Behind the Stained Glass
Longtime Wu-Tang Clan affiliate and Brooklyn native, Killah Priest returns with Behind The Stained Glass, the highly anticipated follow up to the 2007 acclaimed The Offering. Introduced to the world through a deeply spiritual, lyrically sharp verse on "B.I.B.L.E." from GZA's Liquid Swords, Killah Priest's first album, Heavy Mental released in 1998, was filled with intensely spiritual lyrics loaded with metaphors and religious references. Ten years later, this former Sunz of Man group member is back with Behind The Stained Glass proving his passion for quality rhymes and quality music. The album contains sixteen tracks of Priest showcasing why he is considered as one of the top lyricists in the game. He opens with the thunderous track "I Believe" and on "Hood Nursery" he puts a clever, gritty spin on a classic nursery rhyme. The album features appearances from 60 Second Assassin, Allah Sun, Jeni Fujita and Victorious. Behind The Stained Glass is what fans continue to beg for and Priest describes it himself as "me tapping into the inner priesthood side I think people need more of."

Open Question: Please critique my work? ?
And give me your honest opinions. (:
Thanks (:
These are 3 paragraphs in between (not an opener)
To my surprise, the door was already open. Weird, I thought. My parents always kept this door shut and locked. I slowly pushed the door open. A rusty breeze of gunpowder gently slapped my face. The bizarre smell made me cough as I searched the room I?ve never seen before. The first thing I saw was my parents? bed. The bed was vacant, the blue covers and white sheets were a mess, and there were gory red stains everywhere.
Deeply and gradually, oxygen tried to make its way back and forth through my mouth. Vile sweat drips collected on my forehead. My heart almost skipped a beat. Vibrating with fear, my arms didn?t keep still. Nausea engulfed me as the sight of four legs lying motionlessly on the other side of the room, to the left of the bed were in sight. Unknown painful emotions swept through me, and warned me that nothing was going to be alright.
As I crept closer to the four legs, my own trembled with fear. Amber followed me and stopped in front of the bed to have a little peek. Finally, I forced my eyes to look at my parents? corpses. I nearly collapsed and joined their homicide as I examined the assassination in horror. Leslie Brooke, my mother, was intensely scratched around her chest and shot near her heart. Her ragged, white nightgown was now a vermilion cloth that covered her deceased body. My eyes deliberately rolled to the left. Stanley Brooke, my stepfather, wasn?t as maimed as my mother, but he was also shot near his heart. He was still in his work clothes, which soaked up the blood. He held a pistol in one hand. In the other hand, there was a green glass bottle that probably contained gin. A pocketknife smothered in red liquid laid between them. My eyes itched as they craved tears. I trembled as I pulled their blanket over them.
Thanks :)

Open Question: Is it cheap or tacky to wear a train-less wedding dress in a cathedral-type church wedding ceremony? ?
I found a clearance ball gown wedding dress without a train that I like because it's cute and it's the right price. I guess it's considered an 'informal' wedding dress because there's no train and there's a little bit of color on it. My wedding will be in the mid-afternoon in July in a university chapel - quite formal looking, with stain-glass windows and and latin writing and stuff. Is it cheap or tacky of me to wear this 'informal' dress in such a formal church wedding ceremony site? I know I should 'do what I want' but I'd like some advice or opinions here...thanks!
Thanks for everyone's quick responses! I haven't bought the dress yet but it's on hold for me only for 3 more days so I have to decide fast.
I forgot to add the other factor that this dress is a size 12 and I'm a size 16. I've lost 13 pounds in 2 months (yeah for me!) and doing well on my weight loss. The wedding shop seamstress says they can make the dress fit me with alterations (there's a matching sash they can use for extra material). Do you think it's too risky?

Open Question: What do you think of my story so far??? VERY LONG.?
I waited eagerly for my best friend Becky, to arrive in La Beouf, one of the several cafés that resided in my small hometown, Hermthone.
She won?t be late. I told myself. She never forgets my birthday.
I drummed my fingers idly on the table I sat at, with my head resting in one hand, and my other hand trying to coax a wandering straw to stay in one place, while I attempted to drink my glass of - now warm - lemonade. I really wished I had something better to do other than bob my head up and down every two minutes, to check if she was coming through the window beside me. Unfortunately for me, there wasn?t much else to look at here, accept for the aging, croissant-related wallpaper that plastered the walls.
The café was quiet and empty. The only people in there besides myself were the staff and an old lady, who?s poor arms looked too frail to even hold the teacup she had pressed to her lips. The tangerine coloured clock ticked annoyingly loudly as the mi
nutes passed, and I continued to do more head bobbing and wallpaper staring.
Where IS she. I thought to myself. Perhaps I better g-. My thoughts were interrupted when two of people entered the café. I looked up, hoping that Becky would miraculously be with them; I was beginning to get tired of waiting. My eyes casually wandered over to the girl and boy that stood in front of the café door. They looked about seventeen, my age, and were pretty unusual looking, no-one I had ever seen before. They were carrying rather large backpacks, their clothes cut and torn, their hair wild and uncared for. Hikers. I thought.
My eyes first studied the girl. She was quite possibly the most unusual, yet striking, person I had ever laid eyes on. Her wavy, bright crimson red hair messily cascaded past her sharp, bony shoulders, delicately to her small waist, and was decorated with twigs and leaves. Her porcelain skin was blemish-free, and her face; the face of an angel, was very small, angular and almost pixie-like. Her eyes were sapphire in colour. She wore very loose fitting cargo pants which were very unflattering, and a navy jumper that looked at least 3-sizes too large. Her trainers were muddy and worn, and her navy backpack looked like it would snap her slender frame of roughly five feet, to pieces.
Her companion was quite different. His medium-length dark brown, could-be-mistaken-for-black hair was too, decorated with vegetation, and added mystery to his half-hidden sapphire stare. His medium build physique, towered gloriously over the girl, he was very tall next to her, probably six feet if not more, and his bronze skin shimmered in the florescent lighting. He too, wore ragged clothing; grass stained jeans, old trainers, and a turtleneck jumper with a backpack firmly placed upon his back. Despite his healthy body, his face was gaunt; his cheekbones jutted out alarmingly, as if he had been starving himself for weeks, and had only lost the weight on his face.
He looked ill. The only similarity between the boy and the girl, were their eye colour and emaciated faces.
Before I could conclude his features any longer, he spoke.
?Not here.? the boy said forcefully, his eyes darted about nervously under his mane as he listened to her retort.
?It is perfectly fine here, Nick. Don?t be awkward now, we?ve already told them to meet us here.? the girl spoke with a soft, yet firm voice.
?But that wasn?t a joint decision, now, was it?? he added slyly. The girl sighed,
tossed her crimson hair over her shoulder nonchalantly, and rolled her eyes at his remark. Her hair disturbed the air, sending wafts of a mouth watering fruity scent in my direction. I fought the urge to idiotically wave my hands about in the air, in gesture to try and cup the scent and force it towards my face so I could indulge in it a little longer. I fought that urge with great difficulty. Nice shampoo. I thought.
?Please. Please, Mel?? the boy started to beg, pressing his hands together as if to pray. ?Please??
?Definitely not, Nicholas! Stop moaning, people will start to stare.? she warned him, her eyes gleaming with annoyance.
?Like who? There is a little old lady, and a girl about our age.? he sneered.
?Yes. Those are people, good work.? she agreed sarcastically. ?People who will be very irritated if we keep this cabaret up. I don?t think the old lady can quite hear us, but the girl most certainly can.? she sighed, inspecting her already perfect fingernails for imperfections.
At the mention of my presence, I felt the blood rush to my cheeks, and as if that didn?t give away my inquisitiveness enough, my hand twitched and knocked over the ketchup and mustard sachet bowl that lived on the café table, I felt the sapphire eyes burn into my face.
I scrambled down to pick the sachets up, but before I could get there in time, they were already in the palms of other person; a person with bronzed skin. I dared to look up, just peeking through my brunette curls.
The blue pools stared back
sure thing :D
I actually wrote alot more than that...yahoo must have thought I wrote too much and cut the rest off..*sigh*

Open Question: is anyone else fed up of outdated religious viewpoints ruining the world?
stem cell research, if there wasnt such a massive backlash from various religious groups about it, genetic disease may have been a thing of the past. cloning, without outdated moral values stifling research we could be at a stage where anyone can have a organ replacement anytime. terrorists, all these silly people with backpack bombs and hand grenades. george bush, what right thinking atheist would elect a madman like him? but oh no he believes in god, he must be good then. there are hundreds if not thousands more examples of how religion influences science, culture and society.. the only good things i think it has done in well over 6000 years is give us some nice sculptures and paintings, stained glass is quite nice too. i used to think, live and let live, each to their own... but the fact is religion is a disease and if we dont stamp it out now we are all doomed, who is with me?
seriously though its mental how much religion influences the modern day world... it should be science not mysticism that we follow
whats religulus???? i did like borat though, the series was better than the film
my terrible grammer aside i think i make a fair point

Open Question: What do you think of my poem?
It's based on the book Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood.
Adhering to their obsolete expectations
Steadfast gazes over the garden gate because
Father doesn?t like us to wander
Unwanted interest in my affairs
They can?t let it go though I could not care less
If they had stained glass windows
I would not be the one to disapprove
Do you know what it could do to you
Brutality over bruised shoulder blades
In the sun dusted meadows of her heart the wild flowers wilted
Wheat fields cease production
Unselfish breezes stalled beneath the closed gates no longer leading forward because there is no forward after this journey and the blisters on your faith never heal
They cast glances in our direction as she crossed back and forth steadily wearing out the bridge between internal agony and something so serene love could not pull her from a voyaging mind but the dreams she lost are secrets they will never know
Each one in its time a valediction unseen until it was out of reach her fingertips grasping nothing but stale air in the moonlight absolution served to her on a petrified wooden platter
A revelation like death doesn?t ever reverse itself and after it burns like acid through your soul it still hasn?t had its share of fun torturing you but I?d hope to see it through because it doesn?t have to be like this
It doesn?t have to be the last thought to fill your mind it doesn?t have to be the last expression to cross your fearful face it didn?t have to be the last look in her forlorn eyes

Open Question: What are your thoughts on my writing?
The hospitals were pandemonium these days and as I sat on the plastic upright seat in the waiting area I could witness the staff running crazily with paper masks glued to their faces, needles in hand, ready to inject at any time.
I too had a mask upon my face and I assembled myself as far back into the chair as possible, careful not to touch anyone.
The coughing filled the room and the incredible heat in which the air conditioners were blowing caused me to perspire and stick to the plastic.
I looked to my left and saw a woman huddled in her chair. Her face was predominantly white but with a tinge of blue and her unfocussed eyes rolled around in their sockets as she racked her body with bloody coughs that stained her white tissue crimson.
I was hardly sickened by this sight anymore. I saw it every day and had witnessed its quick hold over my parents as they were immediately entangled by the deadly infectious disease.
There was no time for them, too quickly gone to say goodbye or prepare me for a life on my own in a dying world.
I should?ve felt emotion; I wanted and needed to feel emotion but the high dose medication numbed my senses and muddled my thoughts, leaving me in a constant daze with no clear concept of time, space and character.
?Gigi Woods,? announced the rough voice of a matronly nurse, calling from a white clipboard in front of the dying, lined up in a groveling mess.
I stood up and made my way across the white linoleum to the disapproving glance of the nurse.
?This way,? she griped and hurried off down one of the hallways.
Beds were a rare commodity these days and so the sick were left to fester in the open corridors, either lying on gurneys or chairs pushed together. The unlucky ones would have to deal with a blanket on the floor.
I stepped over spread legs and personal belongings, trying to drown out the sound of the moaning and aching, the desperate cries for help and more morphine.
The nurse ignored their pleas and outstretched hands as she pushed on through the chaos to an open door.
I stepped in and saw a large window in front of me with an aluminum table behind and a solitary light hanging over the table, highlighting the covered figures of two people.
A man was behind there as well and was dressed in scrubs with a mask and protective glasses.
The woman nodded her head and he removed the blankets from each person, pulling them down to their necks.
I was neither shocked nor upset, disgusted didn?t even come into my thoughts.
The woman looked at me and asked the question. ?Are these your parents??
I took a step closer to the two way mirror. ?Yes,? I whispered through my mask which was beginning to stick to my face in a claustrophobic way.
The woman motioned behind me and the blankets were once again pulled over, silencing them forever.
?My condolences to you,? she said before turning out of the room and leaving me to watch as the man turned off the light so that I was left looking at my own reflection.
I didn?t stay long, there was no need. They were dead and I would soon follow, so I left the hospital in a calmed state to walk back to my empty apartment.
I'm only eighteen so I don't expect it to be miraculous, but what are your thoughts?
Is there potential?

Resolved Question: Would you read this story?
It's a part in between in my novel somewhere around the 1st chapter. Would you want to know what happens next? Thanks! Honest opinions please. (:
To my surprise, the door was already open. Weird, I thought. My parents always kept this door shut and locked. I slowly pushed the door open, without having to pull its knob. The first thing I saw was my parents? bed. The bed was vacant, but the blue covers and white sheets were a mess. I was wondering where my parents wandered off.
That?s when I noticed the dark red stains on the bed. Many of them, everywhere. Mostly on my mother?s side of the bed. It was soaked up with blood. I felt my heart skip a beat. I was feeling nauseated from the sight of four legs lying motionlessly on the other side of the room, to the left of the bed. Worst of all, I was feeling unknown painful emotions sweep through me.
I crept closer to the four legs, my own, trembling with fear. Belle was following behind me and stopped in front of the bed to have a little peek. I finally got my eyes to look at my parents? corpses. My mother was stabbed around her chest and shot near her heart. My father was also shot near his heart. He held a pistol in one hand and in the other hand was a green glass bottle that probably contained alcohol. A pocketknife smothered in red liquid laid between them.
Thank you!
Feel free to criticize (:
