From Out of Nowhere (A Coldwell banker # 1 Selling Agent tells his story)
Of the nearly 70,000 Coldwell Banker agents worlwide,Marc Willcuts was honored as the number one agent in 1997. Not bad for an agent who sells all his property in the small Pacific Northwest town of Newberg,Oregon. Naturally, everyone wants to know what he's doing and how he does it. Those who know him and those who work with him can answer this in about fifteen words, but the story can't be told in anything less than a book. Marc Willcuts has known rejection and he's known great loss, but because of belief-his belief and those who believed him-he has journeyed a considerable distance and to a considerable height in only a short amount of time, emerging From Out of Nowhere to finish at the top.

Resolved Question: Letter recommendation 3 the right one! ?
To whom it may concern, My name is Pendie Saliu and I have known Vahide Hamdiu her entire life. She is the daughter of my first cousin. I am a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Real Estate One and I also work part time at Aurora Hospital in Kenosha, in the admitting department. I strongly recommend Vahide as a dedicated and responsible individual. She is a very bright girl with a considerable amount of drive and focus. Once she has set her mind to something she will try her hardest until it is accomplished. She is very respectful and kind to everyone that she comes in contact with, showing no prejudice on any level. She also commands respect from others in the way that she respects herself. Vahide is very interested in artwork and creating pieces of art. She also has an interest in the biological sciences, namely things that have to do with nature. She is aware of her surroundings and in tune with her environment. Vahide picks up certain aspects of her surroundings that most people her age do not. I feel that Vahide should be chosen over other people being considered for the same opportunity because of her dependability and loyalty, especially at such a young age. I think this will only deepen, as she gets older. Other very admirable qualities are honestly and hard work. She is a volunteer at the Dayton Residential Care Facility and displays patience and kindness when she is dealing with the residents. Another key attribute Vahide has is that she learns quickly. A great example of this is how she learned to speak English when she first came to the US in 2001, and also how quickly she adapted to a very different environment. Vahide would make an excellent candidate. In addition to everything I have mentioned above, I feel she will only expand and grow with her abilities and knowledge. Her potential is great. She would be an amazing addition to a team or do just as well in a situation where she will be working alone, and without supervision. Please fell free to contact me with any questions you may have. I can be reached at___________. Sincerely, __________________________ Pendie Saliu Coldwell Banker Real Estate One (more...)

Resolved Question: How do I become a real estate agent?
Ok. Here's the deal. I'm 17 and about to be a senior in high school. I know that I want to be a real estate agent and after college I would like to work at Coldwell Banker in Malibu. In college I plan on majoring in business. But what about now? What can I do now that will help me to become the best real estate agent is Southern California? I would like to do something so that I'm not just wasting time, so that I can really get a jump on my career. (more...)

Resolved Question: If my realtor is doing a terrible job can I change realtors within the same company?
I asked this question before and only got one response so I thought I would give it one more shot. Our selling realtor has been terrible. I had to call him several times to arrange for HIM to pick up the key to do showings and one person has looked at our house since it was listed and we have not heard one word from him since it was listed (a month ago). He doesn't even call to give us suggestions or suggest reducing the price or anything. Is there ANYTHING I can do to switch realtors within the same company (the contract is with Coldwell Banker and I want to use a different Coldwell Banker realtor - but it does list him as agent) I did sign the standard 6 month contract so I doubt I can do anything but I am just so frustrated. Are you ever allowed to change if your realtor is not doing a good job? I DO understand the market is terrible right now to sell but he just seems to make absolutely ZERO effort. (more...)

Resolved Question: Question about fees charged by a buyer's agent.?
I was putting an offer in on a house, and my agent was having me sign the paperwork. One of the pages was an agreement that my agents office will collect $235.00 at closing for the filing of the papers. Is this normal in the industry. The office is a Coldwell-Banker office and I'm buying in Oregon. Actually it is called the "Buyer Services Documentation Fee" an it is $295.00. (more...)

Resolved Question: Are the older Real Estate companies still the most successful and beneficial for agents and customers ?
Older companies like Long and Foster, Coldwell Banker and Century 21 have longevity behind them, but most of them still pay the same ole' 50/50 split for agents. Now, newcomers such as Keller Williams and Exit Realty have stepped onto the scene and offer agents 70/30 splits with new and improved ways of making additional funds. Does the decades and centuries of experience in the industry still make the older companies the most reliable for customers and beneficial for new agents? Or is the lure of a higher commission split, residual income and sponsoring enough to make these new companies the better choices. Could their updated technological features better than the older companies and would that actually benefit the customers more? I'm mainly asking because I am newly licensed and have not decided if I want to go with one of the new fancy companies or the older ones (more...)

Resolved Question: How do i find a Real Estate Agent to sell my home?
The person I bought my home from works in a different county and works for a private company. Would it be difficult for her to sell a home that is 30 minutes away from her business? Is it best to go with one of the bigger company's for better advertising? Coldwell Banker, Century 21, etc... I need to sell my home soon. (more...)

Resolved Question: Have any of you bought or sold a home through upromise to get the 1% college savings?
How did it work? I know the three realty agencies to choose from are Coldwell Banker, ERA, and Century 21... But do you get to choose which specific realtor you want to work with? And do you automatically get 1% of the sale price, (up to $3,000) deposited into your upromise account, or is it just whatever that particular agent offers, up to 1%? (more...)

Resolved Question: What are the cost involved in becoming a real estate agent?
How much does it cost to get licensed? What do you have to invest in with your own money (signs, cards, etc...)? How do you get on with a real estate company like Coldwell Banker or Century 21? (more...)
