Open Question: Can I sleep in a car in the national parks, like Bryce Canyon or Zion?
I'm going to the US this summer and is driving from salt lake city to Bryce and Zion and Grand canyon and Yosemite. I'm wondering if it is legal to sleep in my rental car in the national parks? Was wondering about tour guides for Red Rock Canyon National Park, Valley of Fire State Park, Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon? What is a reasonable priced and good solid tour company to use? Here's the story: ----- Once upon a time, there was a boy named Bob. Bob went to ?Bob?s Foot Locker? and bought new shoes. One day, Bob was being chased by a raging bull on the top of the Grand Canyon. Bob?s shoes were untied, and he tripped over them, falling off the canyon and dying. The bull, on the other hand, got his horns caught in a tree. His body is still there, in ?Petrified Bull in a Tree National Park?, on top of the Grand Canyon. Resolved Question: 10 points to best question! Tips on driving from denver to mesa verde?
Starting in Denver I'll drive south on 25 to mesa verde and then will drive north on 50 back to Denver again. What places can I visit that are open on early april. I'll like to visit: -pikes peak in colorado spring -great sand dunes national park -black canyon of the gunnison park -colorado national monument 1- Are these parks open on early april? 2-what are the best things to see in those parks 3-what other places should i add to the trip? yes, im planning to take 160 . I'm staying for 10 days , do you guys think that is enough?? I will camp 1 night in the great sand dunes...well i would like to camp anywhere i can so that i don't have to pay hotels. We are visiting Las Vegas next week and are planning to drive north east into Utah. We haven't seen Bryce canyon nor Zion National Park. Since we are not planning on staying overnight in Utah, we want to see either one of the two. We have visited Grand Canyon & Monument Valley before and leaning towards Bryce Canyon. Is Zion spectacular enough to skip Bryce Canyon ? All your input is greatly appreciated. (more...)

Resolved Question: I don't know where to go on vacation please help?
Ok so me and my husband are taking two weeks off the first week of August 2009. We have been to CO on most of our past vacations...we love it but we don't want to go there anymore. We have been to Yellowstone and LOVED it. Also been to the Grand Canyon, Arches National Park and a few others in between. We live in Florida and drive to all of our previous vacation destinations. So FL to Yellowstone was great right...Ok so now what?? My husband doesn't want to drive anymore and he wants to fly. We were thinking WA state but I checked the flight and it's like 1.5 to TX then 9 hours to Seattle and I don't know if I would be comfortable fly for 9 hours straight. I have flown to NY from FL and that wasn't bad. We don't like going to the top tourist spots so going to state and town websites don't really help much. So if you can list maybe really cool place's you have been or some place you live that would be great. Thanks in advance. (more...)
