern California. However, most definitions in use include all the land south of the Tehachapi Mountains, located about 70 miles (113 km) north of Los Angeles. On the west of Southern California lies the Pacific Ocean; to the south is the international border between the United States and Mexico; to the east are the Mojave and Colorado Deserts and the Colorado River at the state's border with Arizona and Nevada. Southern California is also divided into the Coastal Region (Orange County, Los Angeles County, San Diego County, Santa Barbara County, and Ventura County) and the larger, more sparsely populated, desert Inland Empire (San Bernardino County, Riverside County, and Imperial County). The division between the Coastal Regions and the Inland Empire winds along the backs of the coastal mountain ranges such as the Santa Ana Mountains. A related geographical term is cismontane Southern California, which refers to the portion of California on the coastal side of the Transverse and Peninsular mountain ranges. The term "Southern California" often refers to this region specifically, as opposed to largely desert areas comprising the rest of the southern portion of the state, which are referred to as transmontane Southern California. San Diego (pronounced /?sændi?e?go?/) is a coastal Southern California city located in the southwestern corner of the continental United States. In 2007, the city's population was estimated to be 1,266,731.[1] It is the second largest city in California and the eighth largest city in the United States, by population. It is the county seat of San Diego County.[2] and is the economic center of the San Diego?Carlsbad?San Marcos metropolitan area, the 17th-largest in the United States with a population of 3,146,274 as of 2008, and the 21st-largest metropolitan area in the Americas when including Tijuana (See San Diego-Tijuana Metro.). San Diego County lies just north of the Mexican border?sharing a border with Tijuana?and lies south of Orange County. It is home to miles of beaches, a mild Mediterranean climate and 16 military facilities hosting the United States Navy, the United States Coast Guard and the United States Marine Corps. The presence of the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) with the affiliated UCSD Medical Center promotes research in biotechnology.[citation needed] San Diego's economy is largely composed of agriculture, biotechnology/biosciences, computer sciences, electronics manufacturing, defense-related manufacturing, financial and business services, ship-repair and construction, software development, telecommunications, and tourism. The city of San Diego itself has deep canyons separating its mesas, creating small pockets of natural parkland scattered throughout the city. The same canyons give parts of the city a highly segmented feel, creating literal gaps between otherwise proximal neighborhoods and contributing to a low-density, car-centered built environment. Downtown San Diego is located on San Diego Bay. Balboa Park lies on a mesa to the northeast. It is surrounded by several dense urban communities and abruptly ends in Hillcrest to the north. The Coronado and Point Loma peninsulas separate San Diego Bay from the ocean. Ocean Beach is on the west side of Point Loma. Mission Beach and Pacific Beach lie between the ocean and Mission Bay, a man-made aquatic park. La Jolla, an affluent community, lies north of Pacific Beach. Mount Soledad in La Jolla offers views from northern San Diego County to Mexico. Mountains rise to the east of the city, and beyond the mountains are desert areas. Cleveland National Forest is a half-hour drive from downtown San Diego. Numerous farms are found in the valleys northeast and southeast of the city. San Diego County has one of the highest counts of animal and plant species that appear on the endangered species list among counties in the United States.[3] (more...)

Resolved Question: Republicans: What scenario do you see McCain pulling out a win?
I have asked this many times...I just don't see it happening. Here is what he would have to do. RCP currently has it at 306-157 for Obama with 7 toss up states. I'll give McCain every toss up state(6 states he currently is not leading in and 1 that he is). That moves the race to 306-232 for Obama. I'll even give McCain PA because that is what he is banking on. That moves the race to 285-253....STILL in Obama's favor. I'll give McCain the lowest "leaning" Obama state, Colorado. That moves the race to 276-262. The next lowest leaning state is Ohio (+6.3 for Obama). That will finally give McCain the race at 256-282. So that means that McCain has to run the table on TEN states. Nine that he is currently not leading in. All Obama has to do is hold on to one of the big states, or two small states. I understand the race isn't over...but the confidence you guys show is staggering. Do you at least agree that McCain is fighting up hill and has an almost impossible task to complete (the task above) to be able to win??? Or if you have a different scenario that gives McCain the win...please share it with us. And by the way...this sceanrio hasn't really changed that much since the beginning of October. McCain has always needed around 8-10 states that he currently doesn't lead in. It has actually gotten worse since early October when he only needed 8 states he didn't have to win. So Paula...your scenario is that everyone is wrong and lying. Ok, I guess that is easier than my way...not realistic...but easier. No, the polls weren't wrong in 2004....that is the biggest lie of the election. (more...)
