Open Question: Please post your thoughts on what I think we should do to save B&A?
We all know about the Twilight fans vs haters 'war' going on. On every Twilight question there is a basher, yet on every page there is one of those Twilight questions. Am I the only one who gets the feeling that people are about to snap? The Twilight hype is massive, as is its fan base, and as such it has a LOT of haters as well. In my opinion, there are four groups of people you could fit into based on your opinion of Twilight: the Edward Cullen mob/noobs, the Twilight fans (I will point out the differences later), the people who dislike the series and the haters/bashers.
The Edward lovers/Twilight noobs - You know the type. The ones who pound B&A with the 'OMG WHAT DO U THINK OF EDWARD?!?!?!?!?! HES SOOO HOT!!!', or use other such annoying bad grammar/pointless questions. Also people who ask, 'I hEaRd MiDnIgHt SuN wOnT bE pUbLiShEd?!?! PLEASE ANSWER?'.
The Fans - I count myself as part of this group. The people who like/love/are obsessed with the Twilight saga because of the writing style, depth and characters. NOT just because of Edward. The ones who are getting sick of the lovers and haters alike. Who prefer to search a question to see if it has been answered decently before asking it. In other words, the people who love Twilight, and may love Edward, but are not madly IN LOVE with Edward because they realise there will never be a guy as perfect as him in real life and/or have a boyfriend and are content to dream; just not obsessively. Most dislikers (in my experience) have no problem with this type of fan because they are not obsessively in love. A fair few fans are sick of the lovers AND the haters.
The Dislikers - I, personally, see this group as the people who have a dislike, maybe even a strong dislike, for the Twilight saga but are not bashers. They are smart enough to figure, 'Hey, my opinion isn't going to change anyone else's. Okay, I don't like the books but some people do. I'm not going to slam anyone for their taste in books'. These are the haters that most fans respect even if their opinion is different because they are nice enough about it.
The Bashers - It has to be said. The group who copy and paste 'TWILIGHT AND STEPHENIE MEYER SUCK SOOO BAD TWILIGHT IS **** AND THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT MUST ALL BE LIKE 10 YEARS OLD' or the like, or point out in every Twilight question they see why they hate the books (or even worse, ask questions like, 'What's the deal with this Twilight stuff?!!? It's stupid.')You know if you fit into this group. You're not doing B&A any favours, okay?
Oh, and one more thing I'd like to mention: Edward Cullen lovers, imagine if you had never heard of the saga. You log on to YA, go to B&A and see half the first page filled with Twilight questions. You go to see what all the hype is about and see people dissing Twilight on every question about how much people love Edward (or Jacob, for that matter). Not going to leave a great impression. That's how some people turn into bashers without even reading the books.
Now: what I propose we do. You should know by now where you stand. Here's what I think would make B&A a more peaceful and less frustrating place for everyone:
Edward lovers - search your question in the search bar before you ask. You will be saving yourself 5 points and some bashing. Keep the Caps Lock key off when you're asking a question. Try to use grammar better so you don't anger people.
Fans - Don't complain endlessly about the lovers/haters. Try to answer questions helpfully, and suggest the search bar in a nice way (I go one step further and give the person a link to a resolved question that is exactly the same).
Dislikers - Try not to stereotypical about the fans, and try not to turn into a basher. Aviod the Twilight questions if you are sick of them. State your opinion of the books without provoking people if possible.
Bashers - Simple: stop bashing. I know a lot of people who hate Twilight and are on YA, and guess what? They don't like the bashers either. All you are doing is earning yourselves a hell of a lot of thumbs downs. And not just from the fans.
On the topic of the impersonators...they're not doing any harm. Personally I find it amusing that they try to answer in a way that the characters would. Angry reactions just provoke them.
And this, my friends, is what I will be doing. I follow this. I want to know if other people think it's a good idea or, even better - if they'll try to do what it suggests, or something along those lines. If this prevents one question, persuades one user to search for answers before asking, or (in the unlikely event) stops one basher it will have been worth my while. Remember the old B&A? We need to be back to that.
Thoughts? Anything to add? Please post!
I hope I have not offended anybody by this, but honestly it's getting ridiculous.
And I apologize for the long post. Anyone who has been bothered to read it all...thank you! XD
Thank you, anti-twilight, for a good answer and a great suggestion. I think that would make everyone happy! Other categories would still get the odd Twilight question, but it would be nothing compared to now.
Thank you, Mia C. You have some great points.
Thank you, Haylee M! Then this rant/proposal has done its job - partly. I really appreciate it.

Open Question: Please help me...very sensitive, emotional situation?
When I started dating my now fiance, he was still friends with his X girlfriend. I think they dated for somewhere around 4 years. He broke up with her because she didn't give him enough attention. I guess he said she was more consumed with her own pursuits in life than their relationship. They remained good friends but he mentioned that he thought she wasn't completely over him and still needed to be close to him.
He still had some of her artwork up in his apartment and some emotional looking gifts she'd made on his shelf. She also had tons of photos and files onhis computer including semi-intimate ones.
I didn't think it would be a problem when we started dating because I just thought it was a passing phase. I thought he was phasing her out. Soon, we began to meet up with her and I thought "this is kind of uncomfortable but I think I can be ok with it." That was also because she was kind of seeing someone so it was a little more comfortable. Then she stopped seeing the guy and still wanted to hang out with us and sometimes called my boyfriend up to chat about what was gong on with her life. We would hang out with her once in a while and I tried to warm upto her so that I could be ok with this relationship but she kept me at a distance. When we all hung out she would talk on and on about herself, which I'm sure was an insecure reaction to the awkward situation.
I told my fiance how uncomfortable this whole thing was. In fact I was bawling and crying because it was so confusing. He didn't know what to do because he didn't want to lose his friend. He also cried very hard and was super depressed. That just made me even more upset because it showed he still really cared for her. He would try to say "she's just a friend" but I can't get over the fact that once she's been his lover she will always be his xgirlfriend to me and not just his friend. He took down the most of her art and put all of her computer pictures and files on his website for upload so that they weren't on his comp anymore.
We hung out the three of us a couple of months ago. It was brutally painful for me because things about their past kept coming up. She mentioned a place they'd been together (that I'd seen in her pictures on the comp). I just can't feel ok with it. When we got home I started crying because I was so confused. After a long discussion we decided the best thing for us would be to not see her anymore. I wanted to slowly wean her away and they could just slowly grow apart as many friendships naturally do. But he felt that was cruel and wanted to talk to her and tell her the problem.-which she is going to throw a fit (she has before). That was the last we talked about it. that was like two months ago...I don't know if he's talked to her or not. I haven't wanted to bring it up and all the stress with it but I'm so unhappy. The thought of her and the whole situation haunts me. When I see the same kind of car she drives I get sick to my stomach and depressed. He never mentions her or anything to do with her but he seems very happy despite.
He is the absolute man of my dreams and my fiance. I need to be happy before we make this life commitment. Please help...how do I feel better. How do I get over it and just be secure... should I have done something different??

Open Question: What dog is right for me?
Well, I'm 16. I absolutely want a companion (dog) more than anything right now.
Take in mind I am taking him/her wherever I move out to when I'm older. I will be in school for only 3 hours a day, come home, then go to work if I'm scheduled that day. I am a dog lover and whenever I see a dog I love to give it my attention.
My favorite types of dogs are Akita, Alaskan Malamutes or Siberian Huskies, Samoyeds, and Shiba Inus.
Those may be a little difficult for me. Everyone keeps telling me that I cannot own a husky. But I'm willing to put my all into it, but oh well... On to plan B. *sniffle*
What dog, alone those lines, could be right for me? I do NOT like small dogs at all. Like, little rat dogs? No. I cant have a huge dog, I'd love to but I cant. So What medium/small-ISH dog is a good breed? thanks!
I'm willing to get active and stay fit, which means I will take my dog everywhere with me. I love taking dogs on walks, and playing with them.

Resolved Question: What are the silly little nicknames you call your cats?
You know you do it! I'm pretty sure all cat lovers do it!
My two cats are nicknamed "nin skeeky nin" and "purt nin", when their actual names are keeva and scribbles.
Don't ask me why those ones lol.. They just seem to fit!
Mrs Cullen, if you don't like cats then why are you in the cat section answering cat questions? Peculiar you are!

Resolved Question: Spiritually speaking, what would you do in Seth Brundle's position?
So, I was reminded of The Fly a bit earlier. Not the original "look, a kid's halloween mask on an adult man!" version, but the remake with Jeff Goldblum, where Seth Brundle literally devolves into this grotesque hybrid of a human and fly.
As he "devolves", he begins slowly losing his ability to think and feel on a human level and ends up a) melting off someone's arm and leg, b) trying to kill his lover and unborn son, and c) accidentally fusing himself with the broken parts of a machine.
Finally, little more than a slab of flesh, he claws his way to the woman he just tried to kill, takes the barrel of the shotgun she's holding, and puts it to his forehead.
Now then, for those who are wondering why I'm suddenly curious, that's about the most grotesque example I can think of off the top of my head of utterly losing yourself to a disease or injury.
Can what happened to Seth Brundle happen? Not that we know of.
Can things just as gut-churning and vile happen to a human being? Yeah, actually.
Can it drive human beings past the point of insanity?
Oh sure.
We don't like to contemplate just how far into suffering and madness we can plunge while our bodies still work feverishly to keep us alive long after we would beg for death if we still had a mind left to do it with, but it can certainly happen. That's even more true today, given our ever advancing medical technology, and people's insistence on busting their butt to do everything possible to keep you alive and stuck in your living Hell, especially if it crept up on you and snagged you before you had a chance to say "I want to die".
If you don't believe me, go find out if hospitals are obligated to stop treating you if you've had a massive stroke or are paralyzed from the neck down, and tell them you want them to end your life rather than keep you stuck in that position. If that doesn't satisfy you, hike it on down to the Alzheimer's ward and find out if you're allowed to tell the hospital staff to put you out of your misery before your mind is completely torn apart by that disease.
Animals we'll put down before they can suffer like that, but as a people we'll do our damnedest to inflict that sort of suffering on another human being in the name of having compassion for them. Not the point, though.
The point of my question is, if you were stuck in Seth Brundle's position-- knowing that your body was going to degenerate that much, that your mind was going to be torn apart in the process, and that before it was over you would be insane enough to try and kill those you love-- what would you do?
Would you ride it out because you had to believe there was still hope you could be saved from your fate?
Would you ride it out because God says he's the only one allowed to end your suffering, and it's not your right to decide?
Or, would you end it at some point whether God saw fit to intervene or not? And if you would end it, at what point along the line would you decide it was time for the ride to stop?
Yeah, I have to wonder about the "God doesn't give us more than we can handle" bit, myself.
There was an incident in which two siblings were kidnapped. The name most people remember is Shasta Groene because she lived, but this is what happened to her little brother:
A man broke into the family's house, tied up Dylan and his sister, and threw them out onto the lawn. Then he went back inside with a claw hammer, and beat everyone else in the house to death. Their older brother was able to stagger outside, but died in front of them, of massive head trauma.
The man then came back, kidnapped the two of them, and proceeded to rape both children and torture Dylan on a constant basis for nearly a month, before he finally got sick of Dylan, took him out into the woods, and shot him in the head.
I just have to know... what part of that was Dylan Groene supposed to be able to overcome?
Oh, sorry... just in case someone's thinking this was a strapping teenager who should have been able to defend his sister, Dylan Groene was nine years old, and I should amend the details of his death slightly. First his killer shot him in the stomach with a shotgun and let him lay there and beg for his life before shooting him in the head.

Resolved Question: Did anyone like Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer?
Personally, I love all of the first three books. It was great. But when I read Breaking Dawn, I was so freaking disappointed. What is your opinion about the third book?
First of all, the author should not mention Jacob in the forth book (okay, the author should briefly mention about Jacob and finding himself another lover but not Bella?s freaking kid!), because I think I think the author should just concentrate on Edward. After all isn?t he supposed to be the male lead of this twilight saga? It would be so much better if we can get some Edward?s perspective about Bella?s being pregnant and etc. I honestly didn?t want to read anything about Jacob.
I did like Jacob, until Breaking Dawn. I hate the fact that he?s a pedophile and I will never forgive him for imprinting Bella?s baby! Also, I?m okay with Bella getting pregnant, but gosh, why did Stephanie Meyer make Bella beg for sex? Also in the end of the novel, Bella didn?t get to improve her self esteem or anything until she became a Vampire. It would be so much better if the author works on Bella?s personality before she became a Vampire.
As for Edward, I understand that he love Bella a lot and that he was so worried about Bella when she was giving birth. He doesn?t really care about the baby, only for Bella?s health. To be honest, I want the author to show compassion that Edward had with the baby, that way it will show us the readers about family, friendship, and love.
Overall, I had really high hope for this book. I am so disappoint in this last novel?.Why can?t Jacob and Leah get together, instead of imprinting that poor Renesmee. Also, why must Renesmee grow up so fast? I know that she?s a half vampire and half human, can?t she just grow like regular kids but stop aging once she hit 18 years of age?
It really disgusted to see Renesmee and Jacob get married, since Jacob used to love and even kiss Renesmee?s mother, Bella!
P.S:
What?s with the Renesmee name? Can?t she think of something else? Edward, Isabella are both old fashioned name, the author should comes up with names that are used in the early 19th century or baby names that fit with Edward and Isabella, like Ophelia, Adeline, Beatrice, Camellia, and etc
UGH WHY MUST SHE DO THIS TO US!!!!
I know that Jacob is not married to Bella's kid, but he will eventually, when that kid get older. Ugh I don't want to think about it!
I can't wait until Midnight Sun is out, God, I love Edward. To be honest, I like Edward the best compare to Bella and the rest. I really like Alice, Carlisle, Esme, Japer and Emmett. I wish the author mention about them more...I love them!
Oh and Charlie too...I feel so sorry for him for having a daugther like that.

Open Question: Siberian husky/or alaskan malamute right for me? Need experienced people.?
I'm a 16 year old girl. I have always loved husky dogs and alaskan malamutes. I am planning to get one this summer, in 6 months. I am adamant on saving up! I am buying him myself.
I will be going to college for a couple hours a day, and I will come home to see my puppy and shower him with attention. I am a dog lover, so this is a dream for me to get one. With that, I will give my husky or malamute unconditional attention, for he will be my companion. ( I do not have extracurricular activites or many friends so I will have quite some time on my hands for my dog, my boyfriend will come over to see him a lot too)
I will have a job too, so I will come home from school, then leave to go to work whenever I am scheduled. I will live with my mom until I am around 20 yrs old. My dog will be 5 years old when I move out and take him with me. I am planning to take him on walks a lot, and like stated, give unconditional love!
With this said, how long can huskies/malamutes actually be alone, like when I'm at school or work? I am planning on spoiling my dog with lots of toys to keep him busy. Please give me suggestions.
AND. I do NOT want to hear "Oh godd they LOVE to run, blah blah blah". I KNOW. Heh. I am willing to give him exercise everyday, and that will give me a chance to stay fit.
Thank you!
(OH. by the way, we will only have a small yard, and a neighborhood)
