I was thanking about a lodge or a cabin for a weekend adventure or something. someplace me and some friends could go to hang out and have fun. any ideas? i was checking out great wolf lodge but it's like $1000 sooo... if you can think of anything cheaper it would b awesome help. thanks also it doesnt have to be that close to home. and we have a pretty nice budget cuz im not gonna get presents just a vacations. i was thanking about a party at home but what could i do. I'm looking for recommendations for a group of first time skiers - instructions or a fun class and also where to stay. Resolved Question: Best Tahoe ski resort for intermediate snowboarders?
It's that time of year again... to go snowboarding of course. I've only been to Kirkwood, which was great; Heavenly, which was not because it was overpriced and overcrowded; and Big Bear (although that's so cal), which was also not that great. I've heard of many others, like Sugar Bowl, Squaw, Donner, Sierra-at-Tahoe, and Northstar and I was wondering which is your favourite ski resort for SNOWBOARDING. I'm intermediate and so are my cousin and friends; we like slopes and would like to learn a few tricks, but nothing too fancy or hard. Also, what hotels/motels/inns/lodges are a good place to stay around the resort? No cabins or condos because I'm not going in a big group, just around 4-5 of us. Thanks! (more...)

Resolved Question: What is this camp called?
I remember going to camp with my performing arts group in high school, but I don't remember the name of it. I don't have TOO too many details, but what I do remember is... 1. It's in Southern California. Nowhere near even approaching Central. 2. Its lodge basically had couches in the first part and a huuugggee meeting/dining room in the other part. 3. Outside right next to it is a row of cabins 4. From the bibles and literature that were all around the lodge, it's usually a Methodist camp. 5. Coming out of the lodge is a tiny hallway foyer area with bulletin boards(I remember reading a pamphlet about coming to be volunteer crew on the site in summer) 6. If you go past the cabins, there's a trail that leads off into hiking if you go right, but if you go straight, first you'll come to a stream with a bridge over it, then you'll come to a HUGE stone building they call "the old lodge". I know, I know, this is really vague, coz most camps have this stuff, but if you know which one it is could you let me know? Thanks. (more...)

Resolved Question: Where should my friends and I go while visiting Québec?
Two friends and I are going on a small road trip from December 26th or 27th until December 29th or 30th. Ideally what we were hoping for would be staying in a "rustic" like cabin at or near a national park or a wild life park. By rustic, I mean isolated from a city/town with a nice view. Kind of in the woods. If anyone has any tips on a particular park and even better a cabin or lodging that is like what I described I'd love to hear about it. Thanks!
