IN A WHISPER DVD - colt starting - horse training challenge Craig Cameron Josh Lyons Pat Parelli
IN A WHISPER horse training/colt starting challenge-ORIGINAL DVD COMES FACTORY WRAPPED/SEALED-DVD will play worldwide. An insightful & entertaining 2 hour training challenge featuring 3 of the best clinicians in the world; Craig Cameron Josh Lyons and Pat Parelli- takes place in historical Sundance Square in Ft Worth, TX- an environment that would be challenging for even a well trained, seasoned horse. This 1st ever contest was set up as fairly as possible so each trainer would be competing on equal ground; 6 horses from the same ranch, same age, equal breeding, same sex. The only human interaction the horses experienced in the first 2 years of life was being gelded- not the best working relationship! Pat Josh & Craig drew from a hat for 2 horses each & had 10 minutes to choose the horse they felt could best handle the challenge. The 3 horses they chose went to individual roundpens and from there the trainers were given just 2 ˝ hours to work their horse in preparation for their challenge ride that would be judged based on the following: 1st- rail work or general handling ability, walk, jog and lope on the rail in both directions, turn backs, 360 degree turns in both directions, stopping & standing for 10 seconds and backing 2nd- obstacle course consisting of 7 obstacles 1. Walk through an hourglass cedar log path 2. Walk through a zigzag cedar log path 3. Walking over 3 cedar logs 4. Elevated jump or step over 5. Trot a "figure 8" around 2- 55 gallon barrels 6. Take a rope and drag a log around the arena 7. Rope a bale of hay and drag it around the arena 3rd- a free style giving each trainer the opportunity to do anything he felt his horse was ready for. All of this in front of nearly 2,500 spectators in the middle of Sundance Square in downtown Ft Worth, TX with 8 cameras capturing the action up close & personal. Resolved Question: I am learning about Natural Horsemanship. What can you tell me? John Lyons methods especially?
I am being considered to help "get more miles" on a mare that has been professionally trained in Natural Horsemanship. I myself have a very natural and instinctive way of riding all horses, though I don't know anything about John Lyons training (and my competition, one other rider, does). I don't have a "proper" Natural Horsemanship background. Can anyone provide tips or any other advice that may help me? I'm confident I can connect with this mare, like I connect to all of my rides. Tomorrow the owner and the trainer would like to watch me ride her and evaluate how well she reacts to me.

Resolved Question: Natural Horsemanship where can I find an inexpensive method?
I have looked into Pat Parelli and John Lyon but both of their methods are extremely pricey. The horse I ride tends to get really freaked out at shows, when she is away from her stable buddies. So I want to work on helping her with her anxiety but I also want to be able to build a stronger bond with her and be able to work better with horses in general.
What methods do you use and do you have any hints in general?

I'm interedsted in starting my horse in a natural horsemanship program. I hope to improve my relationship with him, his respect for me, and our overall relationship. I'm an English rider and my horse is a 7 year old thoroughbred gelding.

Resolved Question: Natural horsemanship trainer question?
I just got a new horse and I want to train him using natural horsemanship methods. He is still young, only 2 and I want to make sure he is started the right way. I have read one of John Lyons' books and I have been researching other natural horsemanship trainers online. I found one named Sylvia Scott in Virginia that I really really like. All of her methods just make sense to me and I am eager to begin his training. I was just wondering if anyone has used her training methods before? If so, how do they compare to other natural trainers out there? Any info would be helpful. Below is a link to her website. Thanks!
