Resolved Question: I wrote this, do you think I'm nuts? Please answer, I beg of thee!?
I know it's wierd as hell but I'd love to know what you think it.
I heard them whispering that in the dark bats claw your eyes and hurricanes rain topaz whales. The radish factory is well hidden beneath the pine trees now and our alarm clocks are all set for 3:05. We are ready for the blaspheming monsoon to throw sand in the kettles, poison the pots and stir up the tin can shanties. This time we won't let Harry's mask slide off. We'll cement it on with good strong glue and wintergreen chewing gum. The blue kind.
If only I could find a grand flounder with which to cover my door. It would keep the piglets from assuming the canvas in the kitchen was theirs for the taking. Oh how they bother me with their constant wailing about the state of the stale potatoes in the garden shed. That is where in normally store my canvas, you see, in the garden shed.
Now is the time for us to strap tassels to our shoes to help us trample through the briars and shake the peppered lizards from our ankles. In the market they will ask us why we wear the green tassels and not the magenta ones that are in vogue these days, and we will tell them only that green is a good honest color. They will never understand and they will never be prepared for the ice with their stiff wooden mittens and iron laced scarves. Before the season is through, magenta tassels will protrude from their dusty drawers like the bill on a well paid racing duck.
Eventually, if things go on like this, we'll all have to empty the plastic pellets from our matresses and sell them to the laundromat. Somehow it makes me sad to see them whirling in the soap through the window of the big machine. It reminds me of the foam on your grandpa's necktie, the one he wore to the deli every tuesday when he would go to pick up solar rolls and liver colored kittens. It always snowed delicately with loud gusts of 13th avenue spiders on those days. It would cause chaos in the corridors of the library as young mice hurried to check out the latest victory only to have their necks snapped.
The spiders are gone now, all rather content to crumple above the ceiling tiles with a magazine full of velvety oil stains. They left me lacing up my boots alone with cattail fingers and dandelion eyes. I heard the sparrows crushing the frosted glass with their neon mallets. I reacted promptly, shoving your yellowest raincoat in the cabinet beneath the oven.
It is now nearly dawn, a bit late for me to be crossing the gaping field of gravel, but the dearest of onions had persuaded me to do so. I saw the washer late that day, a wise old witch as she ever was without her curious white pipes. The crickets are running through the refrigerator on the balding sand. Let's build muddy stairs inside a cardboard box in the middle of the street. A snake is standing in the washtub with breadcrumb slippers. They are full of pond water and he's trying to scrub it out with a greased sponge. A mossy blue sponge.
A storm commands an army of butterflies, well armed with rakes for tearing out drywall. A tortoise chewed tobacco in a mound of deteriorating birthday cakes. They're waiting for Superman to wrap cocaine in his cape and crawl under the truck, then tweak the wingnuts and welcome the rabbits. He dropped his dictionary in a puddle and it melted."Owl!" He cried. "Owl in the rafters with a box of macaroni!" and the owl drifts away, pencil in hand with a pocket full of feathers.
After scraping away the last layers of glue I found myself in a mouldering styrofoam cottage. I realized I would need a tractor to haul away all the missing pieces. I took them to my wicker basket full of shattered limes where Harry used to store the baking soda.
There's more but I figured you'd get bored.

Resolved Question: How to clean 'stainless steel' appliances and 'mirror effect' microwave fronts?
Apparantly the stainless steel toaster and kettle etc I have - are.... stainless. Well, they are NOT. Does anyone know how to get the greasy fingerprints off?
Also, I have a microwave with a mirror like finish to it. From the moment I got it (2 years ago) it has been covered in fingerprints I can't remove...
Anyone any clever ideas?

Resolved Question: OCD................................?
My flatmate keeps calling me OCD. I'm not actually OCD or anything but you know I get like it about some stuff...
eg
When I'm making tea I have to have the kettle facing the right way. I have to have the cups & saucers on the exact place on the counter. I have to get the tea out of the jar and put it in the teapot - close the tea jar - and have the milk out of the fridge before the kettle finishes boiling. If I don't get it done in the right order I get really frustrated & twitchy..
Or... Before I go to bed my room has to be perfect. All my stuffed animals have to be in the right place, so do my pillows. My slippers have to be in the right place on the floor. I have to switch the light of then jump into bed and get completely under the covers in a certain time.... or like I don't know ill get like scared that monsters will get me or something ( i know there are no monsters lol)
But like I don't switch lights on & off all the time or anything lol.
Lots of people have little quirks like this I think...
Do you agree?
Also...What do you get all 'OCD' about?

Voting Question: What do I do about a small scald on my Face?
Yesterday evening (Wednesday), I was steaming my face over a the bathroom sink, wich I filled with boiling hot water from the kettle. Trying hard not to get to close obviously not to scold myself. But the tip of my nose touched the water, and I didnt think it hurt it, until i looked in the mirror and it was red and peeling, and without thinking, i sratched the scaleded top layer of skin off. Its a very small scald right on the tip, but it looks really bad, because of where it is. I ran it under the tap for 20 mins, and havent put anything on it, But the problem is, I have a really special school dance tommorow (Friday) and im so worried!
The scald has dried out now, and its a little blistered, but not that bad, like a scab, it would be quite easy to cover with conceler and foundation, but i scar easily and im a little afriad it will infect it or something like that.
So, will it be okay to cover it with conceler and foundation? How long do you think it will take to go? Is there anything else I can do?
I'm really worried about it for Friday, PLEASE help!!
Thanks x

Resolved Question: Old-fashioned Thanksgiving Dinner?
This year my husband and I would like to make a Thanksgiving Dinner that has been cooked traditionally. I don't mean traditional foods, I mean cooked in old-fashioned ways. We moved into an old house that still has the original fireplace and it could easily be set up to cook in with a dutch oven or a small kettle or whatever (I wouldn't be surprised if the original owners had used it for cooking). So, my question is - does anyone know of any websites or other free resources that have recipes and directions for cooking in such a way? I doubt we would be able to do too much outdoors because the ground will most likely be either frozen and/or covered in at least a few inches of snow by that time. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Voting Question: How do you spend your Halloween Night? Give a Story!!!!?
Halloween is MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE HOLIDAY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STORY TIME!
its really fun and i love the candy part and the wind blowing at night. it sometimes scares the hibidabajeebies out of me which is good. sometimes i become so cautious that even the slightest branch that touches me scares me! last year i started crying cuz something touched me and i was SUPER SCARED! Im 12 and it was embarrassing. i love going to houses that have the BEST CANDIES like a bar of snickers or a whole bag of SKITTLES. i usually choose the best ones if they let us choose. I love the houses that are decorated and its like a path that you down like a Haunted House. and then as i was coming out, there was this man in a chair telling me to come over there and it was real. i just left quickly and took the candy. i also love those houses that have those halloween doormats that talk!!! Usually every year, i go to about 30-40 houses and i do tricks. lol their lame but... funny. I went last year with some friends and *sigh* good times, good times! After that, we go home and dump all of the candy on the floor and mix it up and i take all the good ones! and then, out of bed covers we hang the bed covers in a way to make a fort/tent type thing and get a flash light, make sure everything is dark and tell scary stories and then we make popcorn and kettle corn the OLD FASHION WAY in that pot thing and get pillows and blankets, stay in the fort/tent and watch a scary movie while eating candy!!! YAYYYYYY!
this year im going with the same friends and im going to be a DEVIL! and im 13 and i cant wait for HaLLOWEEN! YAYYYY
The end!
what's your story of how you spend that one night a year!
oh and i forgot to add: we watch movies like Edward Scissorhands and Hauted House. etcc... HALLOWEEN MOVIES!

Resolved Question: Does anyone know a recipe for caramel kettle corn?
I always buy caramel kettle corn from a vendor at Downtown Disney. Does anyone know a recipe for making it at home with unpopped popcorn? Or any recipe will do.
It's like... kettle corn that has been lightly caramel-covered. It doesn't stick together like caramel corn does.
Thanks so much. :)
