Open Question: Should I be less "weird"?
Ok,I'll admit,I'm odd according to most people.I wear strange outfits (pink tutu, cat eared hoody, tripp pants),speak my mind (I hate holister and twilight),do and say random things etc (my nightmares, pudding, dancing to unheard music). I get good grades and I'm usually not rude.I doing what I do because it makes me happy, and I like my outfits.I don't do it to get attention,or because it's some sort of fad. Now I'm 14 and I want to know if I should at least "tone it down" so that boys won't completely avoid me.I'm usually really confident at things like school work and my looks, but not so much when it comes to boys.I'd really like boys to like me,but I also really like my style. So should I be a little less "weird" or something. (more...)

Voting Question: I want to be an author?
Could you review the following... it is just the beggining to the story and I want to have others opinions Chapter 1 The sky shown brilliantly blue through the tiny plane window. Riley Eritta stared out, taking in for the first time the beautiful white and blue wonderland the sky held. Though she was 13, it was Riley?s first time flying. Even so, she felt somehow that she belonged in the sky, that it was a part of her and she was a part of it that had been there since the beginning of time. She wished she could fly with out the plane surrounding her, without the noisy people, the walls, the seats, and smell of barf. She wished she was a bird, who could be free, who could fly free. Riley was a foster child, and had been with many different kinds of family. Small ones, large ones, happy ones, and very angry ones where the parents were filing divorce and the children were running away. She had even been with some very kind families who she terribly wished she was still with, but it had always ended the same. Riley couldn?t explain it, but weird things always happened to her, and no one wants a child who could only cause trouble. Riley grimaced, remember the family she had recently left. They ha been wonderful, two loving parents a small girl, only 3 years old, named Allysa. Riley had been left in charge of her for an hour while the parents went the grocery store. What had happened was Allysa, who was usually sweet and well behaved, decided to show her bad side that night. After Allysa whined and cried for 10 minutes about how Riley hadn?t done her dolls hair correctly, an irritated Riley had said to her ?Elisa, please stop acting like such a little rat!? Elisa sniffled a little and nodded. ?Now go get ready for bed, sweetie.? Riley said sighing. Though baby-sitting duty wasn?t exactly ideal, she knew it was one of the sacrifices she?d have to make if she ever wanted to be part of a true family. Elisa did as she was told and went straight into the bathroom. Five minutes later, Riley heard screaming from the bathroom. She ran as quickly as possible, to find rats crawling through the walls, covering Elisa?s tiny body. Riley hit them off, panicking, picked up Elisa, ran, and slammed the bathroom door. Luckily, Elisa was unharmed, except she told her parents about the rats, and how Riley had said something about rats beforehand. Of course, the parents sent Riley away immediately, she couldn?t blame them, though, they couldn?t have known it was just a coincidence, no one could have. So now Riley was being shipped off from a small town in Florida to some unheard of ciy over in Europe. Big changes were ahead of her, and yet sitting in the crowded and dirty plane, she was perfectly content, for how was she to know what lay ahead. Of course, the glorious plane ride couldn?t have lasted forever. Eventually Riley was brought back down to Earth, and as soon as the plane landed she felt as she had before she boarded the plane a lonely young girl. When she got into the airport she was met by a tall, thin woman. Her hair was sleek and black, pulled into a tight knot on top of her head. Though she couldn?t have been older then 35, lines creased her long face and her skin seemed frail and thin over her prominent cheekbones. She spoke quickly in a deep British accent. ?So you must be Miss Riley Eritta, correct? I am Ms. Lexet? She stared down at Riley making her nervous and shy, She could barley choke out her next words. ?Y-yes ma?am. I am? She spoke so softly the new women had to strain her ears to hear the girl. She smiled, she already liked the girl who had barley spoken two words. ?You must be, you are such a beautiful young lady, look just like your mother did. She was a good women, she was, but we must not dwell on that so long or I just might start to tear up.? ?Oh my, you knew my mother! I-I can?t believe it how? How?? a jolt of excitement flooded over Riley. She forgot about being a shy, timid girl, mention of her mother always did that to her, because the truth was she had never known a thing about her mother. Both her parents had died before Riley was even a year old. She had never met anyone who had even really known her mother, even. She was intrigued. ?And? and I look like her?? ?Yes, you sure do,? Mrs. Lexet scanned her eyes over Riley, taking in the features that were so similar to the ones of her mothers, the ones of Mrs.Lexet?s best friend. The same loose curls in her brown hair , streaked with highlights of gold, as if someone had dropped rays of sunlight onto her head. She had the same long, thin figure, so much like her mothers. And mostly she had the same twinkling green eyes that seemed to contain the entire universe. But her pale complexion, full lips and sculpted features resembled her dad more, ?yes, and you look much your father too. Riley smiled at this thought, and her smile was dazzling. Since she had never really thought much of her appearance, she co (more...)

Resolved Question: Which is better for chronic depression and a severe sleep disorder: Remeron or Trazodone?
I have been diagnosed with dysthymia as well as various phobias and IBS. I also have very severe chronic insomnia that my psychiatrist says is part of my chronic depression. I tend to sleep 2-5 hours a night, if at all. When I do sleep, I have very vivid, disturbing nightmares. So far, I've tried the drugs Prozac and Celexa. Neither helped with the depression; Prozac worsened my IBS and made me lose weight, although it did help a little bit with the insomnia, and Celexa killed what little was left of my appetite, made me lose ten pounds (which is pretty bad for someone with an already low BMI), worsened my sleep disorder and made me feel like I had the flu (constant puking, dizzyness and achyness). My shrink recommends that I try Zoloft next, but a big part of me wants to stay away from SSRIs because I reacted so badly to the ones I've taken (both of which were supposedly "mild SSRIs"). Lately, I've been looking for atypical antidepressants that are helpful for sleep disorders and have little risk of weight loss or digestive side effects. I came across Remeron in my search, and a friend of mine who has been on nearly every antidepressant on the market recommends Trazodone. I've researched them both, and both sound equally attractive to me. I like Remeron for its reduced risk of digestive side effects and weight loss and for its superb track record for curing sleep disorders. Still, the risk of weight gain holds me back a little. I could stand to gain 10 or 20 pounds, but the idea of putting on any more weight than that does not sound at all appealing to me, and gaining obscene amounts of weight is not unheard of with Remeron. I like Trazodone, again, for its good track record with sleep disorders and lowered risk of dependency. Still, I don't like risk of diarrhea/constipation. Also, my friend who recommended the Trazodone told me that it's usually prescribed with another antidepressant (he took it with Zoloft). I'm very medication sensitive, even before going on psych meds (even small doses of baby aspirin and antibiotics almost always give me stomach problems), so I'd like to avoid taking a cocktail of meds if I can. Anyone have any experience with either of these drugs? If so, how did they effect you? Which one do you think would be better for my situation? (more...)

Resolved Question: How come i have virus problems? (Pro's Only!!)?
i have eset installed as well as malawarebytes anti malaware software and xoftspySE and they do the business. but recently even my eset has been detected a virus when i plug a usb HDD into my pc. it detects something called autorun and deletes it only for it to reappear. now am i right in asking that this is normal?1# the autorun file is the thing that makes the device appear on your desktop (Hence automatically running) or is it something unheard of? 2# secondly, my usb device has a file called .System on it which even when deleted with the software i have it just appears again and again. inside the file is like a recycle bin folder that is called: S-1-6-21-2434476501-1644491937-600003330-1213. what is this?3# this was never present when i used to plug this in! there is also anther folder that has appeared called recycler..again is this a legit folder or a virus?4# i must tell you that i have gone on my computer and tools and clicked on a setting which is called 'show hidden files or folders' or something to that degree and i believe that some of these files that are showing up could be just files which are essential but are usually hidden so they can't be deleted. but eset detects them and quarantines and deletes them. can somebody, preferabely a pro tell me what to do and answer my three questions (marked by #). and no arse comments saying.. you have a virus click this link for a great anti virus software or no stupid, blatantly obvious comments! Resolved Question: At your ballet school, what age to girls usually start pointe?
I'm just curious, because at my old dance school girls usually started pointe at 11 and even 10 years old. But at the school I'm at now, most people start at around 13 and 14 years old. Putting a 10 year old on pointe would be totally unheard of at the school I'm at now, and now that I think about it that does seem really young. I started when I was 11 at my old school and I did okay and never hurt myself. But do you think it's better to start a little later? (more...)

Resolved Question: what do you think of my poem?
i usually do not write dark poetry but i was in a bad mood today, and bored in math class. this does not reflect how i truly feel inside. give your true opinion, if you like it, cool. if you hate it, be honest Do you wish to see darkness Do you wish to see despair Do you wish to see what I suffer through every day Step into the place that I call ?home? A place were I can not leave Can not escape Can not run Can not feel In my prison I am numb Numb from years of torture Of neglect Of pity And of hatred My world is were the good are burned And the wicked are praised Were loyalty is unheard of And betrayal is around every corner Do you still wish to walk further Well come, fallow me Let the darkness surround you as it did me years ago Do you see it now Do you Were children are hanged And bread is stolen Do you see the trees burned from raging fires The corpses of animals that have finally ended their suffering No sun to brighten this darken land This world has put the sun to rest many years ago Do you see that in my world there is no such thing as love and friendship Do you still wish to see it further Run Breakaway from this darkness while you can For me, it is far to late thanks renato. lol ya i guess it can be be taken as creepy, didnt intend on it to be that way, but oh well (more...)

Resolved Question: what are my chances of being pregnant?
I've been off the pill for a month because I was having terrible headaches. I'm not sure the exact date I stopped but I should either get my period the weekend that just past or that one that is coming. I'm 20yrs old and my boyfriend is too on halloween the condom broke and we didn't know... I washed out and took the morning after pill 2 days later. however about 10days afterwards I started getting nauseous at random points of the day (almost threw up very many times, and I have a strong stomach), to certain smells, and even the thought of some of my favorite foods. I haven't gotten my period yet and I'm just a little worried... think I should be? the morning after pill is up to 80% effective if taken asap, and works less the more you wait to take it. I have a little gas, which could explain the tummy aches but it doesn't feel like my normal "gas tummy ache" so I really don't know. I've taken the pill for about 2-3yrs because I have ovarian cysts and my periods were very unstable since I got them at age 13. I was off the pill for two months a year ago and they were stable finally. however, even when they were unstable I always knew they were coming a week before. I had so many signs, like the need to eat even though I was not hungry, moodiness, zits, and just that "feeling" I have none of these yet. I am being repulsed by most food (unheard of for me, they call me a bottomless pit!), I'm kind of always moody and it's hard for me to tell if I'm being overly moody until afterward.... but I have my usually clear skin and I don't get the feeling my period is coming soon. I also have been feeling very tired, worn out, and sleepy. also, last night I had some sharp pains close to where my ovarian cyst pain is... could this be implantation pains? do they feel sharp or are they more dull?
